Although I've been a customer for over 10 years they recently charged me for work they didn't do and although I did the work myself, following multible returns with the same problem, they insist they did the work (the piles of composted leaf liter, mouse nest and old motor prove it) and each time I returned with the same non working windshield wiper problem they kept calling me back saying it was fixed. What an amazing business! We live in Michigan. My 18-year old daughter totaled her car in Virginia. What a nightmare. Boswell's made this awful situation so much better. Melissa was so helpful. My daughter's car was FULL of her personal belongings, and Melissa worked so hard to go through the car and recover all of my daughter's belongings that got strewn about the car in the accident. Melissa packed it all up in a box and mailed it back to us in Michigan, without demanding a dime for her time and effort. I broke down driving to work in the afternoon around 130 pm near Quantico- my drive belt had snapped off... I called Boswell's, a tow truck showed up within 20 mins and two gentlemen hooked up my car and took it to the shop, they were able to look at it and give me a very fair quote right away, and my car was all fixed up before 5 pm.... very fast, reliable service! I visited this shop to get some work done on my 2002 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. I called shortly after 8am and explained my issues. The person who answered the phone gladly said the would be able to take care of me. I dropped the vehicle off around 10:30am with no wait time. My one complaint is the location of the shop. If you're going south on Route 1, in traffic, it can be difficult to make the left turn over the northbound lanes to get into their parking lot. That's more of an information piece for those who visit this shop. So, I get a call about two hours after dropping the car off. The man on the phone confirmed the issues I explained, as well brought to my attention some issues I was unaware of. He asked if I wanted the unknown issues fixed (which I really appreciated as opposed to just fixing it and charging me without me knowing) and told me he would call when the car was done. Now, I dropped this off on Tuesday fully expecting not to have the car back until Thursday or Friday. Imgaine my excitement when I got a call at 4pm the same day, saying my car was ready. I was very pleased with Boswell's service and will be brining my car back there for future repairs that come with owning a retired police car with 140k+ miles. read more

Preliminary review because I just had my Cadillac dropped off on Saturday after the shop closed (with permission); this Automotive repair shop came highly recommended for honest estimates and fairly fast turnaround; the person on the phone was very friendly and patient. After our truck started to fail us on the highway, we took the next exit and broke down in front of Boswell's garage after business hours on our way home to the Pocono's from NC. We called the garage number, expecting to get an answering machine, and Leonard answered the phone (which surprised us). He assured us he'd be able to get us in first thing in the morning. We left all of our belongings from vacation in the truck and Ubered to a close-by hotel and stayed the night, while we waited. Leonard actually went that night and was able to pull the truck into the garage so we weren't broken into, which thoroughly eased my mind. He kept us informed throughout the morning and by 10:45 am, our truck was done. We are so thankful to Leonard and Boswell's, who couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful to us when we needed it the most. We highly recommend this garage. This is the absolute worst garage I have ever seen. The customer service is better at McDonalds with the pimply 16 year old on his first day that took our order the other day. We went for emissions testing. I made my daughter do it herself. Its her first car and I thought it would be good experience for her. I was however close by and she had witnesses to the rude way that she was treated. They treated her like a low class citizen ,I'm assuming because she's a teenager. They would not explain anything to her and used the rudeness when she asked for the printouts of the codes that popped up on the car. Truth be told we probably would have gotten the car fixed at the shop if they had not been so rude instead I will take my business elsewhere along with the $500 it will take to fix the car. I was so upset with the way they treated her that although I will be getting the car fixed in 14 days that is allowed to get your car retested for emissions for free I refuse to go back there and will pay the additional $28 to do so elsewhere. Upon returning home I told my roommates of the experience and was surprised to find out that they also have been treated equally as rudely by this company. I also was told that the last time they took their car in to have a sensor put in the sensor was put in backwards and when it was brought to their attention ,the customer, my roommate was actually told off by employee at Boswells!!!! Do NOT pay the high price of getting you vehicle repaired by your dealer until you get a second opinion from Roy and his team. If the repair is needed it will be half the cost. What's better, there is a good chance they will tell you the "suggested maintenance" is not necessary. You will not find a more honest, competent automotive shop in northern Virginia. read more

I have an old diesel jetta, while driving home the alternator died. Called Boswell's as they are a towing company and had it taken to their shop. They called the next day said alternator and battery were bad. I told them the battery was still under warrenty and they said they deal with Advance auto all the time so would check for me. Next day I called Boswell's and was told Advance wouldn't replace the battery. I told them to go ahead and replace it, but I want the old one back. When I picked up car (they charged $220 for battery) I again had to ask for the old battery, and was told it has "one bad cell" - the battery was completely dead (meaning they hadn't charged it to test) and when I took it to advance auto they charged it, tested it and told me it was good. Went back to Boswell's told them I wanted to return the new battery, and the guy there was still insisting my old battery was bad, so I asked him to show me using their tester (he was insisting Advance Auto has a cheap one and wouldn't see the bad cell) - he brought out his tester fiddled with it for a few minutes hooked it up and big green light came on. Then he started saying "well it showed bad before, that cell might just be flaky". It's been over a years since I got my money back, battery still going strong. read more

Ok I am not a happy customer.. Long story short; the part they fixed two months ago is broken again.... Took it to my local dealership and the master mechanic himself looked at my issue.. In his 20 plus years experience he believes boswells messed up and messed up bad... The mechanic showed me on his computer where it states that certain bolts be covered with locktite (wasn't done) and to torque all bolts down ( obviously not done since I'm missing two brake caliper bolts. Being I live over an hour and a half away from this shop they offered for me to mail one part to be fixed when the entire truck needs to be present to be done correctly. Being that that's impossible to do they won't do anything else to help or return some of the nearly $600 they charged me.... (which is funny that they up charged me on parts and didn't even get all the right parts you should have to do the job I paid for. Bottom line: the fix vehicles quickly and hope they don't return; just look at other reviews on other websites... read more
