They had a sparkling wine that was semi-dry and would make pretty decent mimosas. I liked that they also had beers from a Belgian brewery based out of Geneva. We came with our 2 kids and everyone was so kind and lovely to us - I am not sure who our server was, but she brought my daughter paper and colored pencils to play with while I did my tasting. We very much enjoyed our visit here. They are friendly to all demographics. When we arrived, there was a semi rowdy, bachelorette party wrapping up their visit, but we were a group of four adults and two small children, and they were very friendly and engaged with us as well. This is our vote for one of the best wineries on Seneca Lake! After visiting a couple of other tasting rooms in the area and feeling a bit underwhelmed, the hospitality that we received after walking in the door at Prejean was such a breath of fresh air. Right from the start, Amy was so kind and made us feel right at home - pull up a chair, get settled in, enjoy the experience. She walked us through the tasting and was very in-depth about each wine, answering every silly question I had and enlightening us about the region. Out of all the wineries we visited, we learned the most about Finger Lakes wines from Amy at Prejean and enjoyed ourselves immensely along the way. Not to mention that we really loved the flavor of the wine here! One of our favorites was Ethereal, which is effervescent and almost drinks like a Prosecco. We brought a few bottles home for Sunday brunch. But their Goldfinch Dry Riesling is also not to be missed. The views of Seneca Lake are stunning and there are little tables out front to sit and linger on a nice day. We also had a great time perusing their gift shop with lots of lovely handmade goods. This winery is not to be missed while visiting the Finger Lakes, especially if you appreciate good conversation over delicious wine. read more

This was a great stop! We originally picked this spot because it emphasized that they were dog friendly. Dogs could come right into the tasting room and they even had a fenced in area for dogs to run and play. In addition, they had a great outside area to sit and enjoy a glass. I visited this winery last Wednesday and by far it was my favorite winery I've been to on Seneca Lake. By no means am I a wine connoisseur, but I definitely enjoy a tasty drink. My friend and I both got a tasting of 5 wines each. All of the wines were delicious, but my personal favorite was Tiger Lily. It was a perfect blush wine in my opinion. Not only was the wine delicious but the service was stellar. The server was personable and so so kind, making an effort to develop a connection with us. The setting was quite beautiful as well, with beautiful outdoor seating under a gazebo. An extremely positive experience, and the first place I will be visiting when I go back to the FLX region. read more

My husband and I stumbled upon Prejean because it is one of the only wineries open until 5:30 on Thursdays and we're so glad we did! We split a tasting and enjoyed all of the wines, particularly the rose. We spent awhile chatting with our pourer, which is one of my favorite parts of the wine tasting experience. Had such a great time at Prejean! We visited over Memorial Day. The weather was not great so we opted to sit inside. We brought our dog and the staff was so sweet to him. It's a winery kind of on the smaller side, but with a nice selection, and laid back vibe to come in and do a tasting. I really loved this winery on my trip to the Finger Lakes last year. Their Chardonnay is out of this world, and I also really liked their Rieslings, both the semi-dry and the semi-sweet. I have visited this winery several times over the past 10 years and my palate has changed but I have always liked their wine. This was the very winery I ever visited when I turned 21 so obviously I only liked sweet wines then and they had stuff I liked then (don't ask me what now). Then when I was 24 it was my first stop for cursing the lake and I enjoyed their wine then. Now at 31 almost 32 (eek) I still very much enjoy their wines. I am a lover of dry Riesling's and theirs hits the spot. It's very affordable priced ($14.99 for a bottle) plus I do enjoy their reds as well. I know many say you can't get a good red in the finger lakes but I think you can it's just a different type. Overall it's a great winery, I will continue to stop here and enjoy the wine and views. read more

I must admit that this was our 8th winery of the day, so some of the wines are a little foggy. The wine themselves were very good. My wife, father, and I prefer dry wines; and their dry wines were very good. My Mother prefers sweeter wines, and she said she enjoyed their wines. We've been going to Prejean every wine trip for many years. (It's actually usually our first stop.) The people are super friendly and the place is unpretentious. The wine is consistently good and has a variety of price points. The tasting is affordable - 5 (or more) for $5 and you get a coupon for a couple bucks off if you buy a bottle. I love their cabs and they also do a Marechal Foch that is very good. I'm a mostly dry red girl, but everything they have is reported to be good by friends and family. read more

I lived in Syracuse in the mid to late 90s, and Prejean was one of our favorite wineries to visit. The woman behind the counter used to always recognize my wife, so we always got a nice welcome. The wines were always good, especially the whites like the gewurstraminer and reisling. It's been a long time since I've been, but if I still lived in the area, I'd be sure to stop by. Also, they used to make great mulled wine during winter. If you can get there on a winter day in the middle of the week, you'll have the place all to yourself. read more

Local and friendly feel here. Nothing fancy but very tasty Rieslings and they even have a Cab Sauv and Cab Sauv blend that are respectable. Definitely don't see a lot of that in the region. There is a lot to like about Prejean Winery: great dry and semi-dry wines (even for me, a semi-sweet drinker), knowledgeable, friendly staff, who are very attentive, and amazing ports. Prejean seems to specialize in the semi-dry, which is unusual for the Finger Lakes region, known for sweet and semi-sweet wines. They also have a large number of reds, again, unusual for a mostly white-wine area. They also have a sweet red, which I found to be a bit cloying; and a semi-dry red blend which was excellent. I was, however, disapointed with the Pinot Gris. There was nothing bad about it, it just wasn't very exciting. The owners are the staff, at least when we were there, and they are both friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable--and very good salespeople. Expect to walk out with more wine than you intended. My favorites there were the ports. I am not really a port drinker or expert, so take what I say with that in mind, but the two ports I sampled and purchased were the best I have ever had. Sweet without being cloying, fruity and just bit tangy, they had a rich, velvety feel in my mouth. Loved them! One of my favorite wineries to visit in the Finger Lakes. They have the best sweet wines, many of them have received awards. The selection of dry wines is great too, though I am a fan of sweet wines in general. Staff is consistently friendly and helpful. Cute little gift items in the shop. Love their t-shirts, saying "Life is too short to drink bad wine." All of the wines are made from grapes right there in the field, nothing imported. My wife and I are fine wine lovers who have traveled to the Finger Lakes for our anniversary every fall for the last 20 years. Over that time we have come to think of Prejean as a must stop winery. Overall the wines are exceptional and well crafted, nothing but the most obvious love of wine making as science and art. No commercial puppy mill for weekend tasters here. Art in a glass without undue pretense or attitude. During our visits we have also come to know Tom Prejean, the owner and wine maker whose passion exudes from initial nose to lingering after taste. I has not been all perfect. There was a year when some Chardonnay seemed to turn too quickly once we got it home and Tom, passion now for customer service, promptly replaced the defective bottles. A tip of the hat to you Tom Prejean. We, for two, appreciate your craft and thank you for your work. We would be great friends if we lived closer and, who knows, perhaps the distance won't be the biggest obstacle! In the meantime, I toast you with some exceptional Reserve Chardonnay. read more
