    Burger with French Fries

Met friends for dinner and was happy to see they have an Oktoberfest menu! One friend and I each had the chicken schnitzelwich and we split a side of potato pancakes and apple sauce. Delicious! My other friend had the Oktoberfest burger which had a potato pancake on it (among other things)! She loved it. Our server was very friendly and made great recommendations regarding beverages. We were not rushed which was perfect. It was a bit loud but otherwise a great experience!

Love bunker! Visited here on a Friday evening around 7pm. Plenty of tables with tvs all around. Don't have a picture but their Bavarian pretzel is one of the best!! Chicken tenders are crispy and French onion is delicious. Service is spot on always!

    Our meal - Great Burger!

We had a business meeting in Wantagh, NY and had time for lunch. The choices were many, and incidentally we ended up at a place called Bunker Hill American Taproom (https://www.bunkerhillny.com/). It's on Wantagh Avenue, just north of route 27, on the left-hand side (going north). We peered through the entrance, not knowing what it was like inside, and found a posting proclaiming "Burger & Drink for $10". Ok then, we thought; "That sounds very reasonable deal - far better than the McDonalds, next door :)" We entered and found a very cool bar atmosphere. There were folks at the bar, large TV screens, and a nice sized dining area. I said to my wife; "This is a place I can see myself hanging out in." Mike greeted us and instructed us to pick any spot in the dining area, which we did. There were others having lunch, so we quickly felt at home. Mike followed us to our table and gave us the menu. Wow - They have quite a selection... mainly bar food, but a lot of variety, with some fine twists. I asked Mike about the place, asking; "What went on in the evenings and weekends? (it looked like fun)" He informed it was a popular place, with live music, and an extensive selection of beers on-tap... and he boasted with pride - great food. (And they have specials - see photo!) We told him we were in a bit of rush and wanted the Burger special. Within a short time, our amazing meal arrived! Not only was the burger meat perfectly cooked - and thick! - but I always note (and appreciate) when a restaurant takes care in selecting the bun for a burger - It was thick, with a bit of a crunch. The whole thing spoke of pride and the taste was incredible. I elected to have a salad, instead of fries, but my wife took the fries and said they were great. Anyway, that's our simple lunch experience. We recommend stopping by this place. We'll definitely be back! Thank you Mike!! PS - We did not tell Mike we would post a review before-hand.

    Big, beautiful bar

A mixed review here. First, the place looks great! There's a dining area in addition to a large bar. We found 2 seats at the bar and jumped into a couple of cold ones from the long list of beer offerings. Our bartender was friendly, and kept the brews coming - even buying back the 3rd round... thank you! The appetizer list is very tempting. We settled on the "Tot-chos," and they rocked! Tater tots with bacon, cheddar, sour cream and scallions, Outstanding. Pretty much everything you want in bar food! We we a bit disappointed with our entrees. The Mrs ordered fried chicken on a biscuit. She said the chicken was good, but the biscuit was too large and dry. I got a cheddar burger. It was cooked well, but just wasn't the juice running down you arm treat I love in a great burger. Maybe the meat mix was very lean? Additionally, the brioche bun was a bit too large, so the burger seemed "bready." The fries with both sandwiches were great. Will we come back? Probably!

Large party on a Saturday night handled with ease!

Came here last night with a party of 12. It was mayhem in a good way. We sat, ate and enjoyed company. After grazing on all the traditionals (pretzel with beer cheese was PERFECT, wings were 'ok', crab cakes were good, Brussels sprouts were really good), we migrated over to the bar area. I went on to the cucumber salad which was really good, dressing on side was too vinegar-y. Most of the table moved on to burgers or sandwiches. Burgers are on brioche, steak sandie was on ciabatta. Tater tots that I stole from my buddies plate were really good. Burgers looked fantastic, cooked perfectly, I already had my burger fill this week. Service was really good given how busy they were. Great tap beer, I had a few fantastic Troegs, think it was nugget nectar, served in a pint glass (glad I wasn't driving). The place is a recently combined two storefronts. They did a lot of work and it looks fantastic.

Started with the Bavarian (giant) pretzel with mustard and beer cheese; most people know that's my favorite thing. And let me tell you...WOW! Both my companion and I agreed that this thing is awesome. What a taste sensation. Likewise, I went on to have a fried chicken sandwich on a think large rectangular biscuit. Yeah, it was decadent and the chicken breast and biscuit are too big to put in your mouth (I opted to eat them with knife and fork). But this "sandwich" and pickles and delicious fries. Similarly, my friend's burger was lost in a massive brioche roll. This is a great new place for American pub food!! One small issue (and I never have this problem) is that the place was freezing! Could just be the changing weather. I'll still be back for sure.

    Spinach Artichoke Dip (10/10)

Great atmosphere, and even better food! The spin dip is the best one I've had in a while. Perfect flavor, texture, and taste! The pear Gorgonzola salad was served in a healthy portion, and was so well balanced - shout-out to the dressing!! Great service, and would highly recommend this spot for lunch!

I came here about a week ago on a Saturday for their Heartbreakers party (5pm-9pm) with a few…read morefriends and had a great time! Tickets (~$30/pp) were easy to purchase via their website and they email you the QR code which you can show at the door when you arrive. No need to print the ticket! I was surprised at how big the venue was inside because from the outside, it looked like a small spot. Apparently this spot has been around for awhile because when I mentioned the place to my stepfather in law, he knew about it from when he was younger! The place was also surprisingly very clean and tidy. Coat check was $3 cash and the line went relatively fast. I was really happy they did not misplace or lose my jacket at the end of the night (speaking from my clubbing days from "back in the day"). You get a physical ticket after handing them your jacket and they even tell you to take a picture of the ticket in case you lose it during the night. After getting my coat checked, there was a table with lit up flower headbands and lit up foam sticks. These were both a hit as almost everyone at the venue had one of each. I would say the age range went from those in their 30s up to women in their 50s. Everyone was respectful of each other which was great. The place was crowded but not so crowded that you couldn't move around or felt claustrophobic though at times, the venue did get kind of warm inside. I did not order any food but I think the VIP tables had that option. I also did not order any drinks because I do not drink alcohol. My friends that did drink seemed happy with what they got. There were multiple bars throughout the venue which was great as you didn't have to walk far to get a drink. I had no issues with any of the staff throughout my night. The bartenders were pleasant as well as the staff handling the coats, the bouncers and security. There were two bathrooms (men and women) and there was always a line for both. At this specific party it was females only so staff allowed us to use the mens bathroom. The DJ (DJ Mary Mac) was great and played a good variety of music throughout the night. There was even a portion of the night where January birthday party goers got up on the stage to celebrate their birthdays. Sound quality was great and even though this was a "day party", it really felt like we were partying at night like the good old clubbing days haha. The con is that parking is hard to find so arrive early before the party. It is located right next to the LIRR train station so I guess that's good for those that want to travel by train. A lot of areas around the venue was 1 hour parking until 6pm or 8pm which was annoying because the party I was going to started at 5pm. Overall, I would definitely return for other events! It seems from their website that they always have something going on!

Visit Date: July 29, 2025 (Early morning, after midnight)…read more So I had a crazy few days lol. I went to the Nelly/Ja Rule/Eve concert, the next day I worked and drove my son and I out to WildWood, NJ to participate in a short part of my boyfriend's annual family vacation, Tuesday night I left Wildwood at 10 PM because I had a notary class Wednesday. After the concert my friend Jen told me she was going to be here with her other friends. So I went to meet them because I didn't get to see them during the concert. Jen is so amazing she's very generous with me even though she doesn't have to be, so she paid for my burger that I ordered here because I didn't eat dinner and when I got to Boss Crocker's I was hungry. I gave the bartender a $20 tip because if someone pays for my meal I like to pay it forward and give the waitstaff or bartender a banger tip. The bacon cheeseburger was very good. They made it very fast, I don't know if it was the hunger but I loved it. They made it medium rare at my request and it was one of the best burgers I ever scarfed down. The bar was a pretty good environment, it was a pretty chill crowd for a Sunday night, more packed than I thought it would be. I can't say much about the drinks I only drank water but give Boss Crocker's a chance!

Stopped into Boss Crokers during the daytime and had a fantastic experience from start to finish…read more The staff immediately stood out--especially our bartender/server, whose name I believe was James (or Jimmy). He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and made us feel right at home the moment we walked in. That kind of hospitality goes a long way and really sets a place apart. I ordered the Boss Burger Deluxe, and this was not your typical bar burger. It honestly ate more like a steakhouse-quality burger--juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. One of the better burgers I've had in a long time. Washed it down with a Guinness (2). While I don't love the size of the pour, I have to give credit where it's due--it was a great pour, done right, and that matters. I can't speak to the nighttime scene since I was there during the day, but it's a true local Irish pub, and I'd assume it turns into a fun time once the night crowd rolls in. Either way, I'll definitely be back--and I'd suggest everyone check it out for themselves.
