We recently purchased a house that needed a new roof because it had no plywood covering the actual house. All the tiles were safely garnished and reused. We had a rather large leak coming from our roof into two bedrooms. I called Bottom Dollar Roofing and spoke with the owner Keith. He came out to our home and did an inspection and found a considerable amount of breakage on our tile roof which caused damage to the plywood from sun exposure. Keith was very professional and gave us several options for the repair. While we were deciding which way we wanted to go, he came to our home, and covered the leak wit a tarp on as we had a few days of rain coming our way. He was so patient with us while we were trying to make our decision, that we decided against just doing a repair and had the entire roof done. The expense for the complete job was extremely fair and reasonable for what needed to be done. The job was completed within 3 days as promised and the work was done very professional. Bottom Dollar Roofing repaired and tuned up our roof for a fair price, in the promised time, and with minimum fuss. All our roof ridge caps were damaged during the last thunderstorm in May this year. We had to wait until September to be able to afford to repair it. Bottom Dollar Roofing was one of only two companies that bothered to respond to our request for a roof repair estimate on Yelp that we put out two weeks ago. The other responding company made it clear they would not even come out to look at our roof unless we were looking to do a complete replacement. Bottom Dollar owner, Keith, came to do the estimate within two days of making contact. On the day of our appointment he came back to do the estimate a second time because we had missed each other by a few minutes earlier in the day. Keith's assessment of the damage and his proposal for ridge cap repair and tune up to fix previous bad workmanship and potential problems was clear, simple, and straightforward, on par with another larger, reputable, and local company that we contacted independently based on a friend's recommendation. Keith and Bottom Dollar Roofing were able to promise to complete all the work within a week after I signed off on their estimate. They were as good as their word. Bottom Dollar's worker, Wyatt, who was assigned to do our job worked quickly, carefully, and professionally on the repairs. I found Keith on Yelp & because of the reviews. My husband gave him a call. He came right out to give us a quote on a leak. We had called another company a few weeks prior that quoted us $1800, so imagine my joy when my husband told me it was going to cost $900. He told us he was very busy & the time frame he could return, we were fine with it since the weather had turned hot & rain was not in the forecast. He returned sooner than expected & completed the job, at the cost of the quote. While he was here my husband asked for a quote on our very problematic balcony. This balcony has always been an issue with our house & all the models in our complex. We had it fixed about 4 years ago, knowing that it was just a temp fix. Neighbors all share their stories of how they have fixed or attempted to fix their balcony. Keith gave us the quote & as his name says, Bottom Dollar. Over the years the balcony repair has been quoted several times, all with different remedies & at outrageous prices. Keith quoted $1550 & said it'd be a few weeks until he could complete the job. Had a leak in my roof and I called up this company for a quote. The quote was overpriced and my attic was never inspected for further damage. I contacted two other companies who went up in my attic and on my roof and I was told that the reason for my leak was because of some tiles that had shifted. They both advised that I did not need all the work that was quoted by this company. One of the companies charged me a small fee for adjusting the tiles that were needed and even repaired some of the tiles that were broken. I need fascia replaced, and a attic fan replaced that leaked and didn't have a motor. I called five different companies to provide estimates and suggestions for a few problem spots. I got a great vibe from Keith when he came out to do the estimate. He listened to what I wanted done and provided some options and explained what the options would entail so I could make a better informed choice. Keith's price also came in at the lowest cost. I went with Keith's suggestion for fascia boards by Vintage. In seeing these boards, I'm glad I went with them as they are engineered boards made up of three different boards with the grain going in different direction to eliminate cupping and warping. The job was started on the promised date and was finished in the promised time frame. It was evident that the crew that he has knows what they are doing and while Keith was there the entire time, he was there often and made sure everything was on track and going as needed. Bottom line: you get what you pay for. I went with this company because of they gave me the best price for the job (no surprise!). However, the quality of work, follow up, communication was just meh. Looking back, I would prefer to pay more for peace of mind, knowing that I wouldn't have to "oversee" the work for Bottom Dollar. This was a frustrating experience overall- since Keith was not working on site and only visited the job site once or twice a day, which makes it quite difficult for him to give appropriate directions to his workers. For example, he had told me over the phone that one of his workers was to begin the torchdown on the roof that morning. However, when I reached the jobsite, I noticed that there was a huge gap in the roof and missing plywood- definitely NOT ready for torchdown. I should not have had to leave notes for his worker and call Keith to notify him of this- there was unnecessary pressure for me to monitor the roofer's work. After the job was done, I noticed a dent on my rain gutters- probably from roofers hauling away huge sheets of plywood and throwing them off the roof. Also noticed some old roof debris left on the roof, so the clean-up was a bit careless. But this is no big deal and Keith offered to "fix" the dent, but just maybe my expectations were a bit too high? Anyhow, it's been a few weeks, and the torch down seems like it has been done well. So far, so good- no leaks! I will update this review if I notice otherwise. read more
