This is my second trip but the first one was pre-Yelp for me since I apparently didn't review it. Today I got a German Chocolate which I scarfed down in the car, DELICIOUS. I also picked up a strawberry shortcake which I am assuming will be just as good as my midnight snack tonight. EDIT: I am not a huge fan of the strawberry shortcake. Not as moist and scrumptious as the German chocolate. Last time I got cookies, which as I recall were pretty good (or at least decent) and I tried like 6 varieties. I got a carrot cake and something else (can't recall) but I don't recall them being as spectacular as that chocolate one I just inhaled. Came out so hot I burned by finger on a chocolate chip..... they're not huge and very addictive so order 2. I'm sure they're amazingly chewy as an ice cream sandwich. First of all, this place is SO slow...the workers are extremely rude and you walk in and immediately smell marijuana. My friends and I ordered 1 cookie each and one of my friends cookie order was wrong and they forgot to make my other friends. We go up to tell them, and they literally didn't believe us and made us show them all of our cookies. What happened to the customer is always right???? Then, when they forgot to make my other friends, they simply handed her a free cookie coupon. Like I'm sorry but we didn't come here to get a free cookie coupon. Boulder Baked was super delicious! My dad and i were in town touring CU Boulder! We wanted something sweet after dinner and walking around. We found this place on Yelp, honestly was super hard for us to find in the dark, walked around for quite a while. I got a snicker-doodle cupcake it was delish! Just want to give a big THANK YOU to Seth P. at Boulder Baked. My daughter lives in Boulder and last week was her birthday. I live in Maryland, but wanted to do something special for my daughter on her day. I called Boulder Baked and Seth assisted me in ordering some cupcakes to be delivered to her. Food is very good when made correctly. I routinely order via DoorDash and probably 7 times out of 10 Boulder Baked does not get my order correct. They over cook, put the wrong food in, or miss what I had completely multiple times over the past 6 or so months. Boulder Baked is so delicious and convenient. They deliver mass amounts of cookies in pizza boxes all night. My personal favorites are Ginger Doodle and Cinnamon Sugar Chocolate Chip, but they are all good because they bake them on the spot so they are hot. Their cookie sundaes are to die for. read more

I made an online cookie order for delivery three days in advance, as a surprise birthday gift for my sister. The order, of course, included the delivery address, which was in Louisville (8 miles/15 min drive from the store). I did not receive any notification informing me that delivery was not available to that address. The day the delivery was supposed to be made, I received a phone call 6 hours prior to the delivery time informing me that they could not deliver anywhere outside of Boulder. I asked why I was not informed of that at the time that I placed the order, and they were not able to give me an answer. No apologies were made. Now I am left with no birthday gift for my sister, as I live out of town and do not have time to order something else to arrive on her birthday. Very disappointing. read more

It's hard to tear yourself away from the quaint shops, street performers, and dozens of bustling cafes on the ever popular Pearl Street in downtown Boulder, but I urge you to venture slightly off course to Boulder Baked. You won't be sorry. This place is well-liked among locals, primarily with college students since it's near the campus, and especially because they deliver cookies and milk to your doorstep. They've also recently introduced an app and won the Best of Boulder Dessert Restaurant in 2012. I have to admit I had been off put by Boulder Baked for years because of the impression that their cookies were generic frozen globs of cookie dough sold simply as sustenance to starving college students. Boulder Baked definitely sets itself apart from the brightly-colored high-end cupcake and chocolate shops just a block away, as well as the plethora of vegan and gluten-free hot spots, hosting itself in a drab brown building with simplistic logo. But, when I heard that they were a family-run bakery that offered a variety of unique cookie and cupcake combinations, as well as vegan, and gluten-free options, I knew that Boulder Baked fit into the Boulder hippie mold. One cold night I found myself there with a group of friends, hankering warm cookies and milk. The interior was spacious with lots of places to sit and admire the funky art on the walls. There was a long menu of delicious cookie combinations, and a mouth-watering display case brimming with s'more and red velvet cupcakes, rich brownies, and cakes galore. Since everything looked and sounded so good, and the menu was so large, we probably spent a good fifteen minutes trying to decide what to get. Classic chocolate chip? Chocolate espresso? Perhaps something more adventurous like the everything cookie made of oatmeal, butterscotch, chocolate chip, pecans, and coconut. Ultimately we decided to order a few dozen cookies, and a cupcake for me, to try as many combinations as possible. We gorged! I ate a: chocolate chip cookie, double chocolate chunk cookie, an everything cookie, and a good old-fashioned chocolate cupcake with creamy chocolate frosting and sprinkles. Delicious! I might have also had a few bites of my husband's pumpkin cheesecake, too. Hey, I wasn't lying that I gorged! Although the cookies were somewhat small, they were consistently chewy, moist, and flavorful, leaving me and my friends always wanting "just one more." Each bite had plenty of chocolate chips, which is something I've always been picky about when it comes to chocolate chip cookies. Also, they were warm, and nothing beats a warm cookie on a cold day. I had to really exert my self-control not to keep eating cookies, but it was so much fun to down new flavors, listen to good music, and enjoy the company of friends in downtown Boulder. While there, I discovered that they also make homemade soup and sandwiches. Although they looked good, I couldn't imagine ordering lunch or dinner in a cookie bakery. So, what's the verdict? The cookies, and my cupcake, were very good and the experience was laid back and fun. It's definitely a place to visit if you want some low-key sweets if you're in downtown Boulder. The downside? The cookies were rather small and not very thick, which is why I had to eat so many to feel somewhat full. They also looked a little mass-produced (slightly square-shaped from being baked closely together on a cookie sheet) even though they were made in-house. Although I would most likely return to Boulder Baked, unfortunately these were not the best desserts I've ever had in Colorado. Nevertheless, it's a great place to get share warm cookies over a tall glass of milk. My Recommendation: Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie (and a tall glass of milk). read more

A friend from out of town surprised us by having cupcakes delivered from Boulder Baked. Four kinds - PB, Apple Cinnamon (my wife's favorite), Red Velvet and Chocolate (my favorite). Wow, I am so excited that I finally spent a weekend in Boulder so I could hit up Boulder Baked for some awesome cupcakes. This place has been on my Cupcake Quest list for ages, but their hours are really weird (i.e. open only late in the day), so I struggle to get there. However, this weekend I was in Boulder at night on Friday and Saturday evenings and I am so happy because the cupcakes I tried at Boulder Baked are the best ones I've had in Colorado. They are the perfect size with the perfect (i.e. not insane) amount of frosting! I tried a chocolate peanut butter on Friday night, which was really delicious, and a S'mores on Saturday night. I loved the marshmellow filling in the S'mores cupcake. The only thing it needed was slightly more graham cracker crumbs. The cake was dense but not too dense and it was definitely homemade. And for once the service, in a Boulder establishment, was super friendly. Another benefit of this place is that while the cupcakes are amazing, they are in Boulder and the hours are inconvenient for me which means I can't get them too often. Yes that is a plus for me, I don't want to be able to go to my favorite local cupcake shop too often or I would not fit into my jeans! I can't wait to go back and try some of the fresh baked cookies and more of the cupcakes!! read more

I've been coming here since freshman year of college and It's been a dangerous addiction ever since. Although pricey, I just can't seem to stay away from the cupcakes and cookies here. Once in a blue moon, they'll have some great deals on Groupon and such, but usually no such luck. It'd definitely be 5 star material if they cleaned up their dining area a bit and lowered their prices somehow by a buck or two. Boulder Baked has some real issues. I've eaten at Boulder Baked a few times, and each time the employees have treated me like shit. They are rude and obviously don't want to be there. They grudgingly take orders with dirty looks on their face. It always makes me feel unwelcome and as if I'm doing something wrong by ordering food from them. I've also ordered delivery from the on numerous occasions. They always say it will take about an hour, but 50% of the time it takes two hours. That's is just flat out ridiculous. 2 hours to deliver some damn cupcakes! And I only live few blocks away!!! (yes I am that lazy at times, but that isn't the issue here) On a lighter note, there's one other thing about them that really pisses me off. They're actually closed on Mondays! I'm a student and Mondays are probably the only day of the week I'm in need of delicious baked goods because of the stress from school. I can't tell you how many times my roommates and I have said, "hey, let's get some cupcakes/cookies! That would taste so good right now," but it's Monday. I would suggest only eating here if you feel like being treated like shit, or if you order from them having to wait absolutely unreasonable lengths of time, or if you want to be severely disappointed when all you want is a nice cupcake but then you realize it's Monday. To sum up, Boulder Baked may serve reasonably good food, but their service is absolutely repugnant. I'm my opinion their service is so bad it's not even worth eating there. read more

Had a grilled cheese, tomato soup, and a cupcake for $11. The cupcake was a cookie dough cup cake. When I went in I was doubtful they deserved best bakery in Boulder but once I tasted the cupcake all my doubts went away. That was by far the best cupcake Iv'e ever had. The grilled cheese was awesome, nothing you couldn't make at home, just a simple cheddar cheese grilled cheese, but it was damn good. The soup wasn't as creamy as some but it was nice and vinegary which is just how I like it. Service was pretty quick considering they had to make a grilled cheese. I imagine if it was busy they could get backed up pretty fast but I was in at 3:30 PM and my food took five minutes. I will definitely be going back!! 9/10 read more

Boulder is a really great town in one of the nicest parts of Colorado. I went here around the time my best friend was dating this really, really complicated and annoying girl named Amanda. Anyways, we planned a long drive to Boulder and funny story is- she ditched us and she got lost. After not finding her for ten whole straight hours, we were exhausted, deluded from the heat (it was actually in the middle of January night) and we got so tired from looking for this wench, we decided to stop by for some coffee while we phone the police to find this girl. (Or creature) we thought the cafe of Boulder Baked look amazing, cozy, warm and they had a lot of urban art on their wall. Oh my god, it was awesome. We entered in and found ourselves completely forgetting about this girl and went on to order some cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes and cookies!! The cookies were assorted with different spectacular flavors. The coffee was amazing at the moment, the only major downfall is Boulder Baked left a few negatives on my list: The Racism! Dun dun dun!! The whole time of our stay we were the only tan friends inside the bakery cafe, and literally everyone stared at us up and down. Everyone. Especially the college kids who happen to come around. They whispered a few racial slurs at us and then laughed about it with the cashier there and pointed at us. Horrible. I can't mention the racial slurs on here of course but they said it. When our phone rang, everyone stopped and stared at only us and made long painful eye contact! We felt so uncomfortable and bullied, we left. The coffee made me sick for a long week after drinking it. (Remember I said it was delicious at the moment.) well, it was overall a 3 out of 5 mainly for the horrible atmosphere, for the staff not doing something about the racial slurs and the coffee making me sick. The desserts were amazing and I enjoyed the urban art as well as the restrooms were clean. Not everyone who worked there was bad though. I'm unbiased and maintain that way. But most likely will try to return for a second chance. read more

I have never actually eaten here before. Just moved here and was browsing doordash and was happy to see some vegan options but I called first to ask some questions before placing an order online. I first waited on hold for over 5 minutes, hung up and called back to be put back on hold for another 4 minutes. Once someone finally picked up the phone, I asked what brand of vegan cheese they used and the girl I spoke with said "I can't remember the brand right now." So I asked "well can you check for me?" and I was told "no, not right now.." so I just hung up. Really disappointed. read more

The greatest cupcakes I have ever had. Truly. The first time I ordered from here I immediately regretted not ordering like 20 more cupcakes. The best ones are hands down the Vanilla Salted Caramel and the Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea cupcakes. The cookies are also really good. The best feature is that you can get them baked-to-order. I like my cookies on the soft side and my best friend likes them really well-done, so we both can get our ideals ordering here. The only thing I'd recommend skipping is the grilled cheese. They are not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but they're pretty much the same as something you could make at home. Delivery is always prompt and accurate no matter what delivery service you choose to order from. I highly recommend this place. read more

I'll start by noting that I'm both an addict and self-proclaimed connoisseur of chocolate chip cookies. I've been coming to Boulder Baked for the chocolate chip cookies for years, and they never disappoint. I was inspired to write this review after trying the chocolate chip cookies at another bakery in town called Crumbl. I'll just say that those didn't live up to my expectations, which made me realize just how damn good Boulder Baked is. Their half-baked chocolate chip cookies are just perfect; perfect size, perfect texture, incredible flavor and ingredients, AND, they always manage to arrive warm when I order them for delivery! Being a chocolate chip addict, I've never actually tried anything else at Boulder Baked, but I hear their other stuff is great too. All in all, this place is the bees knees. read more

Was in town from the East coast visiting a friend & this place has the BEST vegan cupcake I've ever had (even better than Sprinkles which is pretty good). I got the vegan chocolate cupcake with vegan vanilla frosting (which happens to be my favorite combo). I would never had known it's vegan! It tastes just like a regular cupcake. The cake was moist & decadent, and the frosting had the perfect amount of sweetness. It was sooo good & I highly recommend this place! If I ever go back to Boulder, this will be my first stop. read more
