10 stars for the incredible views at Ventosa!…read more Located in the middle of the Finger Lakes Wine Country, this winery will give you a little taste of Tuscany without having to leave NY. From wine tastings to live music and weddings, Ventosa is the perfect destination spot to enjoy a gorgeous view will enjoying delicious wine. I highly recommend during the warmer months since you really will be captivated by their gorgeous view and will be very tempted to sit outside but might lowkey freeze your butt off if you try to when it's not the perfect weather for it. With gorgeous vines and the view of Seneca lake, this place is incredibly beautiful to get married at. We really enjoyed coming here and getting a bottle of their dry Riesling and enjoying the lake view while we had a light lunch. Their cafe food is just ok but I'm happy they do have a variety of hot and fresh food and not just cheese and charcuterie boards (which we love but somethings you just need a little something more). Ordering at the cafe is pretty easy, there's no table service, you order directly at the counter and when the food is ready, it'll get delivered to you. They offer up sandwiches, pizza, wraps and soups to name a few. Bottom line, great spot to enjoy the gorgeous outdoor space while sipping vino, do a little picnic and even hang out with your dog, they're welcome in the outside space only.

Nice place with a view but I think the customer service is lacking. Small tasting bar.read more

Rachel our server was great at getting the girls real coloring books and a big assortment of crayons. Somebody is really thinking about the little kids. Huge selection of New York beers, wines, and ciders. I tasted the girl's cheese pizza. This is not your average cheese pizza. I truly wish I had taken the time to analyze the complexity of the sauce, because I would love to make something half as nice. Omah (the grandmother, my wife) had fried ravioli. The shells were nice, golden and crunchy. But the cheese filling was some magical mixture of mozz and ricotta that dazzled my tongue. I had the NY Burger. Background: I am not a New Yorker. I was raised in the deep South, and up to now had questioned the value of anything "New York." (Excepting my grandchildren and their mom, of course.) I expect pretentious and parochial, over-priced and lacking value. The burger I had at New York Kitchen was the best I've ever had. I'm 72. I'm a meat eater. I've eaten thousands and thousands of burgers. Hands down this was the best, ever. The meat itself was super tasty and juicy, perfectly cooked to my specification. The brioche roll was perfect. The Bibb lettuce and tomato perfect, too. The sauce? Magic and mystifying. I didn't expect a lot going in to the restaurant, because the architecture is striking. (In my experience, focus on environment takes focus off the food. New York Kitchen breaks all of my rules. I am so happy to have been there. Thanks to my son and his family!

The ambience and gardens outside were also wonderful and wish we came a bit earlier to enjoy the lake views. Check-in is easy and classroom is right when you come in. The stations were well laid out with everything you needed. Our Chef Eli was very entertaining and we learnt some new knife cutting skills. The menu for us was German Oktoberfest themed with pork schnitzel, homemade spaetzle, and a harvest sauté vegetables. We throughly enjoyed the experience and class also came with 2 drinks and the meal you cooked together to enjoy. It was nice to support this wonderful 501c3 organization but do think the tickets are quite pricey for what you get.

Reviewing the hotel and the Stonecutter's restaurant. Hotel:…read morePositives: close proximity to Geneva, especially if you are seeing a show at the Smith Opera House. Beautiful grounds if the weather is good. On Seneca Lake....gorgeous. Wine spigot in the hotel hallway ( limited to one glass per person). We received a coupon for the wine tasting with 10% off of alcohol purchases in the store. The Continental breakfast had a nice assortment of drinks and cold items. Negatives: one word comes to mind...dated. Our room was small with a very limited lake view. The windows haven't been cleaned in a very long time. The television is tiny, like a computer monitor. The spring rod to the curtains kept springing off every time I tried to open or close the drape. The shower is tiny and you can barely turn around. There are few outlets, the only ones I was able to access that worked were in the bathroom ( only one of the double outlet was functional). The carpet in our room appeared to be about thirty years old and worn. This room, called the clay room was advertised on the website to have a queen bed and a refurbished bathroom. The bathroom has not been touched in years and the queen bed turned out to be a full-size bed. Stonecutters: wonderful waitress, who kept our beverages filled and was attentive. My broccoli cheddar soup had negligible cheddar or broccoli. My salad with grilled shrimp was okay. My husband's Cuban sandwich arrived on a stale roll and he thought the fries (weirdly shaped) were reheated. His chili arrived lukewarm. Not a good experience overall. Despite this, the staff are lovely, upbeat and helpful.
