I took my roommate to get gel nails for her engagement and she couldn't figure out which color would give her what she wanted- she showed the tech who nailed it first try. I got regular polish again and it's been 2 weeks- no chips. Genuinely nothing!! And a great price for how long lasting they are. I loved how attentive the techs are as well. He made sure to go back and fix any spill on the sides and was obviously very experienced. It's very calm inside but clean appearing and I appreciate that you can see that they have steam cleaned their materials. read more

It pains me to leave this negative review, especially as I had been a loyal customer for years. Even when we moved 30 minutes away, I still continued coming to this place over other closer, more highly rated salons in my new neighborhood. Lately, it seemed like the service has been somewhat subpar, with gel manicures starting to chip sooner than expected. Just most recently, the paint on one of the nails chipped and then completely peeled off within just a few days (less than a week). I called on Sat toward the end of the day when we were in the area to see if they can redo just that one nail, and they said they were closing soon and couldn't, but that they had plenty of availability the following day (Sun) in the afternoon, and I should just call them when I was ready to come in. That's exactly what I did (within 3.5 hours of closing time). The response I got was that they were all booked up, and that that's not what they told me yesterday, and I should come back tomorrow (Mon) morning instead. Mind you, it's a work day, and we live 30 mins a way. In addition, I'm 39 weeks pregnant and can go into labor imminently, and it just would've been really nice to have a nice manicure during this time. They did not care, just reiterating they couldn't see me. Again, it was 1 nail that would've taken them no more than like 5-10 minutes to do. Unfortunately, it's now time to move on to a closer, more highly rated salon. They lost a loyal customer. read more

I've been a loyal Aer Nailbar customer for years, but my recent pedicure left me with a painful infection that required an urgent care visit and antibiotics. One of the newer technicians was extremely rough and trimmed my nails far too short. I told her several times that her digging into the side of my nail was extremely painful. I asked her to stop, and she rushed through the polish. By the next morning, my toe was red, swollen, and throbbing. Now that I'm on antibiotics and the swelling has gone down, I can clearly see the open wound where she was scraping and clipping. I emailed the salon and left a message for the owner, but I've received no response, which is incredibly disappointing after so many years of loyalty. It's clear that the quality has declined and the experience is no longer the relaxing self care it once was. I will not return for services here read more

I really hate leaving bad reviews and I loved this place the first time I went, but I went back and had another manicurist and he was very nice but it was just an awful dip manicure. It took him hours to do and at the end it was uneven and very thick, and it started peeling off within 5 days! I have never had a dip manicure that took this long or peels this quickly, even regular manicures last longer. Dip typically looks perfect for weeks and weeks. I would only recommend this place if you will be seeing Rachel, otherwise it is not worth the price at all. read more

Aer Nailbar is my favorite nail salon in Boston. It's clean and professional. I've had multiple nail artists, and everyone has always done a fantastic job. Most recently, Chloe did my gel manicure. She was incredibly meticulous and detail-oriented. Gel manicures are $48, but there's a 10% cash discount. Expect to spend ~1hr here for a gel manicure, and make sure to reserve an appointment in advance on their website. Lots of street parking available nearby. High recommend this place! read more

I have been coming here for manicures for a little over a year. Came today and got paired with someone I'd never had before. She broke skin/cut me while filing my nails. Two different fingers!! I didn't even know it was possible to cut someone with a nail file. I asked if they had any antibiotic ointment and was presented with a bleeding stopper (fortunately, I was not bleeding, it basically looks/feels like a paper cut). Despite me telling her she cut me, she continued to use this rough technique and I decided I wasn't going to risk it with the cuticle cutting and cut my losses and left. Front desk staff barely apologized as they charged me for my pedicure that I had just before. I won't be going back there. (I ended up going to a different nearby nail salon because I wanted my nails done for my upcoming birthday and the woman there was appalled at the filing job done here). It was easy to make appointments on their website and check in was a breeze. Min did a great job with my dip manicure. I don't regularly get manicures but I have fallen in LOVE with the Hybrid Mani at Aer Nailbar. For $26 - discounted if you pay in cash, 5% off with Yelp check-in (although not all employees seem to be aware of which discounts are actives - one small hiccup) - you get a mani bomb (this little fizzle bath bomb dropped into a the bowl you soak your hands in) and a solid manicure with those 'gel-like' polishes which require no UV (Essie gel couture, OPI Infinite Shine, CND Vinyluxe, or BeBio). I like this next-level polish that yes drug stores offer but no I'm not skilled enough to apply myself. A massage is also included with this option. Maybe the mani/pedi deals are what people are calling 'more expensive' but I'm frugal and I personally find this experience worth it and a great value for returning every 3 weeks. The place is very hygienic and all the employees are polite and diligent in getting your nails to look great. I am v. clumsy but in spite of that, the 2 hybrid manicures I've gotten here have lasted well over a week (hybrids are noted to last 7 days) and with proper care, I imagine you can make it go even longer. When I book, I choose 'any staff available' as it gives me the most availability with my 8-5 schedule. Kenny & Hann 'nailed it' my last two appointments but I have faith in all their employees just by seeing how carefully they've worked other customers' nails along the bar. I have been a client of Aer Nailbar for many years and remained loyal to this place despite the significant cost increase and steady quality decline. In early June I booked an appointment for manicure and pedicure. The technician started with a pedicure treatment and once it was done, she was seemingly surprised by the fact that I had reserved a spot for a manicure as well. Therefore, the manicure part was a bit rushed which I honestly didn't even mind (somebody overbooked her, that happens). However, as soon as I left the salon, I noticed that my nails looked extremely unusually messy: hanging cuticles, cuts, etc. I decided to wait and see how my nails would look in a few days (I have sensitive skin and sometimes it appears a bit irritated immediately after a manicure appointment). By now, it's been a week and a half and I still have hangnails all over my nails. My nails look MUCH WORSE than they did before the appointment. I am using a special oil treatment every day to calm down the irritated skin. It looks horrible and it hurts. I emailed the salon and politely explained the situation, asking for a solution. Never received a response. A couple of days later I called them. They promised to return my call as soon as possible. Instead, an hour later they sent me an email, insisting that "hangnails are normal" as if it was the very first manicure appointment in my life. Does this look normal to you? To me, it does not. Absolutely horrific service. I had my first appointment here in December for gel - x nails. One of the nails fell completely off within the first week which absolutely should not happen with Gel-x nails. I have had gelX nails many times - they consistently last 3 - 4 weeks. These started falling off within a week. Despite this, I was willing to give them another chance. I have tried booking with them 3 times in the past 2 weeks and each appointment has been cancelled - the first two were because of Covid, something that I 100% am okay with, although more than 24 hours notice would have been nice. Most recently, I scheduled an appointment for Friday at 4 pm over a week ago. Was called Thursday morning to be informed that their system overbooked me and they "have no idea why." This is unprofessional and they clearly do not value new business. Do NOT waste your time or money here. read more

I went to see Molly my second time here. She was very sweet but did a very quick job. I came for a pedicure, she didn't ask what shape I wanted and clipped my nails way too short. I gave Aer Nailbar another chance and I was disappointed. The pedicure was fine, but when it was finished, I was told to wait 15 minutes to dry. I explained that I had a manicure booked and the technician spoke to someone else and then snapped at me "we don't have time." I waved to the receptionist and showed my confirmation email on my phone and was told it was a 'misunderstanding.' During the manicure and pedicure, my nail technician answered/made phone calls three times, making everything take longer. When she applied the polish to my fingers, I found a piece of fuzz embedded in the polish on my thumb. She was able to pull it out with a cuticle clipper, but when I got home, I found another piece of fuzz polished into my pinky. On some of my fingers the paint doesn't color the entire nail. I am really disappointed with the quality of the manicure. I don't plan to go back. read more
