The cover to my car's undercarriage completely came off in Ogden on the 4th of July after I hit a rock. I was able to clip it back on temporarily but called Bountiful Mazda the next morning. Mike answered the phone and was so polite and said he'd definitely be able to take a look at it. I told him I'd be there within an hour. He pulled in my car, looked at it, found two broken clips, replaced them, and told me it was such an easy fix to not worry about paying anything. I was so impressed. I had a really great experience with the service department. They totally saved my car from breaking down. I was driving cross country and had my check engine light come on. Chris helped me through the whole process. Not only did they correctly diagnose the problem (thermostat sensor), Chris brought in more technicians in order to squeeze me in to their booked schedule that day. I was in and out really fast. I went in there yesterday to get an oil change plus my emissions and inspection done on my 2012 Mazda 3. They took some time checking everything and even fixed a flat tire I had . Then everything turned south. They said I needed to replace a rear stabilizer link for 199.00 . I told them I have the Warranty and it should replace it. They took forever to find documentation on my Warranty, they looked it over and said you still need to pay the deductible of 200.00. They said "so either pay the 199.00 or the 200.00, or your safety inspection will fail" I told them I will have my other mechanic look at it to do it cheaper. So after being there for 4 hours I get my car back , with my FAILED inspection and take it to a mechanic shop. They said "it all looks good to me" ..but to take it to another inspection place. So I drove to the next emissions and inspections place and they said they couldn't see any issues with the rear stabilizer link. Wasn't loose or cracked or Anything!! They passed me on my inspection! I call bountiful mazda back and they said they would look into it... I get a call back 15 min later and they say they trusted the guy that did the inspection... And they said "if you want to come back we will give you a discount on that repair" I couldn't help but laugh a little as I told him ... "well , since Its not broken or loose and I passed inspection somewhere else than I don't need you to repair it " All he could say was "I don't know what to say" ....... Because I've had a good experiences with Bountiful Mazda service in the past I took my Ford expedition in for service...needed a new radiator. The communication from the service department and the entire experience was right on. They quoted me a cost beforehand and there were no additional costs! Ryan..(Service dept. ) Awesome!..He went the extra mile..because of the age of the vehicle the battery cables were corroded etc. He cleaned up up under the hood and made sure everything was working properly! In addition, Mazda was not able to get a part in time to fix my expedition the same day so I they offered a loner for the day...who does that??!!! Our experience here was terrible. The salesman didn't know how to answer our questions and when I would ask him something, he would look at my husband to answer. He did not take me seriously, it was like I wasn't there. We ended up taking our business elsewhere because of this guy. He seemed to be the only salesman they had. Also, they had one Mazda CX9 on the lot and a dozen cx5's. We had to wait for them to bring up a cx9 from Orem and the day we had scheduled to go in, our salesman went home sick and didn't arrange it. It was not a good experience. read more

I bought a Camry from here back in 2013. I was an out of state buyer (TX) but after reading their reviews and seeing that the price was nationally competitive, I decided to go ahead and purchase the car. I put down a deposit and some papers were overnighted to me to sign. I noticed a mileage error that was different from the listing. I called bountiful mazda for clarification and the salesman checked and it was actually a paperwork error. After verifying with the finance office (I also called the finance office separately), the salesman told me I could just cross it out, write the correct mileage, and initial it. Actually getting the car was pretty simple but since it was my first time buying out of state, I verified multiple times that everything was in order and ok. I received a temporary tag and was told that I could go pay the state sales tax and get the actual license plates in about 40 days. Unfortunately, when I went to the local tax office there was an issue with signatures and the paperwork had to be sent back to the dealership.Ok, fine mistakes happen. I called the dealership title clerk and was told everything would be fixed and I would be called when the paperwork was sent out again. I didn't receive a call. I emailed a follow up to bountiful and got an email back saying everything was in order and the paperwork was sent back to the local TX tax office. Long story short, I ended up going to the tax office 2x more due to errors with the paperwork (the mileage issue they told would be fine and another time the name of the dealership was different in 2 places on the paperwork). The temporary tag expired and I had to buy another one. TX also charges 5% purchase price penalty if you don't register your car within 30 days of bringing it to TX. Luckily I waited awhile to get the inspection done and they took the inspection date as the "day the car arrived in TX" so I avoided the penalty. In bountiful's defense, they did reimburse me for the temporary tag I had to buy and they apologized profusely. It could've been much worse and they did eventually sort it out (after 3x 30 min roundtrips + waiting at tax office). In summary, even with good reviews and good reputation, don't trust any place. Make sure the Ts are crossed and Is are dotted yourself. read more

Bought a car there and it has problem after problem. When we talked to them, they all admitted that we got a bad one but no one was willing to do anything about it. To show their desire to help, all they wanted to do is sell us a new car. No discounts, no offers that would compensate us.....nothing! Just the same round of, "let me run this past the sales manager." I have had to have it towed in, drive it in while next to no power, stepping on the gas and getting a herky, jerky motion, etc, etc. discussed with them the lemon law and they said it had to come in three times due to the same problem. This doesn't qualify because a different sequence of lights come on. Have had loaner cars several times for four and five days. Had a new " Mother Board" put in a few months ago and today had to have it "reprogrammed". I love the way the car rides and other things, but hate all the problems. The first time they charge me for anything, I am going to trade it in somewhere else and buy a different model. Not trusting Mazda's anymore! read more

So I had a bad experience with another car dealer in Bountiful. Arrived check in hand to purchase a car that I had selected and once there, got a major BS run around and walked out. Went down the road to Bountiful Mazda, got more car, nicer interior (two tone leather), nicer color (love that Mazda red) for a bit less money than the other car. I have always heard that buying a car from a dealer is a hassle. This was my first time buying a car and it was a breeze. During the week I was able to email the manager, Dave, and get all approved in just a matter of days. Even on Daves day off he called to let me know I was approved. When I arrived at the dealer they had everything ready to go. I test drove the car with one of the salesman, Jeff. Jason was so polite and helped me sign some of the paperwork. For the last 10 years I have been a customer with Bountiful mazda (all service, 2 cars, and a referral who bought a car). I recently had my first issue with the service department and it was a simple (but costly) error with an oil change. When I didnt recieve help from the service manager, I spoke with the general manager and he was fantastic! I have done a lot of car shopping in the last few years and my experience with Bountiful Mazda was disgraceful. I first contact then on Friday they told me the car was at their bountiful location in an email and voice mail. I show up on Saturday and the car is not there it's in their Orem location so we set up a time to look at it on Monday and they would have it their by 3:30. I get of work at 3 look at my phone and their was a text from the salesman and it's said " I wanted to touch bases with you. Before my managers get the car from Orem they wanted to know if you're good with the $7,998 sales price. Give me a call" so I texted back asking if they had the car because it was already 3. And she said "Unfortunately my managers wanted a for sure on the price before we could go get it. If you are interested in it for the $7,998 I can have it here tomorrow. " I was pissed and then said now I only want to pay 7800 if it's worth it I'm not guaranteeing anything I haven't even looked at it. I go and look at it on Tue and it had problems there is no power steering they said they were willing to fix it but me and my husband are think what else could be wrong with it. We start going thought the financing the min we even suggest to negotiate a lower price the finance manager comes out starts yelling at me to my face telling us that we are wasting his time and that we should just leave. He stands up and yells "COME ON BOYS LETS LOCK UP" pretty much implying that we should  get the fuck out. I have never been so disgusted with such a man toddler in my life if this company decides they want to stay in business they should probably look to find a new finance manager cuz it sounds like he's losing them business. I suggest you go somewhere where people show you respect. read more
