There are a ton of booths to explore here. I'm glad I ran across my favorite yesterday! Adventurist Soap Company located closer to the Tea house. I was down to my last bar so I did a stock up. Once you try this soap (amongst other products) you will be hooked. The owner Daina is super knowledgeable about your skin needs. You can't find soap like this in any grocery store. She also has a website where you explore and order online. Super friendly, awesome prices. Hands down the best booth here. She has many events over the summer! What a great time this past summer at the Boulder Creek Festival! Even though I've been here I few years, it was my first time going. It's set along the creek with ample space for fun. There's usually an art show happening too so there's lots to do. You buy a reservation online for a drinking window. Get there on time cause once your times up, you're out! So go as early as you can for maximum sampling. And you'll want time too, cause there's like 25-30 breweries out! Local favorites like Avery and Stem, and some National big buys like Woodchuck cider. You get a pretty cool glass too ( sometimes half the reason for going!). Overall, can't wait to go next year! read more

Fun for all ages. There are three performance stages, ample food vendors, and artisans. I appreciate how it never feels overly crowded because the creek offers a natural boundary and they separate it into two sections. One area is by the bandshell and the other two arenas are near the library. The later is the beer festival and kid-centric activities. I guess parents need a little fun too while the kids get to explore. Hosted over Memorial day weekend and worth marking your calendar. read more

I used to go to this when I lived here in the early 2000s. This isn't an art show anymore it's a flea market. I was so disappointed.

So we came up here thinking this would be a good idea but it was actually my worst nightmare. Had to literally hike up a mile long hill just to get to a place the website did not mention it was even being held at. Being a thick girl and thinking I'd wear a cute skirt today was also the worst mistake. I had an actual thigh rash b4 I even got to the undisclosed location the event was happening. We had to ask the crowd walking the opposite direction of where the event was advertised on how to get to it after wandering around 20 mins. When I got there, the security wannabe at the gate said my purse wasn't appropriate. It was too large & not see through. The website said to bring shopping bags for purchases bc they didn't provide them, nothing about them being see through. See pics I took of the large &/or non-see through bags of people leaving the event. Not one see through bag. I passed by several people with larger bags than mine on the hike back to the car in actual tears. So, I spent 45 mins today hiking in a skirt to a place only to be turned away bc they put wrong information on their website. This is not the first event I've tried to attend in Boulder that ended up being some complete inconvenienced bs that was completely misleading on what to expect on their website. Boulder needs to get their information straight on what they advertise on their events. Because it's definitely nothing at all what you experience when you show up. After this being one of a handful of disappointing attempts we've tried to attend in Boulder, I WON'T BE BACK. Way too much hassle & conflicting info than it's worth, only to be met by blatant discrimination. I've been enjoying perusing the Boulder Creek Fest for the past several years. While many of the offerings change (who's handing out samples, who's dancing on the kiddie stage) many of the offerings also remain the same (great music on the big stage, good security, and safe places to explore with Fido and/or the kiddos). This year the Boulder Creek Fest was better than ever. I felt like it was much better organized than year's past and really took great advantage of the newly revised grounds near the library. I spent not one, but two afternoons walking around taking in the sights, tastes, and smells. My favorite booth this year was put on by the Colroado Melanoma Foundation. They were offering free skin cancer screenings, score! So awesome to have this offering at the festival! Wait times were short (or they'd send you a text when they were ready for you). Physician assistants were friendly, professional, and thorough. They also had lots of different styles of elta MD sunscreen (my personal fave) so we could make sure to put on another lather before the next lap of the happenings. One thing I haven't taken part in yet is the rides - though I've always wanted to. Overall great event to explore, take in, and attend with a friend or loved one. read more

Went to the Boulder Creek Festival this year and it was fun to walk around the festival with my friend and see all the vendors. Loved the variety they had and it was fun. Didn't enjoy the crowds and I think that the music was a bit too loud. There were lots of people smoking weed by the creek and bridges. Parking wasn't too hard to find if you're willing to park further away and walk. We got shaved ice and it was very refreshing. read more

TEN STARS! The creek fest is my all-time favorite event of the summer! Better than the 4th, better than the Pearl Street sidewalk sale. I love watching the rubber duck race. I'm not going to look it up but I'm going to solemnly declare that Boulder invented the rubber duck race. (Don't pop my bubble if I'm wrong. Like it's even possible!) I love buying food from all the different carts and stalls in the library parking lot and watching cute kids dance, a capella groups perform, and hippies gyrate to sitars and alpine horns. I love looking at all the artisan-wares. I love walking by the funny new-age weirdo tents where they try and lure you in to show you how crystals/pyramid hats/correct spinal alignment are the way to the truth/nirvana. I love looking at the various and sundry folks that come out for the festival. (Boulder may not be diverse racially or politically but we have other diversity in spades!) LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! This festival, held annually in Boulder on Memorial Day weekend has had its ups and downs. Weather is a great impact of course and thats usually kind of iffy. This year was a mix of gorgeous weather and the inevitable rain. I have been many, many times, though parts of it in small sections. Some years I care about the craft booths but after decades, they often get repetitious. There's usually decent entertainment, with some of the bands quiet audible from my house. All the restaurants along Pearl are swamped, the best very hard to get into. It's all fun and boisterous if the weather is good. There are activities for all ages. Fenced off beer garden and other food and drink purveyors. Lots of the local alcohol manufacturers, like Avery are represented. Traffic in and out of town is heavy, parking is available free in the city garages (Keep your eyes open for the local signage as there are also privately owned garages that are not free.) Use RTD if at all possible. Their stops are very convenient across Boulder and the Festival in general. read more

Okay yeah, most of the stuff they are selling here is crap. And the food choices are limited and expensive for fair food (where is the deep fried snickers vendor??). Parking wasn't bad at all, we parked for free in a garage that was three blocks away. Being able to sit by the creek and people watch was fun... would have been nicer if we could have enjoyed beer that wasn't $5 a pop. But seriously, what else are you going to do in Boulder that's oh so much better? It's a nice change of pace one time a year. read more

While I do enjoy coming to this festival every year on Memorial Day weekend, I would love to see more local and unique artists selling their wares, then companies selling windows, doors, and offering meditation services. Also, as local businesses have grown, less is their presence at the fest. Gone are booths sponsored by Whole Foods, KBCO, New Belgium, and Lefthand. This year, there were lots of mass produced junk stands, and not as many local and interesting businesses as there used to be. I looked everywhere for a guide to the entertainment, as there was not one posted on their website. Would have loved to have known who was playing where and when. Had some samples of So Delicious, Kashi Shakes, and some amazing Sangria options from Decadent Saint! Still a fun venue to walk around and peruse, and is dog friendly...just not the farmer's market unfortunately! read more

I'm going to weigh in as the snooty, nostalgic iconoclast who lived in Boulder before the Pearl St Mall, before conspicuous consumption was Boulder's Golden Calf, when brazen high school students with fake ID's like me were tolerated in Shannon's and Potters, when you could get a huge breakfast at the Aristocrat (best greasy spoon that ever existed), and when you could ditch school all morning having coffee at Fred's and no one would ask what the hell you were doing there and why you weren't in school. Boulder is just so painfully homogenous and contrived when it comes to the social scene and culture. For all its panache, which is still about and derives entirely from the environment, the recreation and the weather (let's face it, those are the only reasons why anyone pay $1 million for the equivalent of a remodeled, run-of-the-mill mid-century tract home unless it was nestled up against the Foothills walking distance from Chatauqua Park), Boulder is so much all about hype and gimmick. Sorry. The tents at the festival look like tents at every and any festival anywhere, but the Creek Fest to me seemed to have more commercial, non-local purveyors (of cell phone service and Cliff Bars) than it did local merchants, artists and the like. I could be wrong about the numbers and ratios, but that's how it seemed. And gimmick - for these sophisticated accidental real estate moguls: the highlight of the Creek Fest that everyone seemed to be talking about: a DUCK RACE. Really, a DUCK RACE. read more

This has gotten way more crowded the past few years. Of course it's Memorial Day Weekend and also the whole Bolder Boulder crowd is in town, kids back from college, CU summer students and who knows what else! Fewer good free promotional giveaways these days, as many local Boulder food succes stories (Silk Soy, etc.) are now owned by giant corporate parents. Yes, a whole lotta more out junk and crap for sale now in many tents. Still, a little of something for everyone, on a nice day, walk around, run into some friends, and grab a bite. Or show the out-of-towners around. Advice - 1. Dont go between 12-5pm, major crowds. 2. try to park AT LEAST 3-5 blocks away for a chance at a spot, avoiding the traffic congestion/closures near the event, and walk to the event. (Bikes too) 3. This impossible-to-navigate sea of tents falls (as though) out of the sky onto the banks of the Boulder Creek on Memorial Day Weekend every year, bringing with it wares that will appeal to broke college students and wealthy Mapleton Hillsters alike. Into freebies? Look around you. Free samples of juice, rootbeer, chocolate, reflexology, chiropractics, palm reading, granola bars... Hungry? Choose from mega-corn dogs, healthy Vietnamese food, and everything in between, and then sit down on the shuffleboard courts to eat it (it's not like anyone will actually be playing shuffleboard during the festival). Bored? Get a hair wrap or your face painted or a henna tattoo. Let your kids, if you have them, get absorbed into the gigantic Kid Activity Table. Bounce on a giant trampoline. Go to the Moonwalk. Pet people's dogs. Walk the maze behind the library. If you're still bored, I can't help you. As for the actual shopping... I've gotten every backpack I've ever owned since I lived in Boulder here. There's a guy who sets up a huge wall of discounted backpacks usually up on 9th street. There's a jewelry stand from which I bought like 5 necklaces for 6 bucks. I can't tell you about the higher end stuff, not being the type to buy things that cost more than like $10 (although I did get a beautiful black swishy dress for $30 once!). But as you can see, even if you buy nothing, it's worth a visit. read more

SO MUCH FREE STUFF!!! As a starving college student, Boulder Creek Festival marks the beginning of the madness which is Boulder during summer. Locals and tourists and some fun students that stick around. This thing is huge! The creek path is PACKED and its great for trying new local or organic food/soap/clothes/jewelry. Seriously they have a bit of everything, plus bands and rubberduck race! One of the best festivals I've ever been to. Fun for all ages, dogs welcome! read more

If you live in Boulder, throw out your calendar. You don't need a solstice to tell you when summer begins. It starts with the Boulder Creek Festival--one of the greatest festivals I've ever been to. (Keep in mind that I'm somebody who doesn't like festivals, so it's a huge statement for me to give love to a festival.) Now in its 30th year, the festival is entering its fourth decade of fun in the sun in beautiful downtown Boulder. I've been fortunate to attend 10 of them myself, most recently last week. We go every year and every year it doesn't disappoint. There is always tons to see and do. It takes most of the day to see all the sights. As you walk down the creek path, you will find a lot of different booths and vendors. Also, we love to also go down Pearl Street as there are more booths up there as well. I attend this every year I do the Bolder Boulder 10k race since packet pickup and the race expo are coordinated to land on the same day. There are tons of vendors and samples. I got a pair of sunglasses there about 6 years ago that I still wear and get compliments on. The food options seem to ebb and flow but there are options none the less. It would be great if there was a map or more vendor info, or maybe there is (in which it would be nice if it were made more accessible). read more

I love festivals, so if it's close enough i'm there. I was not expecting this how big is was for Boulder. A quick drive on 36 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon was well worth time spent. There was food, arts, jewelery, music, and free samples. No entrance free either. I recommend it for next year. read more

Attending the Boulder Creek Festival is a fun and inexpensive way to spend Memorial day weekend for any local Coloradans. The samples galore are a good way to tame your stomach amidst all the tasty smells from the food vendors. Once you are ready to eat, make sure you save room for Sister Pantry dumplings over in the Boulder Library parking lot. You can spend an afternoon with family and friends wandering the festival grounds. It's a great place to purchase upcoming holiday gifts for loved ones with all the interesting arts and crafts on sale. The festival is about 30 minutes away from us. I really wanted to give it 3.5 stars but definitely not 3 stars. This is probably the cleanest fair I've been to meaning there weren't many hoodlums. Overall, it's a pretty big fair with rides, food booths, and free stuff. But if you're looking for a whole day activity, this place isn't it. We finished the fair within 1.5. Positives: It was really fun, wide variety of food, rides and music. Negatives: Dirty "allowed"dogs running around everywhere defecting and or urinating. NOT safe for kids faces due to amount of dogs at same ground level. Everyone claims "their dog is fine" until it clamps down on the face, jaw or lip. The dogs should be banned. It would add to cleanliness around food and not be a heath and safety issue. Sorry dog lovers deal with responsibility and know this is fact. read more

Well can't really leave a review since we haven't been to this event yet. We are from Florida traveling the US and looking for something to do in the area of Cheyenne, Wy. for Labor Day weekend. However when on the website about the festival there is no map to get there or that it is even in Boulder, COLORADO do they just assume every knows that. There is Boulder, Utah Boulder, Wyoming and who knows how many more there are. But I have noticed in this area they don't mention the state they are in very often. Guess they don't realize how many people travel through this area while RVing. We can't read minds and we all use the internet to help us with things to do in the area we happen to be visiting at the time. read more

As a vendor and visitor. Not worth the time. The parking is awful to be nice. The festival itself is unorganized and scattered out. Very comercial. Entertainment is average. If you are thinking of coming here as a vendor think twice, Unless you have a product that people can tuck in their pocket and only spend $2 on you won't make enough to even cover the outrageous booth rent. And even if you have a product like this they will stick you someplace where you will get no foot traffic like many other vendors here. I will not be back as either a vendor or visitor. read more
