The grounds are gorgeous, and great for weddings or other events. We decided to try a red & blended wine flight. I really enjoyed the dry Rosato Rose. It is rare to find a winery that will hold their wines so they acquire the best taste! it was difficult to decide which wines to purchase. So, we purchased a bottle that we enjoyed with our yummy lunch. During lunch, we had the difficult decision of which wines to purchase. I highly recommend during the warmer months since you really will be captivated by their gorgeous view and will be very tempted to sit outside but might lowkey freeze your butt off if you try to when it's not the perfect weather for it. With gorgeous vines and the view of Seneca lake, this place is incredibly beautiful to get married at. We really enjoyed coming here and getting a bottle of their dry Riesling and enjoying the lake view while we had a light lunch. Their cafe food is just ok but I'm happy they do have a variety of hot and fresh food and not just cheese and charcuterie boards (which we love but somethings you just need a little something more). Ordering at the cafe is pretty easy, there's no table service, you order directly at the counter and when the food is ready, it'll get delivered to you. They offer up sandwiches, pizza, wraps and soups to name a few. Bottom line, great spot to enjoy the gorgeous outdoor space while sipping vino, do a little picnic and even hang out with your dog, they're welcome in the outside space only. read more

By far, my favorite winery on Seneca Lake. This places makes you feel like you're in Tuscany! Beautiful views overlooking the vineyards and the lake, so the sunsets were spectacular. We visited on a Wednesday so they had happy hour (BOGO drinks) as well as live music!! It was so fun and we really had a good time! Good food here - delicious pizzas and salads! We love the atmosphere, having come for some live music to accompany our wine tasting. And, there is a stunningly beautiful view at sunset. Those are the facts. In my opinion the wines here just ok but that's very subjective! We like dryer wines with less fruit and medium tannins - easy-drinking. But others may love the style of wines they've cultivated here, and that's ok too! We'd still come back for how much fun we had here. read more

Walking into Ventosa Vineyards takes you away from New York and brings you to Tuscany. Once you arrive you go right to one of their two bars. Once you get there, you have three choices. You can order food from their cafe, you can sample their different wines, and/or do a flight. If you are sampling their wines, then you stay at the bar to sample them. If you are doing a flight, you wait for the flight and then you can take it outside or stay inside. If it is a gorgeous day, you are going to want to go outside. The view outside is absolutely beautiful! The view will take your breath away. If you are looking for a winery in the Finger Lakes with a beautiful view, then Ventosa is the place for you! read more

We finally stopped at a winery we've passed by many times before but never visited--until now. We did a tasting of several wines, and I started with the Dry Riesling, which had lovely hints of apricot and orange peel. Next, I tried the 2020 Tocai Friulano, which had a grapefruit aroma but was incredibly smooth and delicious. Then, I sampled the 2020 Pinot Gris, which had notes of peach and kiwi with a touch of sweetness on the finish. My favorite was the Tocai Friulano--I couldn't leave without taking a bottle home. Our server shared a fun story about a woman from Georgia who visits once a year just to buy three cases of it, using it to make sangria for her annual party. read more

Wow! I decided to add this as our last stop as we headed back home, and I am so happy we visited. The views are gorgeous, especially from the balcony. The ladies behind the bar were personable and made the wine tastings very enjoyable. This is the only vineyard we visited that had red wines that I purchased (the Merlot was awesome). We decided to get something to eat and enjoy a bottle of wine on the balcony. The food looked delicious and it was amazing. We got cream of asparagus soup, cheesy garlic bread and a charcuterie plate. Everything was top notch. We were visiting the finger lakes region for a wedding and wanted to try a winery. Issue is that there are wineries EVERYWHERE, so how do you choose! Ventosa came recommended by our family, so we decided to make the stop. I am so glad we did! We sat on the gorgeous outdoor patio overlooking the vineyard, and had a lovely lunch and some wine. The ordering process is very user-friendly, and everything was great! I was surprised by how good their food was as well - the pizzas are awesome with a little white wine I highly recommend making the stop at Ventosa! We were here on a Wednesday afternoon. The ambience was serene and beautiful. We chose outdoor seating as the weather was just perfect. The Cafe Toscana has limited menu. I like the system where we just mark what we want on the menu and give them and wait for it on your table. This way, we are not often bothered by waiters when you want a calm and romantic time. The white wine - pinot gris was amazing. We loved it! The artisan pizza was super fresh and flavorful. My wife also liked their side salad. The cheesy garlic bread tasted good but I wish they had some herbs sprinkled on the top. They have a wide selection of white, rose and red wines which is kinda obvious considering it's a vineyard and the place is beautiful right along the lake. The views that this winery has are very pretty. Their wine is good, but on the pricier side for Seneca Lake wineries. Their food was also fine, but very expensive for what you got. I don't think the sandwiches we got were worth the price. We were here around 3 on a Friday and a bachelorette party came in and they were yelling and very excited while doing a tasting, which was very unpleasant for my party and everyone else eating, as they did their tasting at a bar directly behind the dining tables. The staff definitely could have placed them better, as we couldn't hear each other talking. If someone suggested coming here again, I would, but likely not for a meal. read more

Weve been to this winery before and enjoy the wines. We've had two negative experiences with the kitchen staff and that's why I'm writing, one was bad enough but two is unacceptable. We went to order food and the man behind the counter was baffled when we asked for a pizza to go. We said we're at the tasting bar we going to taste and then take our wine and pizza to another location to eat by the lake, and this was explained to him. He asked us three times for a table number & we explained our plans three times!, he took our money, and we went for a tasting. When it was done 15 minutes later, we bought a bottle of wine and we went to get our pizza and he looked confused and told us he forgot to make it, we didn't get into with him, but how do you have an interaction with a customer, take their money and then forget to cook their order? It wasn't busy by any means, it was 2:00 in the afternoon. He said I'll make it now; we said no thanks give back our $ and he did with no apology. I hope someone speaks to this guy and tells him to get his head in the game; if he can't take a simple order on a slow day, what is he doing on a busy day? read more

For a family get together of 40 people that was unplanned till 4 days prior to the event, the event couldn't have turned out any better. This was only possible because the venue was picturesque, food was amazing, the staff was friendly that went over and beyond. Chef Ernesto and Victor were of immense help as the Chef was able to accommodate us last minute and Victor was able to help us organize, coordinate and make it easy on us. I would say, I ate one of the best pizzas and I actually took it home and the crust was still crispy. Everyone at the party loved the food and they were accommodating enough to bring our on food as they couldn't help us out with more add on as it was last minute. My partner and I had a wonderful afternoon visit to Ventosa! What a stunning space with a sprawling outdoor area, gorgeous views from the patio, banquet hall, and wine tasting room. I see what all the hype is about in terms of a great wedding venue - it looks like it would provide the most beautiful day imaginable. We headed for the tasting room since we weren't really up for lunch. We got settled with our marker and a meny and made our selection of $5 wines. The tasting is currently $10. We mixed up our tasting with a wide variety of Ventosa's offerings. I really enjoyed my red selections significantly more than the whites, with the Cab Franc and Lemberger coming out as favorites. I am looking forward to going to Ventosa again very soon and trying some food items. Location is right at the top of Seneca Lake which makes for ease of access and in close proximity to Rochester. We came here while visiting family in Rochester for the Thanksgiving holiday week. A larger group, but they were able to get us some tables together and we did the rest. It's fast casual- so you order up at the front, then if you order drinks you proceed to that area prior to sitting down. They then will bring you the food as it is ready to go! Railyn was working the orders when we went in, imagine 14 people, including 5 children from 4-18 showing up out of the blue. We got our orders in, then proceeded to get our wine and then sit down. Lots of same orders, the garlic bread was a super popular dish there. I went with the daily special, the chili which was spicy and warming, just what was needed at the time because it was freezing and windy outside! There are some interesting items for sale here besides wine, and it's probably super beautiful during the spring and summer here by the lake. Views are so amazing from this side of Seneca Lake. These days, it's important to support small businesses. We want to be sure that these places survive and thrive, when big chains and fast food, fast casual seems to dominate the food landscape now. Pricing is always a concern, but sometimes spending the extra money for supporting a business like this is worth it. read more

A Sunday drive to Geneva brought me back to Ventosa Vineyards after a few years. We sat outside on the veranda with a beautiful view overlooking the vineyards n lake w sailboats in the distance. We were entertained by relaxing songs provided by an accordion player sitting in a corner. They no longer offer full table service n a dinner menu since Covid came on us but the simplified selections offered are balanced. Food n wines are ordered n paid for at separate counters but your food order is brought to your table n cleared by waitstaff. All Menu items are paired with a wine. I ordered a side salad w homemade white balsamic dressing. The salad was full of good greens, vegetables n a one of the best salad dressings I've tasted. The salad was paired w a dry Riesling. I was in the mood for pizza w my salad n decided on the Classico. This pizza has one of the best tasting crusts I've had. With a perfect amount of sauce n fresh tasting ingredients like the cup pepperoni which was a curled n crispy topping. Although I haven't tried they offer a gluten free option for a dollar more. So make the drive to enjoy the Fall weather, a beautifully laid out vineyard n restaurant for good food n drink. read more

The prices were all reasonable, there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the view of the lake was beautiful. We were on the fence about getting a wine tasting but opted to skip it. Their tasting experience could definitely use some work. I was in the area and wanted to check this place out. The minute we pulled up to the parking lot I was amazed but how grand the entrance was it remind me a lot of Tuscany, Italy. It happened that the Corvette Club was having lunch at the winery so seeing all their cars parked was a beautiful view. They have $5 tastings for 5 wines. I found the prices super cheap and the wines were pretty good. After our tasting we decided to get some lunch and a bottle and sit outside enjoying the beautiful view.
