Out for our usual, "we're hungry, let's try somewhere new" mood and stumbled on this quaint restaurant looking for chicken and waffles and drinks. The place has a quiet feel to it not too big for a corner location but good enough. Christmas decorations was a good touch to help bring in the spirit a bit. Lauren our bartender was among the best parts of our time here, the drinks are outright amazing, first we tried a Southern Teir - Bourbon Smash craft beer (A must- like a twist on Moscow Mule) & I opted for something different and was pleased Lauren asked questions to gauge my taste and proceed to go under the bar for a secret stash of drink recipes and whipped up one of the best tasting bourbon drinks I've ever had (Bullet, pomegranate liqueur, lemon bitters, smoked cinnamon) I tried to remember the name but the drink quickly made me forget that. Menu(s) is all over the place and could use some organization, nonetheless we ordered wings (Hot $ Bourbon BbQ) then Cheeseburger sliders and Chicken and Waffles. The first batch of wings were perfect, so much we order another this time we went for Nuclear( they didn't have unfortunately) so Very Hot and Bang Bang (Chipotle Mayo) but was not as good cook wise, flavor wise Bang Bang might be the best. Nothing too crazy to mention about the sliders n fries, standard yet tasty. The chicken and waffles was more like French toast and boneless chicken sadly but must admit the flavor on it was on point. Oh I should mention we were happy it was happy hour and items we ordered were included so the bill was very favorable. I ordered chicken tacos and I almost died. The second they placed the plate down it smelled like something rotten. It was an absolutely awful smell. I tasted the white sauce that was drizzled on top thinking it may be the sauce I'm not familiar with but it wasn't. I picked up the pieces of chicken and smelled them and holy s$$t I thought I was smelling dog s$$t. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't even have the plate near me anymore. When i told the waitress she had nothing to say. No apologies, nothing. And it so happens the table behind me heard me and said "your chicken too?" They had ordered a salad with grilled chicken and their chicken smelled the same. They gave it back. I just cannot believe a restaurant who is there to feed people can serve rotten chicken. It truly boggles my mind how they are still open. Their cocktails are awful tasting too, they just look pretty. I will never go back and warn others to stay away. I would never want any local restaurants to suffer but when you open your doors and serve awful smelling and rotten food to people, you should not be in business. read more

My quick assessment of "Bourbon & brews". I live what they're going for with the steam punkish atmosphere, the creative menu and of course the bourbon. The "but" is that at the end of the day it's really just a small local mom & pop kind of bar that happens to have an interesting menu. What i mean by that is it's physical size. There's really very little seating. You know, the classic Long Island bar layout, long and slim with the bar on one side and a few high tables on the other leaving a small space between them that im sure becomes impassable when the bar gets crowded. For us thats an issue because of the wheelchair. Luckily her chair elevates so she could reach the table. Thats the bad. As for the good, the staff is very polite, friendly and attentive. They have a nice assortment of taps for which they are to be commended. Not just six IPA's and coors light. KUDOS ! As a bourbon fan i was pleased to see the vast choices of bourbons available. And the food ? Yum. We had the bourbon peanutbutter wings which for me is a no brainer for two reasons. Reason 1 - "peanutbutter rules!" 2 - if it seams like a peculiar or possibly even disgusting combination, im tryin it because many a great food item has been discovered by doing so and these were no exception. Its kind of like honey roasted peanuts meet fried chicken and surprisingly tastes really good. We also had the sampler which is brilliant because when you put unique or unusual items on your menu, people are gonna wanna try them all but wont want full orders in case they're gross. The sampler included the bourbon peanutbutter & banana sandwich which was delicious and for me nostalgic because i grew up eating peanutbutter and banana sandwiches only this one has a hint of sweetness and is toasted like a grilled cheese. Yum. Then there was the bacon wrapped cheese sticks. Holy molie ! I believe them to be made in house, battered mozzarella which is delightfully wrapped in the single greatest food ever invented and served with they're sweet bourbon sauce. My obsession with bacon is well known throughout the land so of couse i like anything that involves it but not everything is a home run. These cheese sticks absolutely are. They were hands down the best thing we had and the sauce gives it a completely different taste which makes ypu feel like you have two completely different yet equally delicious meals in front of you. Two thumbs up. The last item was fries. Hailed as "bourbon fries" they were really just fries with parsley or something similar on them & drizzled with bourbon sauce. Honestly they were a bit under cooked and sauce just kinda made them taste like raw fries dipped in maple syrup. Not a home run. Perhaps that sauce would be better on sweet potatoe fries and from my perspective, a nice pile of parmesan truffle fries would have knocked it out of the park. We'll definitely be back to sample some of the other interesting items on the menu. read more

Food was nothing to write home about. I ordered wings and the Buffalo crumble fries, I always question why places love to stack their food as opposed to spread it out. The fries were so difficult to eat having to dig in to the cone they were served in & lacked flavor in that they tasted like pre-made sauce was just poured on top of it. The bar definitely had a smell to it, that sticky bar smell which is always a turn off for me. My husband and I had the CBR and Deep South sandwiches; bread was dry, chicken was deeply fried where you could not taste chicken anymore. We ordered food for pick up but we had to ring 3 times before somebody picked up. Food: we ordered mild chicken wings, mozz sticks, chicken tidbits and circus burger, it was all tasty, the tidbits sw is a little dry without a sauce but good flavour, I had asked for medium burger but was well done, wings were perfectly cooked and flavoursome but would like few more in the order, we would defo order here again but with little tweaks it would have been 5*, Prices are normal for the area and they are doing 20% off for happy hour which is 12-7 Overall it is our local place and will definitely go back for drinks when all this craziness calms down read more

In case this screenshot of mine doesn't come up: I was planning on going out for a drink with a friend and suggested B&B. My friend shared with me that the owner, John knew one of his staff was COVID positive and didn't tell any of the other staff. This is pretty conducive with my one experience at B&B. I went to try it out and ordered typical bar food and a drink that sounded intriguing. My waitress came outside mask down and also disappeared for 20-30 minutes at a time. I understand it was busy and warm, but as someone who wears full PPE for 12hrs a day, I can say it's not the most oppressive thing in the world to have to wear a cloth mask, especially while serving food. The CDC guidelines state that food service staff must still wear masks, regardless of vaccination status. The food was also cold, mediocre, and the whole sticking bourbon in EVERYTHING was a little much for me. Overall, shitty experience and the food wasn't worth it. Based on other reviews, I see other people had similar experiences with the wait staff. Also based on the owners responses, he seems to prefer to turn the blame around instead of apologize and reassure of their standards and precautions. Also, side note, if you have an exterminator come bi-weekly, you clearly have an out of control infestation issue. read more

Just gonna leave this here. Was here twice in the past couple of weeks to sit outside for a drink and a quick bar snack. the food was grotesque even though we played it safe with a pretzel and a chicken quesadilla. The "beer cheese" that came with the pretzel was literally the consistency of beer and tasted like it was just poured into whatever sad cheese sauce directly - not actually prepared properly and very gross. The chicken quesadilla was dry and tasted like it was prepared with leftover ingredients, all around disgusting food. Another thing that I found to be completely gross about this place was that our waitress had a mask but it was pulled down past her chin the entire she was serving - she also seemed to be incoherent or intoxicated in some way. We went out to the bar last night and there was a misunderstanding regarding service. I wrote a review that was not 4 star. The owner John, responded to my review immediately and explained the situation as well as offered to present us with a gift card. Not only was the reason for the mix up completely understandable but offering a gift card was above generous. I apologize for my part in the mix up as well. We are local people who have frequented this bar before and will continue because of people like John who value customers and the service his establishment provide. The drinks were tasty and food good. I am appreciative of the Local Hero Discount offered. However after being there for Happy Hour and well into the night we were told that the discount could not be applied to the happy hour tab as the prices were already discounted. Well then why is it listed on your website "off any tab" there are no stipulations listed.. ANY means ANY ( a lack of restriction). We were also told by the bartender and well as it being listed on the happy hour menu that cocktails were $7, upon review of the tab we were changed $9 for all cocktails. It may not seem like a lot but with a number drinks for a few people does add up. When asked the bartender I was simply told "well that is what it rang up as when I put it into the system." A fine concept. We've gone once a month since it opened. Service declines each time. Food takes a long time to come out. When it does, typically fries are hot out of the fryer, but sandwich/burger is cold. Beer selection was nice but then switched to pumpkin heavy in the fall and now is mostly the standard run (bud light, Guinness, blue point toasted, etc.) that you could find at a 7-Eleven. In all fairness, it's a dive bar, and a pretty good dive bar. read more

Easily the BEST bar in the area. The food is incredible, way beyond what I expected from a bar. The atmosphere is rustic, rugged, and to die for. The bourbon tacos were sweet and zesty, the cajun popcorn had a great kick,/!; the Young Frankenstein was one of the best cocktails I've ever had if you're looking for something spicy. This establishment opened a few months ago. I became interested in the place because it was on my jogging route and saw the renovations. The old place was run down and really not good for a neighborhood hang. The owner redid the entire place and if you ever go frequent the bar you will love the backstory. That said - Love this place. All feel welcome. Everyone who I have ever brought there enjoyed the place and most have become regulars. Why, because for some reason when you walk in, your stress walks out..It has a upbeat vibe. All staff smile, all staff are attentive and all are made to feel welcome. Need some time to wind down - perfect place to have a drink before having to face the world again.. Have a small group that want to have a dink and hang - this place works for that also. I see some comments about the food. The food is different. I'm not much of a whiskey guy. I felt I owed it to he place to try one of these fancy whiskey cocktails. You know, the ones the put a blowtorch to. I wasn't a big fan if either of the ones I tried. I wanna be clear I got no perspective on these type of beverages. Could have been as good or better then another similar location. Had some appetizers and very disappointed. I picked up a mozz stick to tear it in two, and immediately slammed it back down on the plate in disgust, as it wouldn't easily come apart. Don't need to put that to the tongue to know it's no good. The nachos were cheap and weak, couldn't do a proper scoop of the other ingredients. He last app was a quesadilla and what I thought was garlic bread.
