I am fairly frequent customer of "the Boulevard" here in Covington, LA and have taken my family of 16 every holiday season before Christmas for several years. I generally I have been very pleased until tonight, when I stopped in to order a valentines dinner to go for my wife and I. I also had my neighbor join me for a take out dinner for he and his wife. I Ordered a crab cake for my wife at $28 and a Hawaiian ribeye for my self at a cost $46.50. Pricey items to be sure! My steak was horrible with so much fat and gristle I could not cut it with a steak knife when I got home! I saved tha majority of my steak in case they wanted to see it. The price was one thing, but the quality was certainly not commensurate with the cost and what I have been accustom to in the past. Needless to say we were very disappointed. read more

The staff is first class and they go out of their way to make you feel special. Let me tell you, this place did not disappoint! From the second we walked in the door, we knew we picked the right place. We were greeted with several smiling faces and sat within minutes of being there. The have " Filet Mignon " ...delicious...BOMB melt-in-your-mouth meat! with a large portions of vegetables. The chef visited the table and we mentioned to him that we love pepper sauce and he made a special just for me. I grew up eating Houston's in Metairie, so when they closed and reopened as Boulevard (I'm now in Houston and noticed this as well), I was intrigued. We came in the Tuesday before thanksgiving. The restaurant was packed, and we were so glad we had a reservation. Our waitress (her name has left me) provided excellent service, and we enjoyed watching the food come out to different tables. I'll say this - most of the portions are HUGE. I had the roasted chicken, and it could easily feed my husband and me. He had the salmon. We raved about our entrees and how hot and fresh our food was prepared. My parents split a dish and added an extra side. I would advise looking into that. I'll also note I'm horribly sensitive to gluten (discussed it with the waitress), and I didn't get sick from my meal (I took supplements to help in the event of cross-contamination). There are some gluten-free options. We will definitely be back! read more

This place is an over priced Houston's but not at all as good. The bar is the only thing worth visiting. I've ordered food to go several times and not once has the order been correct. Not once! I love their version of ranch but I ordered two large containers to go and they gave me the wrong dressings!!! It's unbelievable!! I go here often because the food seems more consistent than other locations I have been to and reviewed. Last night, I had the prime rib. Cooked a perfect rare with a loaded baked potato and a half price bottle of Silver Oak cab. Could not have been any better! Service was good . The place is very nicely decorated especially on the north shore where most restaurants are very plain. I give this 4.5 stars. read more

Our chicken sandwich was cold, fries were cold, baked chicken was also lukewarm. Ordered the french dip sandwich and it came out 30 mins after everyone else's meals. Was only offered a side salad or cup of soup as an offer in the meantime while waiting. Was very busy but should have been more worried about the food not out in time. The waitress didn't even realize we were missing one of the meals. Very disappointed. Have had MULTIPLE issues with bad service and cold food. Will not be returning. read more

The Roated Chicken is amazing. My daughter loved the tenders. Also the mash and gravy was very flavorful.

Stopped in on the way home from visiting a friend. We were promptly seated and our requested drinks were brought over. The salmon appetizer was wonderful. The shrimp pasta was ok, but something was missing, some spice. I do not know what it is that was missing exactly. The brownie a la mode was amazing. read more

The worst service! We ordered the small for 2 things, got larges and were charged for it. They asked if we needed another drink, we said no, and they brought us another drink and charged us for it. Got a coffee and there was a dead fly that was in my coffee. I spit it out on the floor. Will never go back EVER again. I've never had that experience anywhere else. But the hostess seated our large party outside and it was really cold outside, her excuse was the tables inside would not accommodate us. I think it was fat shaming cause several members in our group were Big people and she didn't want us inside. Maybe, I'm wrong. Food was way over priced. Two sandwiches and drinks was over $60.00. Don't mind paying for food. As long as it's good food! My husband had the Cuban and I had a Cheeseburger. One person had the redfish. They said it was good. We decided to order takeout for Father's Day. My wife got the Wood grilled redfish no salt. It was well prepared in the box. The grilled redfish had lump crabmeat all over the top. The butter sauce was in a container so you added what you wanted. It came with a grilled cauliflower with a ricotta based sauce on it topped with walnuts. Plus it was a generous serving. My son ordered the salmon burger. It was melt in your mouth. I ordered the barbecue ribs with slaw and fries. Again a generous portion with meat that fell off the bones. Very familiar with this establishment and haven't been in a while, decided to give it another try. Well after lunch hour but ordered the ribs and a baked potato. The flavor of ribs was as good as ever, even if lacking in meat. I was so disappointed in the potato, very hard and not done. The server came to my table to ask me if everything was ok and before I could answer she told me she would bring me a warm cloth. Very disappointed in my meal, quality and service was subpar.
