Despite the fact it was after hours (evening before the party), Rod actually spent 20 minutes with me via FaceTime to diagnose the problem, assist me with repairing a valve and priming a pump. He provided me with specific instructions and he was able to get everything working again all via FaceTime. HE DIDNT CHARGE ME ANYTHING! He was sympathetic to my time critical situation, and he genuinely wanted to be helpful. He would not accept any money despite my insistence. You just don't see this type of authentic integrity anymore. Excellent work ethic, extremely knowledgeable, quick response, and he didn't feel right charging me simply because he wasn't there in person. The FaceTime instruction was extremely educational and his thorough step-by-step guidance was spot on. He was very patient with me. Other companies said it would be $475 just to come out and take a look. This is the only company I will use for all my future pool service needs. Hard to find people like Rod these days. I was told someone would come out to take a look, but no one showed up. I called again and was told they would come out the next day. Again, no one showed up. I then received an apology and was told I was penciled in for Tuesday and that they could probably provide me with a quote if I sent pictures, my address, and my personal information. I did exactly that and provided everything they requested. Still no quote. I eventually called again because I never received the promised email. I was then told that they thought they had already given me the quote. They hadn't. And, once again, no one came out on Tuesday as promised. At this point, it was just excuse after excuse after excuse. I spent my time making calls, sending pictures and information, and trying to accommodate their schedule, only to never receive the basic service I originally requested. I honestly don't understand how this company has so many positive reviews based on my experience. Regardless, I would never use or recommend this company. If getting a simple estimate is this difficult, I certainly wouldn't trust them with an actual pool repair.

He cleaned the tile nicely, and rather quickly. I also had some tile popping loose on the water feature, and even though I'd already hired a contractor to do the tile work, I cancelled it to let Jason of Pristine Pool Tile have the Job. That's when the trouble started. Jason agreed to have the work done in approximately one week. After pulling off the old tile and leaving it in in containers inside the pool, he began to call off, and reschedule the work. No worries, it was still cool outside and we had time. After two weeks of not showing, and rescheduling by text, Jason simply stopped returning my calls and texts. After a month of him avoiding us, my wife called from her phone, and he promised to complete the work. He never did. This caused us a lot of problems and we had to hire another contractor to complete the work. Pristine Pool Tile did not refund any money for the unfinished work.

He had been taking care of pool maintenance himself but this summer the pool wouldn't get clear and stayed green. My son has had bad experiences with contractors so he didn't want to hire anyone. Being an avid yelper I asked him if I could find a pool company to go out and I'd pay for it if the results were not successful. Well, great news! The results were successful so I don't need to cover it :) My son was happy to pay for quality assistance. He thinks he can now handle cleaning for the winter, after getting some advice from the tech. And we will hire Clear as Crystal to do the maintenance next Summer. I really appreciate the willingness to come out, fix the issue, and explain it to my son so he can learn. He is a young man and these experiences are important. Especially as a fairly new home owner and landlord. They charged a reasonable fee and didn't pressure him to sign up for regular service, although like I said, we probably will- at least for the warmer months. One contractor offered a quote over the phone, but then constantly delayed scheduling me for service. Another contractor offered a quote over the phone that was almost 4 times the price of the first quote. Other contractors simply told me they couldn't help or weren't interested. Mike not only specializes in the pebble tec issues, but was considerate, reliable, and did a great job on the actual repair. His price was extremely fair and competitive. He showed up and did exactly what he promised. I would highly recommend using him for any of your service needs. I hope I don't need him again in the near future, but if I do, I won't hesitate to work with him again!

For the record, I was concerned because two previous bids were significantly higher and I was worried how his quote could be so much lower. I even asked him about this and he told me, "Three guys, one day labor and the amount of tile you need, this is a fair price."
