Building some covers for my appliances but doesn't mean i cant make em look cute too. I also picked up an Embroidery kit and extra pieces. I couldn't find the fabric i needed for that. I wanted something in the super fine. Talked myself out of buying the canvas they sell for it because you can up cycle old jeans for it. Fits my purpose perfectly. I want to make cute custom patches. Starting small and latter ill do like a big one like for jacket or to hang on a wall. I will be back for a circuit in the future. Im interested on a the cutter or the iron and sublimation ones. They made a compact of the cutter one also. I dont have alot of room, this would serve my purpose perfectly. The cup one and iron ones be great for like going to fairs n opening a table to do "on the spot" jobs. Did the mistake of going to the bargain corner. Picked up a car model lit for 7.50. I thought it was like the old school ones i used to buy when i was a kid. They are not. They used to be made of metal. This one was like pvc. Very delicate. I will share the finished one when done. I went with my walker this time but i was being hurried by my company otherwise i would had walked out with more lol

Several different options from covers, lined, unlined, dotted, smaller/closer lines vs more widely ruled.... I have tiny handwriting, especially with my better, more fine tipped pens I prefer to journal with, so finding a closely ruled journal I like isn't always easy. The wrapping paper options were also lovely, and the selection of items around the shop for not only journaling and book themed things was great, unusual but often undervalued items. My friend finally found more reusable makeup rounds, complete with their own storage bag, after she's been looking for a few months to replace the ones she's had and used for years but are starting to show some definite wear. The cashier and person assisting with stocking were both friendly and helpful without being pushy/overly involved (ALWAYS appreciated as an introvert!). I found not only the perfect journal for my preferences but also picked up a small craft project and both were very fair in price.

I did realize though that I am very errr.. particular, so perhaps painting is not my artistic future. Sophie was incredibly helpful when it came to getting started and progressing along, plus mixing colors to achieve the look I wanted. Bonus that cool tunes were playing throughout our painting. I am really happy with how the portrait of my kitten turned out. We even left with our pictures in an upcycled frame. She has a bunch of fun things planned for the future, so I can definitely say I'll be a regular. Parking was easy as there is free lot attached to the building. There was no preparation before hand so the wax was not melted when it came time to pour. We had to wait while it melted. We ended up leaving without our candles. We had to return to pick them up in a couple days. We were told that they would be ready upon our return. They were not.

I emailed the studio and was instructed to come to an open studio session. It was free style. The staff was polite, but it is not a workshop. I thought I would learn the craft, including how to mix resin. If I had known that it is studio time with supplies added I would have found a picture, sketched it at home on my own 11x14 canvas (which is $15 extra) and brought in other media to complete my project. Example: twigs and leaves brought from home and make glass birds to sit on the branch. I know they don't make much off of Groupon, but I use Groupon to try new places, not for the cheap deal. A true workshop would have resulted in my repeat business.

Note that you will need to pay extra for consumable materials such as glass (that you select), homasote board, solder, solutions (ex., patina), zinc came, etc. Don't be surprised if you lay out about $175+ for these extra materials (depending on your chosen glass). You will spend a minimum of 5 weeks to complete your project. I work fast, even taking some activities to do at home, and it took me 8 weeks (I did a 61-piece project). Other attendees will take 12 weeks or more, based on their abilities. The good thing is that the studio will not charge you extra for additional weeks. They will support you as many weeks as needed until you finish. If you are not the crafty type, pick "easier" patterns that require less/bigger glass pieces. Cody and helper Steve were super instructors. They provided help at every step, demonstrating what to do and how, then allowing you to try and be proficient at it. They were patient, and always willing to answer questions or step in when needed. I loved the class so much, and learned enough that I have invested in my own equipment to do more as my new hobby. I would recommend participating with a friend or family member, so that you can share purchased supplies. This did take me 12 classes to complete, so plan on it taking you 9 or more classes to complete your piece. The supplies required are purchased as needed each week. Tools are provided as part of the class. I would budget $300 to complete your piece, $250 if sharing supplies (glass, glue, solder, flux, frame etc..). I would recommend buying an extra piece of practice glass to work on glass cutting before trying to cut your project glass. I would also spend a little more money on your favorite glass colors and textures. My glass for my butterfly was more expensive, but it made my project and I love it! You will learn new skills each week and have fun!

I had an expensive canvas print framed there. It was by a prominent artist. I was disappointed…read morewhen I picked up the picture. The frame was scratched and the matting had one ink stain and another stain near the name plate that I'm not sure what it is. I paid for it anyway because I felt sorry for the elderly woman who is the office manager. When I pointed out the stain and scratch, she used a pencil eraser on the stain( made it worse) and tried to rub out the scratch with a lead pencil tip. I told her to stop. They just don't seem to be up to today's standards. Anyway, they are very nice. I just wish I had listened to my gut feeling when I first walked in there!
