I went to get my emissions test done early morning. Took about 45 minutes all together. Staff is great and very courteous. My only complaint would be that now my back tire sensor isn't reading again. Recently moved to VA and needed a safety inspection. Everyone here is so friendly and I was greeted immediately with a smile. Staff is personable and have a good sense of humor. I called before coming in but was told I did not need an appointment. From start to finish everything took a little less than one hour. Recently I needed to have my emissions checked. After a bit of waiting, they came back and charged me $28 and then told me they couldn't check the emissions with the check engine light on. To run the emissions diagnostics would be $177. Why if they could easily see the check engine light was on would they charge me $28 for nothing? read more

Was a loyal customer for a few years but recently left disappointed. Had a gas smell coming from our vehicle after an oil change. The oil cap wasn't placed on correctly afterwards, causing the oil to spill out as we drove and creating a bad smell. We took the vehicle back and they fixed the issue. I had also requested a tire rotation, noticed I was charged, but realized the tires were never actually rotated. I was able to easily tell due to a plug I put in one of my rear tires and later saw that it was in the same position. Luckily both things were minor and didn't put our safety in jeopardy while driving or translate into expensive repairs but seems like quality control could use some improvement. read more

We found Burtons by chance when we were having truck trouble while traveling with our 2 dogs and pulling a big trailer. They were so nice from the minute we pulled in. They took our truck in right away and within 2 hours it was fixed and we were on the road again. The nice gentlemen from the car dealer side of the building brought us ice cold water for our 2 dogs. I cannot say enough positive things about this business. Very courteous, helpful and informative staff. I did not feel like I was being 'taken' as so many of us are by auto repair places. Their prices are very reasonable, and I would definitely recommend them for any auto repair. I took my 2007 Saturn in and they were able to diagnose the two issues, fixed one of them for a very reasonable price, and let us know that the other issue was under an extended warranty and referred us to the dealership. I visited this business twice. The first time we waited at least 10 minutes while 3 other customers were helped ahead of us. We were not acknowledged in any way until we were walking out the door. I normally would not have returned but this business is the closest that does state inspections. I went to get an emissions inspection and was acknowledged almost immediately. When I told them my reason for being there, I was told there was a 45 minute wait. While that is longer than I've waited at other locations, I decided to go ahead and wait. After 1 1/2 hours, my car was finally finished. No apology for the extended wait, no other customers to explain the extended wait. I will never return to this shop. read more

These guys are crooks. I took my vehicle in for a simple brake line repair, and minor fuel leak, and they ended up replacing my exhaust system, axles, brake pads, brake rotors, and Lord knows what else they wanted to do. I didn't authorize half of what they did, (the vehicle was running fine except for the minor things I brought it in for) and they ended up charging me an exorbitant amount--again, without my authorization. I had to file a BBB complaint against them! Cheats and thieves! And instead of two days they had it almost a week! What a rip off. I don't trust them as far as I could kick them. read more

I had a van that I had in storage for three years and had the breaks seize up. They took care of me and gave me a fair price. Well, I was a faithful customer for many years and paid what-ever I was charged, but then I was kept for months regarding a problem with my car computer modules? and I was told that the dealership didn't make them anymore for that year and this and that. I went to another place and they replaced them at a low price.At another time they "fixed" an oil leak and we took it back two times to show them that it was still leaking (oil on the garage floor and on a cardboard to show them) and they told us, "everything is fine and it is only residue from the old leak." It continued to leak. I paid a lot of money for this service. After these two incidents we never went back. They lost one of their most faithful customer they had!!!! read more

They will scam you for your money. Just look at their other reviews online, and the complaints to the BBB about them. We took our truck to them in 2014 to get an estimate. Dropped it off. They called and said the estimate cost, to which we said never mind, will go elsewhere. We showed up to pick vehicle back up, and they had done the work without authorization! No signature, nothing. They basically said oops, our fault, you can choose to pay us for the work or not. So of course, this was THEIR fault. Who works on a vehicle without authorization? Them, apparently, because it looks as though they've done it to many people. Now, a year and a half later, they just now send us a bill. The bill has no signature on it from us. They claim service date was December 25, 2015, which is impossible, considering we traded in this vehicle on April 22, 2015, and no longer even have it! They even wrote themselves on their service notes they sent us, that this was a "never approved estimate". We called, and they said it's our fault, and they will see us in collections and hung-up! What a joke! Can't believe they are pursuing something just now, all this time later. Too bad we have an attorney, and a cease and desist letter they will be getting. Sorry for you, Burton's. Scam didn't work this time. And you really need a new secretary. Funny you think you can honestly try to collect from people without any paperwork, signatures, service date, etc. Long story short: stay away from Burton's Auto, and do not get an "estimate" from them. read more
