We got a few quotes from some other companies but in the end decided to go with Boulder valley pools based on the reviews and we couldn't have chose a better company. I was in need of a filter pump repair. BVP was the 3rd company I contacted after unsatisfactory responses from 2 other companies. Paul took my phone call after 5 pm. He was very responsive and was out the next day to diagnose the problem. He was back the following day with new parts and completed the repair in a timely manner. Paul had a sense of urgency to get my job completed quickly. He was knowledgeable about the job and explained the repair to me and why it needed repair. He was in constant contact with me via phone calls leading up to the repair to make sure I was in the loop. He did not try to sell me a new pump and saved me a ton of money by doing the right thing. Paul is a young, ambitious entrepreneur who knows the meaning of great service. His pool services are outstanding and he often goes the extra mile by focusing on the best way to prevent and address costly repairs. In fact, he completed a full overhaul of our pump for a fraction of the cost the big guys would have charged. In addition to the bigger repairs, Paul's weekly pool service is an outstanding value given the attention to detail he demonstrates in cleaning and maintaining our pool. Today, Paul fixed and adjusted our gate simply because he saw that was broken. Even when we are not home, he leaves a report outlining any issues and the time he added chemicals. Found Paul on Yelp and very happy with his work. We purchased a green pool home in Fountain Hills...even had some equipment missing. Pool is now sparkling and beautiful. They drained, acid washed, sandblasted, etc. pebble tech, waterfall and tile. Also replaced sand filter and pump with cartridge filter and variable speed pump...soooo much quieter. He also put down a concrete pad for all of the equipment versus the loose rocks. We plan to do some renovations later...will call Paul. read more

Paul and Rich did a terrific job on a severe clog in one of my return lines. They worked hard to make sure the problem was resolved, and then offered helpful suggestions to keep it from coming back. They explained what they were doing and what they expected to happen, and provided me with a lot of useful information, without trying to sell me any other products or services. On a day when I could not get anyone else to return my calls, Paul picked up, came over in less than an hour, and fixed the problem. More importantly, when I told him I really wanted to understand my system better, he was willing to tell me some important information - for example, when a pump stops working, often it just means the capacitor is out, which costs $45 rather than a $300 new pump. Spoke with Paul at Boulder Valley Pools on phone regarding an RFP to replace 50 ft of waterline tile, acid wash the PebbleTec surface finish and repair/refinish the KoolDeck surfaces. Fully described job required and current condition of pool in detail. Without even physically looking at the job Paul launched into a very hard sell over the phone to refinish the entire PebbleTec pool surface because "damage will occur to the pebble finish when we replace the waterline tile". Ridiculous assumption. Damage occurs to pebble finish because of poor workmanship. BVP is not my pool guy. read more

Paul installed new pool equipment for me, moving us from an old sand filter and pump to a new cartridge filter and variable speed pump. It was a true pleasure doing business with Paul. We hired Paul's company to install new cool decking surrounding our pool and they did an amazing job. He was very insightful and very knowledgeable with all to do with pools and decking. Paul went the extra mile and thoroughly cleaned our pool as well as teaching us how to use our new pool equipment properly as we had no clue:) He even went as far as back washing our pool to teach us how to perform this task and how often to do it. I wanted to add a heater to my pool and I wanted to update my pump and filter. I got a few quotes but I was impressed with how Paul from Boulder Valley Pools got his quote back to me so quickly and followed up. His reviews on Yelp were very good so I chose him. He did a great job. He did exactly what I asked him to do and he charged me exactly what he said he would. I live in Canada and had to "stickhandle" the job over the phone with Paul. He called me often to let me know how things were going. I wasn't there to supervise the project and I'd never met Paul face to face. I only met him after the job was finished. I wish I could give Paul a better review. He came out last year and put in a new pool light fixture for me. He did a great job and I love the light. This season I asked him to come look at some therapy jets that weren't working. He seemed hesitant to come out and give me a quote. He wouldn't set any definite time or date. We texted and called back and forth for 3 days about it. He seems to have blown me off. I have not heard back for two months now. read more

Another pool company t rutted to get me to resurface the pool to make it look good again. I found Paul on yelp and called him to get a second opinion. He spent like 10 min on the phone with me answering all of my questions and trying to figure out how he can help. He stopped by the next weekend even though we live all the way in Avondale. He charged us a few hundred dollars and worked for like 4 hours. A week later the pool looks cleaner than it has bever been and it looks like i can hold off on resurfacing for a few more years. Paul was cleaning our neighbors pool and I asked if he would come and look at my pool cleaner which was unusually loud.(my husband and I were debating if it was supposed to be that loud!) I found Boulder Valley last week - was having problems with my pool motor and had a Jacuzzi that didn't work. Paul was very responsive and send someone out after hours the same day I contacted him. They gave me a quote that I thought was fair. The pool motor failed on Sunday - although the notice was extremely short, Paul got his guy out and fixed everything the very next day. We have a 16 year old waterfall/small pool. Over the years we had a variety of problems with the pool. We have used multiple pool people from Angie's List but none of them were satisfactory. They were not very knowledgeable, not really friendly,and their repairs didn't last very long. When the pool developed multiple problems again I turned to yelp and found Boulder Valley Pools. I was impressed with all the positive reviews. I called Paul, the owner, and he spent a lot of time listening to the problems with the pool and explained to me what was probably going on.. He sent Rich out to look at the waterfall/pool. Rich was very friendly and knowledgeable and diagnosed the problems and what repairs were needed. Paul and Rich came back and made the repairs. The waterfall/pool hasn't looked this good since it was built. Paul and Rich are honest, friendly, and knowledgeable. They are the best pool people I have ever used.
