I bet that if I bring the car in and they have a different diagnosis for me. But of course we still had to pay the $300 for their time to inspect the car.

I agreed and after it was done I came, Paid and went to drive my car out of there parking lot. AND NO POWER STEERING. I went into there lobby and a guy came out and looked it over. But because it was the end of the day they said they would need to figure it out tomorrow. I got a call saying my power steering pump went out. He stated power steering pumps go out all of the time which is absolutely not true. I had to pay them $1100.00 to replace the pump just to be able to drive it off of there lot. The car drove like garbage after that so I took it back to them. And it also was still over heating. So the flush did nothing. They told me that all it needs is a alignment and that I need to take it someplace else. Making it clear that they were done with me. I took it to Firestone. FIRST THING THEY TOLD ME WAS THE FRONT STRUTS WERE SLAMMED SO HARD THAT THEY WERE LOCKED UP. AND THE RACK AND PINION WAS DAMAGED AND NOT FUNCTIONING RIGHT. $5000.00 quote to fix. So my best guess is that J-Mac radiator dropped the front end of my vehicle of the lift or whatever they use. Locking up the struts and blowing out the entire steering system. THEN LEAVING IT IN THE PARKING LOT AS IF NOTHING IS WRONG FOR ME TO PICKUP. THEY DENIED EVERYTHING!!! But I called with a recording app on my phone and was told that the steering went out while they were on the test drive. PROVING THE CAR WAS FINE WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF. Before J-Mac tries to deny or say my claim is false. I have receipts for all of this. I tried small claims court but this happened summer of 2020 during covid and the courts were closed. I tried to sue again later but still during covid I was told by the courts that the only way to sue was to get notarized documents to submit through there window. So I gave up. If the owner of J-Mac radiator would like to make this right. I would be willing to talk and bring all my receipts. Especially the receipt I paid for the flush. Then the receipt I paid a day later for a new power steering pump just to be able to drive it off of the lot.

Our trusty 2001 Toyota Highlander with 165k miles started consuming oil like crazy (1 quart every…read more100 miles!) on a cross-country road trip from Seattle to Charleston, SC. The Toyota dealer in Ogden charged us $125 for a cursory inspection that didn't even include compression test and insisted we needed a new engine. The great guys at European & Japanese Auto (Samuel and Melvin) performed a compression test (found no issues) and scoped the valves with a camera (mostly clean). The Toyota dealer wanted another $300 for those extra steps. These guys would not take payment for the diagnosis. Turns out the excessive oil consumption was caused by the poorly designed rear valve cover and PCV valve assembly, not a dying engine. Somehow the Toyota dealer forgot to mention this well-known issue with older Highlanders and Lexus vehicles. Samuel and Melvin installed an OEM redesigned rear valve cover and gasket (bought from the dealer), a new PCV valve and tubing and intake gasket. Charged half the amount that the dealer wanted for the work ($799 vs $1600). Three days and 500 miles later.... We checked out Provo, UT. Toured the Arches National Park. And now we're relaxing in sunny Santa Fe, NM. Checked our oil many times along the way. The oil level hasn't budged since we left the shop. Problem Solved! These guys are a rare combination of highly skilled automotive expertise, generosity, and honesty. If we lived in the Salt Lake City area they would definitely be our regular auto mechanics. 100% completely satisfied.
