All these hotels have a fun vibe. We stayed in the main lodge. The rooms in the main lodge are very simple, the first floor of the lodge is the communal living room. The area is comfortable and decorated nicely, and has board games, shuffleboard, a few fireplaces and hot water for tea. Breakfast in the morning is included. They had fruit, pastries and a protein of sorts, coffee and hot chocolate. In the evening we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar, which has live music some nights 7:00-9:00. There is a hot tub you can reserve for 30 minute increments. We opted to pass due to the weather and our short visit in the area. In the summer, there is a pool, which looks like a lovely set up. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We did visit during peak leaf peaking season, so it was pricey for the room type, but that's what you can expect anywhere in Stowe in October.

100% worth it. Literally- don't pass up this company!…read more We were traveling from Louisiana (where there's no need for snow clothes) to Colorado where we would definitely need weather appropriate clothing. KitLender had it all. I ordered a full kit for myself (a north face jumpsuit, boots, gloves, and goggles) as well as a pair of snow pants. My husband got a snow bib and boots. And my toddler got a full kit (snow bib, jacket, boots, mittens, and goggles). ALL of this for a fraction of the cost to buy. However, the best part was I had to pack NONE of it. It was delivered to my lodge, we used it, repacked it, and it was picked up by FedEx from the lodge to go back to KitLender. I think it was the least stressful part of our family vacation (lol). WILL DEF BE USING AGAIN! THANKS KL!

Zero stars if that were an option. Absolute failure when it mattered most…read more I ordered ski clothing from Kit Lender for 9 people nearly a full month in advance (28 days) for what was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime family trip to Big Sky. We did everything right to avoid issues. Kit Lender did everything wrong. When FedEx tracking showed delays, I proactively contacted the company on December 31. I was reassured they were "working on options." That reassurance turned out to be meaningless. Fast forward to January 2, the night before our 8am flight, and suddenly I'm told nothing can be done. It gets worse. When I called customer service, I was actually told that I should drive to Billings, Montana to pick up the shipment myself from a FedEx warehouse. Let that sink in. Their proposed solution was that I abandon my travel plans to fix their logistics failure. I asked a very reasonable question: why not arrange Saturday delivery, since the items were already sitting at the Billings FedEx facility? I was told a manager named Ben would call me back after speaking with FedEx. He never did. Instead, Ben sent a dismissive email claiming FedEx doesn't deliver to business addresses on weekends. I immediately responded clarifying that we were staying in a private home, not a business. No response. I called again asking for Ben. The person who answered hesitated, clearly knew who I was, and said "uhhh... is this Nikki?" before telling me Ben would call me shortly. He never did. I have now called four times and am sent straight to voicemail. No callback. No urgency. No ownership. Here's the part that matters most: This was a bucket-list trip for my mother, who has breast cancer. She asked for her children and their partners to take her skiing in Big Sky. We spent an enormous amount of money on this trip. And thanks to Kit Lender's complete lack of accountability, we are arriving with no ski clothing for anyone and scrambling at the last minute to fix a problem that should never have happened. Yes, they offered a refund. And then they disappeared. Refunds don't fix ruined plans. Refunds don't replace lost time. Refunds don't excuse a total failure of customer care when things go wrong. Every company looks good when everything goes smoothly. Kit Lender showed exactly who they are when things were in distress. The answer was silence, deflection, and indifference. If your trip matters to you, do not trust this company. When it counted, they did not care -- not about our vacation, not about solutions, and certainly not about their customers.

The rooms are very unique, so do read the descriptions and book what you are looking for. We were looking for privacy and space and stayed in a suite. It had a kitchen, dinning room. living room, balcony, bedroom, and bathroom. So much space to enjoy. The fireplace was my favorite part. The hotel stocks up each room with wood. So easy to enjoy quiet time in your room after skiing. I would say the room was like a time capsule. Definitely dated, but relatively clean. There are stains on the couch, burns in the carpet (from the fireplace sparks), and not everything in the kitchen is clean. BUT we used the kitchen and everything was fine. The bedroom was clean. The bathroom is small and dated, but it's all fine. You can stay at updated/modern hotels in the area and you'll pay at least double. The staff here is very friendly and really makes the stay. Love that this property is part of Choice Hotels too. We'll definitely stay here again!

Besides the VonTrapp estate, this is arguably the most spectacular property I've seen in Stowe so far. My partner loved this place so much 18 years ago, we were both expecting an amazing experience. I guess we can blame short staffing. The owners sold to a corporation in 2014, we're now reading, and I'll just say the care and the details are gone. The soil and stain in the windows obscures a spectacular view, and the patio furniture was very dirty. The shuffleboard area has four of eight pieces with one pole. Cleaning and maintenance staff are lovely. They work very long days. The beds are incredibly comfortable! The room is clean, though there is an odor. On checkout, we weren't asked about our stay. I'm a little sad about it all. Please bring back the awesome place that used to be here!

A very basic, rustic family run inn near stowe vt. This is ideal for a family or group on a budget…read more In addition to reasonable rates (we paid 114.40 a night per room) you can squeeze a bunch of people into each room. One room had 2 full beds and a bunk bed, the other had two queens. This meant, six people had their own bed, with one to spare, for just over 75 bucks a piece. On to the caveats: The hotel is a bit sketchy looking when approaching at night. Its a strip of rooms behind a house. The rooms, while clean, are very outdated. It really had the feel of a family cabin rather than a hotel, so be prepared. Random stuff we found: A large tub of vaseline (minus one star) and a random unlabeled video. There was a quick facebook update followed by a tri-state 10 person argument on if we should watch a potential "Ringu" movie... It turned out to be the travel channel. The owner (guy who checked me in?) was british (australian, I suck with accents?) and super friendly. Considering lots of jokes about hotel bates were made, it was very comforting to have friendly staff. The comparative price of hotels in the area, and the shear novelty of actually putting more than two queen beds in a hotel room, I'm awarding the riverside inn 4 stars. If I'm in the area with a small group, I would consider going back. Its just not for a romantic get away.
