I stop in here after I go hiking. The place is huge- it has pool tables, seating, and stools at a wooden bar. Their food prices are fair, and fairly lower than other bars in the area. The food and service were good, and very fast. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 12 minutes after placing an order to eat. The staff checks in on you whenever you look ready to order, or whenever your drinks start to look empty. If you're a sandwich/sub type of person, I recommend their Philly cheesesteak! The amazing this is three were three waitresses and a bartender just standing at the bar and all of four of them looked at us several times and still chose to ignore us. We stopped here after the Renaissance festival. One of our friends said she comes here afterward every time. It was a great spot that doesn't look like much from the street. But it's a super fun spot! We all ordered pizza and it was delicious! Beers were cold and the service was friendly. It was storming like crazy so we didn't get to check out the outside area but we were told it is pretty cool! Since the Ren Fen will be a yearly thing for us now, this will likely also become yearly. What to expect from Bottoms Up! I feel confident in reviewing this place as many times as I've given them an honest try (at least 6-7). I won't be going back. The wait staff has always been adequate, not wonderful, but certainly adequate. Their food is of the lowest quality and tiny quantity, their drinks are overpriced and poor, and their draft beer lines probably haven't been cleaned since the 80's, if ever. For what you get, it would be somewhat forgiven if their prices were good, but they're not. For instance this evening... I ordered a draft Labatt Lite. It came so lactic that it tasted foul and smelled like rotten milk. The server definitely understood and traded it in for a well drink (thank you). Let's clean those lines, people. The food around the table was a joke, honestly. A chicken Caesar salad that might have had 5 small bites of chicken on it, my hoagie that might have had 2 oz of total meat on it, the spicy cheese balls that were absolutely tiny and there were only 15 of them in the whole basket. The folks with us got "supreme" nachos. The nachos had a tiny layer of melted cheese atop almost no toppings and maybe 2 oz of nasty quality beef. My fries were all tiny, clearly the bottom of the bag, and were greasy as could be. Four well drinks, an order of cheese balls, a sandwich, and two salads came to $102 after a 20% tip for the server. We were coming from skiing/snowboarding across the street and we were celebrating a friends birthday. The staff was nice and give each one an individual tab; they were speedy as well. There are saviors of ours every year on 4th of July weekend. Most of those times have been in Show Low in Arizona for past few years. But since we've moved to Midwest now (Shfew ! thank god for no more of stupid, arrogant and more importantly, non-elected interim Governors), Bottom's Up has been the one in 2010... There aren't more than 2 places to eat in Holly, MI according to a friend of mine who grew up in Holly and we were lucky to find one open over the weekend... :D Cartoon on their outside name board was hilarious, soup was delicious, food was good, beer was cheap and staff was friendly... what else do you need to rate a restaurant 4 stars... We stopped for lunch with our kids after a day at the Oakland County beach nearby. I called ahead to make sure it was OK to bring our family since some of these yelp reviews implied otherwise - they were really nice and said yes, of course! The kids had kids meals - pretty well priced, came out quickly, fries were really good too - the hot dog was a large all beef hotdog, not a little Oscar Meyer type hot dog. We had the Thursday Burger / beer and burger / soda combos. Food was good ! Came with homemade potato chips which were great. I did appreciate the server being honest that the soup is NOT made fresh in house - so I decided not to order it. Food came out quickly, our server was really friendly and kept up with drink refills, brought crackers for the baby, thanked us for picking them all up from around her chair. They have lots of TVs, high ceilings, outdoor volleyball court. Nice menu, lots of space inside. Plenty of parking. There were 2 Michigan State Police K9 units having lunch there too. I take this as a good sign ! As a side note, I think it is really lame to give a 1 star review and potentially affect a small business because the music was too loud. When we were there for lunch, there was no loud music and I think this is not the intention of Yelp. The review should reflect the food and experience. read more

The place is nothing special. Have stopped in a couple times but won't go back. Prices are high for the quality of food. Wait is long too and staff doesn't come back to check on you. The final straw is having a convenience fee added to the bill when paying with our debit card. They should let you know a few will be added. Even though it was only 1.68 it's the principal of having fees added. I use my debit card everywhere and this is the only place I've been to that added a few. read more

I was charged an additional 3% for using a Visa credit card, which I believe is against a Merchant Services agreement. Totally a scam. The waitress told me its posted on the entry door that they charge 3% more for using credit cards. The sign on the door was less than 3 inches by 5 inches and was in 11 font. Such crap. My advice? What a wonderful surprise! We stopped in after hiking all day in the Rec area. As a vegetarian , I expected to end up with a fried appetizer since a cold salad wasn't going to satisfy on a Dec. afternoon. I'm really not a fan of fried food either, so I inquired about the soup of the day. To my delight, a vegetarian chili was offered. Let me say, it was one of the best I ever had. You made my day!!! Went here for the first time today to see our sister who just got a job here serving..... Great atmosphere and great opportunity for good business.... but the prices are so off. Way over priced drinks, shots, etc. Menu is a nice variety, but still, pricy. Nice staff, clean bar, but just putting it out there with the wrong prices.... Loud, in-your-face music, typical greasy overcooked barfood, and not so pleasant service makes this a one star for me. When we asked the DJ to turn down the music, he argued with me. Went there for taco Tuesday. They were good tacos, but they charged for every little thing. Down to the sauce. The restaurant allows smoking in the outdoor eating area. When we complained, they asked the person to move, but the next time we came, people were smoking again. There are ash trays on the tables.
