I started off with a side of their pub pretzels. Warm soft baked pretzel sticks served with a side of their Chardonnay fondue. The fondue had a the distinct chardonnay flavor and enhanced the flavor of the pretzel and salt. It's a simple appetizer, but I recommend you try this! Then I ordered their orange mezcal pork tacos. Two flour tortillas stuffed with pork, cheese, caramelized red onions, and drizzled in an orange mezcal sauce. The sauce is what took these tacos from plain pork tacos to "Wow, I need these tacos again." This is a winery and the food area is cafe style. Bring your wine and seat yourself. When you are ready, you can place your orders up at the counter. A laid back take on winery dining. Very Rude women working there. We came in with a large group within minutes they came out to the parking lot basically yelling that we were are a large group and we better have patience. One person in the group went in a bought a bottle of wine and they told him that not enough of us were buying stuff so we had to leave while he was making his purchase. The rest of us didn't have a chance to buy anything cause that nervous woman working was frustrating herself so much she asked us to leave. They weren't even that busy. Never again. The tasting room is beautiful, they have a nice cafe and I imagine sitting outside in the summer with their dry rose is absolutely wonderful. This winery had a ton of options in terms of seating. They had a quaint tasting room, cafe seating, and two different outdoor patios. The cafe stole the show here with tons of choices that were executed very well! My husband and I loved our charcuterie board and pizza. The service was quick which was good since they were fairly busy. The only downside was the quality of the wine. Compared to other wineries in the area, we didn't think the wine was as good. Don't get me wrong...we still drank it . I'd say plan to have lunch here and perhaps just share a glass of wine or tasting if you're planning to drink. read more

This is the first vineyard/winery we visited in the Finger Lakes. The staff at Fox Run Vineyards are really friendly, but, the wines didn't quite impress us (but it was hard since we're coming from California and France, so it wasn't too surprising). The $10 tasting includes five wines, plus oyster crackers. You start with the Kaiser Vineyard Chardonnay and then choose from a flight of dry, sweet, or Riesling wines. They let us swap, so I went with the Riesling flight, switching out the sweeter Lake Dana Riesling (with a 4% RS) for the Silvan Riesling. For the last wine, you can choose from a list of 10 options, and by the end of the tasting, we ended up trying more than five. Their Piquette tasted similar to kombucha--bubbly, fruity, and a bit strong. My favorites were the Dry Riesling and Semi-Dry Riesling (I'm not a fan of super dry), and the Unoaked Lemberger was solid. It was also nice that they offered in-house grape juice for kids. Stop #4 of our Sunday wine tour. Starting to feel tired and mangled after tasting the first three, we stopped here, located on the main road heading into Geneva from the south. Large parking lot and commercial style with a built-in cafe and gift shop, as well as outdoor and indoor areas for tastings. We sat at the bar and were helped by a guy - glasses and bald - sorry I'm terrible with waiter names. This Winery was first on our stop list of the day. It was beautiful inside and out. Even though we missed the winery tours, we were still able to walk the ground a little and noticed all the beautiful winding flower. Inside the area was split between a bar, shopping area, and Cafe area. My husband and I enjoyed a charcuterie board that was the perfect size for Just the two of us while we sipped through our wine samples samples. We stopped by here as our second stop on a wine tour. I can say I wasn't a fan of the wines, but was a big fan of their charcuterie boards. When you walk into the building, it smells like garlic which I'm a big fan of. We ate most of the charcuterie boards and tried the wines. The venue itself is very pretty but I wasn't a fan of their wines. Also, when we walked in to pick our wines for the tasting, the attendant wasn't very informative, and it was kind of like we had to figure it out on our own. The other two wineries we went to on our tour, they were very attentive so this one seemed lacking in comparison. read more

Obviously the most important thing should be the wine which was very good-we had two self guided flights which was better than a tasting because we could leisurely sip without feeling rushed to try the next option. There is also light food for purchase. What really turned me off though was the service-the woman who greeted us was not friendly at all-seemed annoyed that we didn't immediately know what we wanted. It's a very pretty area, but with so many other wineries nearby, customer service is so important and we truly felt like we were bothering her from the moment we walked in. I went to the Finger Lakes for a little getaway and stopped at Fox Run. It was the best decision I made! Their wine and the atmosphere were absolutely fantastic! You can either seat on their front patio or the back. I went outside to their barn to order my flight and they also had some food there as well. I had their dry flight and each wine was incredible. Their dry Riesling and Unoaked Chardonnay were absolutely amazing! I had to leave with both those bottles. My only complaint is that I wish they had more food options at their cafe, but other than that it was great. Not only can you buy wine but they have other things in their shop. The one thing I loved about them is that their wine is very reasonably priced. If you get lucky sometimes they will have live music. If you are looking for a fun winery to go to in the Finger Lakes then Fox Run should be on your list. It is a must see! read more

This is my favorite winery in Seneca Lake! The views are stunning! They have a beautiful back patio overlooking the lake and the views cannot be beat. Also they have a beautiful patio area in which you sit under grape vines and it truly feels like you're in Italy! Love the vibes here. We were in central NY for a short vacation and took a drive through Seneca to check out the vineyards and scenery, when hunger set in. We found this amazing place! We got the cheese tray, the cured meat and cheese tray and crusty bread. It was the perfect stop. The cafe has outdoor seating and indoor seating with a beautiful view. This is a pretty place I could see an event going on.. I'm not sure if they offer that but I would ask. The outdoor site is pretty, lots of outdoor seating in the back area and a lovely patio and view of Seneca Lake in the front. The inside is large and light and bright. You are greeted when you arrive and you can ask about tastings. They sell all the wines they make onsite. They do have a vintage sparkling that looked interesting I'd want to try it before spending $85 and they also have a White Pinot Noir. It alas you can't try that either.. whatever. What I think is this places strength is the Cab Franc and the 2020 Chardonnay. Now if you want sweeter wines they got you, they make a tramanette (like a Sauterne) and Ruby Port and yes Sparkling and other things. Go with a flight of wines if you are not sure what you want. You can buy some wine, food stuffs, food to eat on site and etc. The people who guide you thru the tasting are knowledgeable and oddly enough most are teachers working here for a second job. You can roll in and do a tasting, it's a nice spot but I can pick up these wines up in the Rochester area. It's worth a quick visit, wines are pretty good. Lots of on-site parking read more

Great way to start the day. Tasting for $10 included 5 variations with full explanation on each by the server. We learned a lot. Then chose our favorite to have a glass and bought some bottles to go. Stayed awhile enjoying the wonderful outdoor area. It is dog friendly. They brought treats to our pup and they had water bowls for them around the outdoor sitting area. Lots of shade and umbrellas and beautiful flowering planters when we went. Very picturesque. Deserves a return visit! read more

We enjoyed a drizzly Sunday afternoon driving along the Lake Seneca shoreline and taking in the Fall leaves. Fox Run was on our list of dog friendly wineries so we stopped in for a tasting of five of their dry wines. All five were excellent! We truly loved them all, which just never happens. Our dog was quite happy on their patio in the back and there is plenty of tables to spread out. We also tried the pretzels with the most delicious cheese sauce made with (shocking, I know) WINE! We mopped up every last drip of cheese. The prices are super reasonable too at $10 for five 1oz. pours for the tasting. This winery is very well run and service was excellent. Really just an absolutely wonderful experience. Everyone was super helpful even if you don't know much about wine. We sat on the front porch outside to drink our flight. The flight tasted OK but the price and ambience and service was so nice that I really would give this place five stars. We moved to the back because we wanted to see more of the grounds. From the back, you could see different vines that have a nice look. As an added note, we had our baby there. We went here because we were looking for a place with an outdoor area where we wouldn't bother anybody. It worked extremely well for our situation and I would say it would work well for other families with young babies. Everyone was super nice about it. We ended up getting a bottle of arctic fox after sampling a couple things that was my favorite. Prices are good and wine is pretty good. read more

As soon as you pull up and see the cool looking metal gate at the entrance you can feel that this place is different from other area wineries. I absolutely loved the outside vine covered patio wrap around entrance, perfect place for some great photos of you and your group! Once inside you are greeted and are taken over to a tasting spot ( we lucked out with no wait) The tasting table is a long L shaped table. Fox run is one of the premier wineries in the Finger lakes region. They are very progressive and have a large variety of very nicely done wines for all ranges of taste. They boast one of the best winemakers and one of the best chefs in the region. Quite often when you visit you will catch one of the owners Scott or his wife Ruth around the tasting room. They have a wonderful wine club you also can join which brings many benefits to its members. This by far is our favorite winery of the Finger lakes.
