Authentic Brazilian restaurants are hard to come by. We were in town for work, and our little family stopped by to get some tasty Brazilian food. Everything was fresh and delicious. The young man working was so accommodating and patient. We got all of our Brazilian favorites, and really enjoyed our dinner. We even got a nice little dessert at the end. Brazil was decked out all over the restaurant, that was nice TVs, and you do have to walk next-door to use the bathroom, but it's easy. I would most definitely go back there, if you're looking for Brazilian food in this area, this is the place to go ! read more

I really wanted to like this place. We've been there twice now. Service was really slow and there were only two other tables with folks eating. I will say the server was friendly they just rarely checked on us and I had to go looking for them to pay my bill. The food lacks flavor. The meat lacked salt. The feijoada was lacking as well. It's just all very bland. I don't know if it's because the cooks are from a different region in Brazil or what but it's just not the typical Brazilian food I'm used to. read more

I'm ecstatic that there is a new Brazilian restaurant in the RTP and I'm curious about many of the dishes that Boteco has on the menu. I am no stranger to Brazilian food so I can say that I was pretty excited about visiting after taking a peek at the menu. While I can say that the food on the menu is typical Brazilian pub food, it definitely feels more expensive than you would get it in Brazil. I guess we are not in Brazil though! I ordered 6 of their chicken coxinhas, which are the Brazilian version of the pierogi. This appetizer comes with a side of fries. I also ordered their picanha entree, which came with french fries, garlic bread, farofa, and what they call "salsa", which is actually more like a pico de gallo (vinagrete in Brazil). Again, the prices are a bit hefty, but Boteco Do Brazil is very fair about the portion sizes. I was able to turn the above into 2 meals, and easily could have made it three meals. The coxinhas were pretty good, small bit filled with plenty of chicken. The picanha wasn't quite picanha, seemed like just a New York Strip. I think the waiter told me that they wouldn't be serving me picanha, but I must have missed that because I was practicing my Portuguese. Either way, I was made to pay the price for the picanha, which is typically a luxurious option of meat. The steak was a bit overcooked, but the flavor was good. The sides were decent, but hard to eat with the rest of the meal. I think I would substitute garlic bread for some rice. Boteco's french fries are awesome. They are crispy and seasoned very well. The atmosphere in the restaurant is just loud. The people inside aren't loud themselves, but there is music always blasting. It certainly fits the vibe of a Brazilian bar, but wouldn't be a place to chill and have a relaxing meal. Service itself was mediocre. I was happy that the server was willing to practice Portuguese with me, but service itself was quite slow, especially when there weren't a ton of people late at night. In my conversation with him, he mentioned that business used to be very high when they open, but has been more quiet and steady lately. I'd hate for the only Brazilian option in town to not stick around, so I implore you all to give it a try! I think the food is good enough for folks to give it a whirl. read more

I liked the food here, but I feel like too much of the menu items were deep fried. It was actually kind of hard to find something on the menu that wasn't fried in some way. Also I feel like it could do a little bit more towards creating a Brazilian feel, the inside of this place seems pretty generic. read more

This is just an update to a previous review. The owner saw my review online and reached out on their own to correct the billing mistake. They also committed to training the server to avoid the negative situations I experienced in the future. I greatly appreciate the diligence and commitment to improve their business and customer service. With that in mind, I'm returning my rating to what it would have been prior. In the former Caribou Coffee near La Farm bakery, this is the first Brazilian Boteco. There are a few tables outside, but inside there are several tables on the right and a long bar on the left. Kayla warmly greeted me as the first dinner guest on a late Summer Friday, a few hours before the band starts the salsa music. She kindly explained all the menu options and made recommendations, in addition to shaking up a really tasty Caipirinha! (I went with traditional lime, but strawberry and passion fruit flavors are also available. Coxinha are little breaded balls of a chopped chicken mixture, served with fries. Very tasty! Fries were Ore-Ida, nothing special, but hold on to that! The Picanha came next. This is strips of beefsteak cooked with griddled onions and served with amazing house-made fries that are possibly the best I've had anywhere!! Perfectly crisp on the outside and cooked just right on the inside. They were thin, almost like Steak n Shake, but natural and coated with something that gave them a slightly crunchy texture on the crust!! The Picanha was served as an appetizer, with toothpicks so you could get a strip of steak, dredge it thru the fresh pico sauce, and then dust it with a salty crusty seasoning to your taste. The steak was so tender and juicy, it was amazing! The place quickly picked up velocity, almost as soon as I sat down. By the time the futbol match started, the bar was packed and ten out of the tables were full! Great conversations between groups, loads of laughs and the servers seemed to welcome everyone. As a first-timer, I did not feel left out. Come try it! But get there early. read more

We ordered some coxinhas and it came with fries for $15 (comes with 12 coxinhas) and a guaraná (Brazilian soda). The coxinhas were hot, crunchy and pretty good, could use a little bit more seasoning, but overall yummy. The fries were overcooked, we didn't eat most of it. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Boteco do Brazil is open in the space formerly occupied by Catalan Tapas Bar in Cary. My mom and I sat at the bar and I started off with a beer followed by a caipirinha and she had a beer. For food we split an order of kibe and the feijoada which was the special of the day. The menu was limited when we first went since it just had opened so I'll have to get back soon to try more Brazilian food. read more

We were looking for a late-night eat and, surprisingly, this place was open! The restaurant is so small that they have to share bathrooms with their next-door neighbors, which was not a problem. The food was fresh and priced well for the quality. The mixed drinks were also just as good as the food. The steak was the best of the food we got. The chicken wings were a bit overcooked. We went based on previous reviews. This is not your typical Brazilian steak house. The Pork Belly was fried for so long it was more like cracklings. Very crunchy. The Pichana was bland and from so so cuts of meat. The chicken stroganoff was inedible. The salad with grilled chicken had some sort of green in it that was very strange in flavor and the chicken and vinaigrette dressing were tasteless. There were several items not available on the menu on Valentines night that had gotten good reviews we were not able to try. I made reservations to eat at this subpar dive. I wouldn't even go there after a night of partying with the munchies. The service was slow and had to keep asking for things. Prices were high and food quality was low. Tiny, very basic restaurant, painted an awful shade of dark green. Waitress was charming and friendly. We ordered a traditional Brazilian platter and a serving of chicken wings. We could not eat the food on the platter and what I did eat gave me indigestion all night. I think it was very fatty, my husband thought the pork belly was too salty and the beef rubbery. The wings were the usual, nothing to rave about. The zinger however was the bottle of wine we ordered. We saw $19 on the menu and assumed it was for the bottle, because nowhere did the menu state that it was the price per glass. The bill for the wine was $57 which was a shock, as it was a very light pinot noir that I would have expected to be perhaps $30 max for a bottle, certainly not $57. When we questioned it, we were told that if one ordered a bottle from the wine selection, you were charged the glass price x3. I have never seen wine listed like that on a menu anywhere in the world. Firstly, I would not have paid $19 for a glass of ordinary wine in a restaurant like this, and secondly, not to state either in writing or verbally what their policy was, was deceptive. We do not mind spending money in restaurants but we do mind being deceved and taken advantage of. What a shame that this place which is well located on NW Cary Parkway, is so poorly run. read more

Great service in this little restaurant. Came late on a Monday for a friend's birthday dinner. Wanted to try some place new. This spot is hidden away in a little plaza deep in Cary. You wouldn't think to find Brazilian food here. The waitress/bartender serving us was knowledgable and told us about the food offerings. We got a bunch of appetizers for the table. Since I moved back from New York I've been looking for a Brazilian restaurant that wasn't just all you can eat plates of meat. I was so happy when this place popped up on Yelp. It was very quiet at 4 pm on a Friday. I had an amazing copacabana cocktail and the chicken stroganoff and could not have been happier with my food and the service.
