Place has been here since 1949. A fun dive bar, with way better than average food. Plenty of regulars. Shared a Reuben sandwich and a French dip. Both were really good & large. Sandwich comes with chips - fries are an up charge. Added in 2 tall draft beers. With tip just under $30.

This little bar has fantastic food! They change their food specials all the time, but some of my go-to favorites are the soft pretzels, the burger & the wedge salad. The staff is pretty great too!

I've eaten at this local pub many times over my many years in the area. Having recently moved back to the area I've really enjoyed coming back to one of my old watering holes as a youth! As of spring and early summer 2022 this place deserves the "world famous burger" title they display upon entering. They taste as delicious and are as fresh as they were back in my younger years! Great drinks, Keno available, extremely friendly waitstaff and a local pub vibe. In this day of record inflation and price gouging it's refreshing to have a few drinks and a decent burger with your spouse for under $25

As my finace just said to me, "anything grilled or fried there is great! Anything else, shouldn't be eaten." Some places are good at lots of things. If you're looking for that place, go to Champps. Others, are good at just a few things. They have a menu that is a folded piece of paper because you don't really need the menu. This is one of those places! And the thing, is a delicious, juicy and perfectly cooked hamburger. Let's talk about great bar hamburgers. You can always tell a great burger joint by a waiter or waitresses reaction to your order. Do they ask you how you want it cooked...then it's not a good burger place! If you're looking for a burger bar where the choices are between 1/3 or 1/2 pound, cheese or no cheeses, and with or without fries...now you're talking. This place boasts "Detroit's best burger," "the world's best burger," and about five other superlatives. I don't know who bestowed these rankings, but they were accurate. A little bar on the west side of Dixie Hwy past where humanity should live, is a place called the Springfield Inn. The tables and chairs have been in this place since it opened as have some of the staff and customers who appear to be permanent fixtures, but they do burgers and beer very well, and the beer comes by the bucket. I know I'm normally Yelping about fancy diners and uppity places that I go to on my travels, but this little gem moved me to write. As a kid who grew up in Utica Michigan, the Shamrock bar and grill was the place the locals went to get a great burger and beer. I've found its doppelganger. The burgers are great...cooked perfectly in the way that only a well seasoned grill can make them. They served on paper plates housed in plastic coasters. Classy, no...fantastically good, yes. They don't ask you what you want on it because it's a bar burger. A few minutes before the burger arrives, you get a tray with piles of pickles, onions and lettuce and tomatoes as well as mustard, ketchup and mayo. Want something else, go somewhere else. Did I mention I love places that know they're good at what they do? When the burger arrives it's a healthy sized burger with a fresh bun. It's loaded with melted cheese and seasoned perfectly. The burger is a juicy medium, as a good burger ought to be. And it's great. I've had burgers that cost twice as much (it was 6.95 for the 1/2 lb with fries...come on!), and tasted half as good. The waitstaff, even despite a changeover, was fantastic and attentive. The first waitress was still there, drinking at the bar when we left. I think I'm the first to Yelp this place, but I won't be the last. If you're ever in the norther part of of southeastern Michigan and you're looking for a place to find burger heaven...look no further. This place has what you're looking for and does it with an unassuming confidence that you can only find in a place that does what it does well and has no need to do anything else. Well done!

Fantastic experience and food at the Woodshop…read more Sat at the Main bar on a Wednesday night . Belle is an amazing bartender !! Chicken , veggie, sauces and service .. all outstanding . We will be back soon .

(I am not going to review the english dictation...I blame Siri, what after 15 years has not…read moreimproved much.) Let me start by saying that Clarkson appears to be acquaint little town. They have done a lot of makeover, converted booming businesses that we're going under into restaurants. Now it appears to be a booming restaurant Village. (Does Kid Rock really own this place...who cares? Building "makeovers" are all the rage. The issue is when they cut corners and and don't do a complete makeover. This restaurants men's restroom needs the door to be updated and brought into the modern age. You could not shut the door without yanking it shut to make sure it would lock. The handle has no function except to pull on it. When I was done and trying to leave, I thought I was locked in and was going to need to call my son-in-law to come and get me. With all my effort I banged against the door and it finally opened. Enough said about the ambience of an old building. We arrived there last night about 7:10 PM. 50+ minutes later we were finally sat at a table. Way too long to be waiting in a town full of restaurants with empty tables in all the restaurants. Maybe they do not have enough workers. You don't know what you don't know. Our waiter showed up rather quickly, and we had been looking at the menu and knew exactly what we want it so, we ordered right away maybe 7:15 PM. Another hour later, our food finally arrived at the table. You've got to be kidding. We didn't order anything extra extra extravagant and all our food was hot except for the handmade pizza. It arrived cool at best. My wife and I both took a bite and knew that something needed to be done. My wife got up and and found our waiter and said that the pizza was too cold to eat. He came to the table 1st he offered to give us a new pizza... My wife and I figured I'd probably take another 50 minutes time with nobody had and it would be after 9 o'clock before we could eat. So then offered to reheat it. Do you think he would just put it in a microwave or watch it on a stove? check out the picture below. Our waiter had the guts to bring back a burnt pizza. The pizza that you see is one that we took home thinking that we might eat it tomorrow. We were cutting off large chunks 2 to 3 inches of pizza burnt as if it had been sitting right on top of the fire. It would take a lot for us to come back to this restaurant. The time waiting was silly. I hate waiting for food ever since I was in the army. The ambience was worse than being at a wedding sitting right next to the band blasting in your ear. My wife and I could not hear each other talk neither could be here the other couple that was with us talk. We were always screaming the age old question "what?". This was supposed to have been a celebration of my daughter's birthday and she chose this place for their impossible burger. All things on the menu were on the high price maybe that's because it's in Clarkston. $14 for a pizza, 12 inches at best with two items was pretty high. I had a side dish of their mac & cheese because I heard it was always very good and it was decent. My son-in-law ordered a full order of pulled chicken that was $20., And my daughter ordered her impossible burger, which was $23.50. We had a couple other side dishes but no drinks and our bill was $90. Probably an amount that I should expect at this day and age, but it always shocks me when four people can't go out for dinner without spending close to $100 and not even have a drink besides water. I was very dismayed that our waiter had the guts to bring a burnt pizza and believe that it was OK to serve that to somebody. Yes, he got a tip not because of his good service but because they probably don't pay well I need to overlook my snobbishness. Would I recommend this place no. Did I have to eat there? Not really I could've suggested other places closer to her place near Rochester, but it was her birthday and we allowed her to make the choice. What are my issues with this place? First that would be waiting almost an hour to be seated at 7 PM at night. Secondly, it would be waiting an hour to get standard menu items. Lastly, it would be the ambience, yes it was an old building, but the sound was bouncing off the wall walls and nobody could hear each each other talk. Not sure how you could fix that and if the first two items had not been the major issues. This probably would've been overlooked.
