Amazing winery on the finger lakes. I have been a member for 3 years now. My bf and I enjoy coming here every June and pick up a bunch of wine and sample their new wines as well. Dog friendly, beautiful scenery, and some of the best rieslings and gewurtztraminer in the area. No added sugar! My girlfriends and I got a driver to do some wine tasting. This was our very first stop and we were very impressed by the lake views, professionalism, and taste of the wines. Our server was Laurenda and she was amazing. We came here on recommendations from a coworker of mine, and we were not disappointed! The view of the lake and ambiance here is unbeatable. Definitely fell in love with the view and feel of the place here. The owner's dog is the most adorable and gentle dog ever and comes up to greet you. It's a great place to come with your own dog too. They are very well known for their Rieslings here. We did a tasting flight and our favorite was definitely the Riesling bubbly dry. You have to try it! I love their diagram explanations of how sweet and dry their wines are. After doing the tasting, we went inside and grabbed a couple bottles of the Riesling bubbly dry. My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing time here after visiting several parks earlier that day. In all honesty, we are not wine experts, just know what we like by tasting, and just want to relax with a lake view. We were allowed to sample 3 different Rieslings and purchased a bottle of the medium one to take outside. I had googled all the wineries with lake views and this one looked the best in pictures. But it's even better in person. After a short gravel road, this beautiful wide lake expanse comes into view. The lawn has many Adirondack chairs with tables for 2 and umbrellas. Even though we've been to the Fingerlakes many times, this was the first visit to Boundary breaks. From now on, it'll be on the agenda for every wine tasting trip. Giving one star as it's not possible to only give a half star. This vineyard left the worst taste in our mouths and it wasn't just the wine. We arrived to this beautiful winery and were so excited for our time here. Our friend had been before and had the best time. She was thrilled to take us here. We were looking forward to this our entire trip. We were seated at a picnic table which had a great view, as most of their place does. We then realized there were Adirondack chairs that were a bit closer to the view and looked much more comfortable. We decided to ask if it were possible to move to this section. We were very friendly in our request and were told they couldn't accommodate our party, as that section only sat parties of 2 or 4. We later saw them bring out an extra chair to a larger party, but again we didn't complain about this. Our tasting came out and we were barely one glass in when the owner came over. We thought he was going to apologize for not accommodating our request for Adirondack chairs or to let us know some has opened up. Instead, he let us know he had multiple jobs here and one of which was enforcing the seating rules. He pointed out a sign at the table that said we had 45 minutes at the table from sitting. We were incredibly confused as we had literally just arrived and sat and ordered wine. We were so caught off guard by our experience we later asked our server their there were a problem with our table. We let her know the owner came over and explained they wouldn't "kick us out" but as they weren't a restaurant they were losing money. There were several tables around us that were seated around the the same time, but were never informed of this "rule." This seems like a faulty business model. They did express there were "people waiting" but there remained several open tables. We also called out this was not mentioned on their website, which they acknowledged, but said they didn't want to turn people away. Essentially, they lure people here but only enforce this rule for "certain" tables. As they approached our table with a piece of paper asking us to leave after 45 minutes (photographed). While the view was great, the wine and the service truly tarnished the entire experience. We were interested in buying bottles of wine but were so turned off by our experience. The range of wines offered at Boundary Breaks will challenge any preconceived notions you might have about your taste preferences. I was blown away by their unoaked chardonnay. I am someone who has vehemently opposed chardonnay, only to find that theirs was not only delicious, but is actually probably my favorite! Atop amazing service, was a calm and crisp atmosphere. The tasting room is spacious and clean, with large windows that showcase a view only to be found in the finger lakes. Watching the sunset over the lakes was the icing on the cake. We did the bounty board for lunch and it was a pretty nice set up. They have their warehouse set up as a dining room. The only awkward thing is that you have to walkthrough the kitchen to get to it. On one wall they are projecting the view you would see if this room had window. On the other wall they have a video going with a history of the winery. The bounty board starts with a teaser of mushroom soup. The board includes a beet and goat cheese salad; gazpacho; potatoes with tomatoes, broccoli, cheese and bacon; and fruit. For the main course you could choose a burger, chicken caprese sandwich, or a vegetarian sandwich. I chose the burger. The remainder of my party chose the chicken caprese. I admire their farm to table efforts, but this is not designed for a picky eater like myself. For example, if you don't like tomatoes 3 items on the board have tomatoes on/in them. Also, my burger was severely undercooked and I had to send it back. Even the server agreed it was medium rare at best. I didn't love the raspberry vinaigrette as it was way too thick and the fruit for dessert was not traditional fruit which could be fun, but I didn't really think it was. Our server was really nice, but didn't seem to be super knowledgable about the menu items or the wine. She often had to ask someone else when we asked her a question. They don't do wine flights with the bounty boards, but she was kind enough to get us a taste of two of the Rieslings so we could decide which bottle we would like to order with our lunch. Because we didn't have a tasting, our server wasn't really trying to sell us on the wines. After visiting many other wineries last week where we felt rushed, we appreciated the detailed explanation and education provided by the employee who poured our wines. Best known for their Riesling, we were so excited to try this place out and it did not disappoint! The views are stunning and there is so much room for proper social distancing. We went on a Sunday, when it first opened, and there was only 3 other small groups there (which we hear it's usually packed) so it made for a quiet and relaxing afternoon. We enjoyed the 5 tastings and loved each wine. And enjoyed some snacks with another glass of wine while overlooking the scenery. All of the staff were nice and professional, even offered to take our photo which was nice. Driving in, you see acres of vineyards, and there are several more acres of vineyards separating you from the lake. We only went to a few other wineries, but this one had the most relaxing and picturesque scenery. We really enjoyed our time and definitely will be back! read more

This is one of my new favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes! My husband and I stopped by on a Fri afternoon and split 2 tastings (for a total of 10 wines) at the outdoor bar, which had a beautiful view of the lake. We tasted all 3 sparklings, all of the whites, and the cab franc. The Gewurztraminer was our favorite and we bought a bottle to take home. What really made our experience was the service. The winemaker greeted us and Joanne poured our wine. We really enjoyed talking to her and swapping travel stories and her recommendations for where to go in the area. We will definitely return on future trips. They also do events with live music. I can't think of a better evening than sitting on an Adirondack chair here with a glass of sparkling Riesling looking at the lake. read more

Superb choice of wines!! A flight of wine (choice of 5 wines) is $10 as of 28th August 2022. The view is absolutely amazing and seating is very comfy too. Due to summer, it was mostly outdoor seating. The view of the lake and vineyards is really pretty! The servers are excellent and knowledgeable. The seating is very comfortable and we were lucky to get there early enough for a lake facing table. We ordered the tasting flight and selected our own wines. The wine was delicious. They clearly put a lot of thought and effort into the landscaping, crafting every turn of the paths and location of each chair. We ended up in the front row of seats laid back in Adirondack chairs with both a table in front and on the side. An umbrella provided some needed shade as we enjoyed our wine looking out at the grapes spread to the water. Soft rock music played in the background completing the chill vibes. Crowd: It was not very crowded, which seemed strange considering it was made for beautiful days. Not sure if its location a little off the main road dissuaded visitors. Service: Stellar service from the second you walk in. Loved that they went around letting guests test the grapes to see if they would be ready to be used in wine and then see how they tasted.
