Food: Santa Fe salad is larger than a sombrero! Amazing and lots of salad. The Cobb salad was so good our group went back for round two! Reuben did not disappoint! Highly recommend. Service the girls were super busy so it took them a bit but they will get to you. They just were little overwhelmed so be patient they are really nice and helpful. Well idk what was up today but went during the lunch rush bad idea, the poor waitress was all over the place and when the food finally came I feel like it was mostly burnt this is not the first time here I have been to their location in taylorsville but I am not sure if it's the same name and the food there was great! But who knows about this location it is much roomier and more seating and two pool tables but again the food was not up to par and the service was a bit slow. Decor is the normal sports bar and the bathrooms were clean. There was plenty of parking available they have an outdoor seating space but I did not utilize it. Btw my sticks were not cooked all the way I felt like the cheese should have been melted better. read more

Great place to watch Monday Night Football. We ordered a little bit of everything, it seemed. Everything was very tasty. The most unique item has to be their Chubby burger--instead of a bun they use two grilled cheese sandwiches! I appreciated their speedy, attentive, friendly service and their willingness not only to provide to-go boxes, but a to-go cup for my water. read more

I go to sports bars all the time. All over North America. Wings here were very good. Beer was cold and accurately described by my server. BG Music was AIC, Tool and Filter. No complaints. But please keep the staff drama away from the customers.... This is not a Ritz Carlton lobby bar I know, but customers don't need to be in the loop about somebody phoning in sick or kitchen staff problems. I wanted to try something out of the ordinary, as there are several chain restaurants around this pub. The fare was ok, my pretzel was the best part of the meal but it's difficult to ruin that. The "fire" wings were not that hot, and teriyaki seems to be a popular flavor here. The Fire was more mild ish than hot and seemed to be the only option for a hot flavor. Staff were attentive and quick with orders. I'd visit again and try the wings a 2nd time and if not extra crispy as ordered will return them to ensure that part. Since SLC is mostly 4% alc content in beer, other options are avail. This is a sports bar pure and simple. It was busy and a pretty good crowd for a Friday. Decent food at decent prices. read more

After spending hours in our hotel room yesterday, helplessly watching after my bf recover from his early morning surgery, we wanted to get out and see some nightlife in the area. The front desk at Hampton suggested Bout Time, so we ubered over and found a spot at the bar, thinking it'd be best service for our quick bite. We ordered a couple drinks and also the HatTrick plate, which comes with 3 small skewers each of chicken, beef, and shrimp, over a plate of fries, with several dipping sauces. Food was good, drinks were a little slow on the refill, but it was still a fun spot. Firecracker sauce was surprisingly not even medium heat, but was still tasty on the chicken skewer. Was glad we chose this plate instead of the wings though, once we'd tried it. Not very crowded inside for a Friday, but both pool tables were occupied, and they also have pinball, air hockey and electric basketball hoops inside, plus tons of tables and tvs. We both stepped away from the seats briefly, covered our drinks, and came back to find someone in my boyfriend's seat. We politely moved down, but it wouldve been nice if the bartender had said something, since it was obvious we were coming back and there were tons of other seats together down the entire bar. However, his attention was kind of hard to get all night. We travel a lot and usually find a favorite bar/ restaurant on a trip that we'll return to, either on same or subsequent trips. When I think of the west valley Bout Time location the term that comes to mind is Jovial.. it's a relaxed, festive environment.. the staff are all characters and are friendly and pretty chatty, they are great about drink suggestions and if it's not your jam, they will make you something else.. there's ample seating, a few booths for crowds in the back, a large bar top, tvs of various sizes with all the sports events. It's 21+ only, so no kiddos allowed. Now let's talk about the food.. it's bar food, but done very well, great price point, burgers are delicious and come with homemade fries, I'd be ready to defend that they have the best garlic burger in all of Utah, hands down, no other has come close, except Hoppers in Midvale! The food was great, but the service was horrible. The server did not acknowledge us. We had to tell her we were ready to order our drinks and food. They confused our order and it was a while before we received anything. She never came back to check on us. We had to ask another server for our check. We complained to another server, and she responded it is kinda busy when half the bar/place was empty. I would not recommend this place. I've been to this location a couple of times. It has a very large footprint as compared to other Bout Time locations, which have been in a strip mall, or shared a building with other businesses. This location has the entire building to itself. They would be great for larger groups due to the spacious facility. There are lots of TVs around the building tuned to sports channels for your viewing pleasure. I've ordered lunch here before, but this latest visit was just to grab a drink before heading out to meet friends. They bar staff was attentive. They were having a shift change as we were finishing up and both the bar tenders checked on us to make sure we were taken care of. The unpleasant thing we noticed while sitting at the bar was the smell of old grease. Even if we were going to order something to eat, we probably would have opted to avoid the fried foods because of the smell. read more

I'll acknowledge a gent named Matt who said he was a Manager and did listen to our concerns about having a good customer experience- and I'll also preface that I understand short staffing due to covid....we're kind patrons and still left a tip as we understand all of the above. The Bloody Mary did not even come subpar- it was underwhelming, not dressed and tasted watered down. Sadly the server's attitude matched the underwhelm. The chips/queso are like a 7-11 chips and cheap cheese and I could see this as a staple for someone intoxicated without taste buds...just really not good. We came as a group of football fanatics who play on multiple fantasy leagues and it's fun to patronize places- this location fell flat and we're not likely to be back. The competition two doors down has better pub food and much friendlier staff. Bout time to walk over there for the rest of the Sunday games! read more

I have to say I have tried 3 different locations and it seems they have a similar problem. I'm sure if you just come here to drink it's a different experience,but I don't drink but love to try different food places. What they struggle with is getting everyone's food out in a timely manner. It comes out in waves. And sometimes everyone in the group is almost done eating or there food is cold from politely waiting for you to get yours. I would say the problem seems to stem from only one person cooking and one person serving. Would really like it to be a great experience because it is a fun atmosphere but don't think this is a place I will go again for lunch. read more

I come here for my daily mental health break after work While they have amazing, friendly and surprising fast service for such a large bar, I mostly come for the quality conversations with my favorite bar tenders! Ky is especially sweet and kind, Bridget is always upbeat and knowledgeable about anything I want to order! Horrible experience. Sat ourselves (per the waitress) at the table for 10 min with no contact. Decided to move to the bar for better service. HA! Waited another 15 min and had to ask if we could get a menu. Two others at the bar asked a waitress about ordering, and she replied, "We're running our A**es off back here," and disappeared. They left. We watched while food from the kitchen was placed on a counter (not under a food lamp) outside the kitchen and sat for more than 15min before anyone even tried to serve it. This is our favorite place to pre-game if we go to a show at Usana, the Maverick Center or the Great Saltaire. I can't imagine us making the trek to West Valley for this place unless we were already heading out this way for a show, but we always have a good time. The drinks are decent, moderately priced, and the staff is typically pretty upbeat and fun. There is ample parking. We enjoy shooting some pool here as well. It's a great spot to watch sports on TV, and the crowd is always ready for a game! read more

Got here at about 5:30 pm the night of an event at the Maverik Center. There weren't too many people in there but we didn't see a waitress for almost 20 minutes. After getting some drinks we ordered some appetizers. Our waitress albeit nice was all over the place. One of our appetizers came back to which the waitress replied, " it might take a while for your other one because the cooks lack time management." Multiple times the waitress tried to deliver food or drinks to our table that we didn't order then looked annoyed when we told her it wasn't ours. We had a show at 8pm and at this time it was almost 6:30pm, We decided to order since we didn't know how long it would take. When the waitress came to take our order she then said, "oh it's an event night, we aren't using the regular menu you have to order from this menu". She then gave us a menu that only had a couple sandwiches and some basic burgers to choose from, non of which were what we were going to order. Keep in mind she is the one who brought us our menus in the beginning and mentioned nothing about an "event menu". We ordered food and at this time it started to get a little more busy. Again, another waitress tried to deliver drinks to our table that weren't ours. The wait staff kept yelling at each other back and forth, it was all just very bizarre. The food all came back at different times. I received my French dip first. The fries looked like they were still soaked in grease and the sandwich was pretty pathetic looking. Again, the waitress was sure to blame the cooks time management and them "not knowing what they are doing" on why the orders will come out whenever they do. It probably took 30 minutes after I received my meal for the rest of my table (3 other people) to receive theirs. Their food was in the same condition as mine. Since now it was almost close to 7:30 we figured they was no point in sending the food back because this wasn't a place we really trusted with it at this point after what we witnessed the last two hours. I have to say, I'm impressed with the overall experience for my first time visit here. My server, Bridgette , when out of her way to provide me exceptional service. I loved her energy and enthusiasm. She always seemed approach me with a smile and super accommodating. I came to watch the UFC fight, have some appetizers, and shoot some pool. I use to come to this establishment from time to but I haven't been in awhile. Myself & a friend from work decide to stop by & have a couple of drinks around 2:30pm. The woman working was outside smoking when we got there. We came in to find food baskets & cups all piled up around the bar. We waited for her to return & then we ordered drinks. Our plan was to order an appetizer too but we were never offered menus & after staring at this pile of dirty dishes for quite some time we had lost our appetite anyway. Less than 30 mins later the server checked in to see if we were ok before she went & had another smoke. This place has went down hill! This place racial profiles. I came in after work to grab some food. I was sitting at the bar waiting to be serviced. I was watching videos on instagram to past the time while I waited for a menu. Finally someone came from behind me asking me if I was a "creep". She stated that another waitress was accusing me of videoing her. So she came up behind me to see if I was recording and saw that I was in instagram. I asked for an apology from the person that accused me but the lady refused to have her apologize. She said I should understand how she feels. It has happened to her in the past. I expressed that those past incidents have nothing to do with me. This is how people catch a case, being falsely accused for something they didn't do. I do not recommend this establishment. I was the only African American in the establishment and I honestly believe that I was a victim of racial profiling. read more

Bout Time has a great concept on what a Sports Bar / Pub should be but this location just misses the mark. The basics, in my opinion, should be 1.) Great televisions for sports viewing, 2.) Good food (doesn't need to be stellar, but good fare) and 3.) Friendly service that makes you want to stay glued to the stool for the duration of the game you are watching. Several of the televisions in this place were spotty. Some had reception issues and the one in front of me had the Pittsburgh Steelers wearing black and pink instead of the black and yellow. For some reason it made the game uncomfortable to watch. I ordered the Philly on a recommendation from the bartender. It was flavorless. Really. Dry roast beef with a few peppers and onions. The cheese was sparse but it really wasn't a great (or even good) Philly. The fries were good and a generous portion. Beer selection and drink selection is good at Bout Time. Service wasn't really great. I sat at the bar and was walked past several times by 4 different servers without an acknowledgement. I finally flagged one down to ask for a beer and a menu. My server was talking with friends at the end of the bar and I had to ask him to come take my order and for a refill. I also had to ask him to bring my ticket. Watching the other servers in the bar, it seems there are "favorite" customers, or regulars, getting the attention while the lone travelers are left to their own devices. This place is a solid "meh" at best. When I return I'll try something different on the menu to give it another shot and will hope the service levels were a one-time occurrence. read more

Yes, to draw attention. He hurried and filled the pitcher, gave it to me, and apologized. I paid in the exact amount. No tip. There. (**shitty bartender rant cont'd) I haven't tried their food cuz I don't plan on going there again. If I do go there again I'm stealing something. Maybe an ashtray. To slap the rude bartender on the chin from across the room, in my mind. Cuz that's better than getting an assault charge. Stopped in here in search of an Irish Coffee. Silly me. It is, after all, a sports bar & grill. But I asked for the concoction - even asking IF they could make it. No problem. I got a Bailey's and coffee. Hmmm. Not an Irish Coffee. I let the barman know this wasn't what I was looking for and he asked what was SUPPOSED to be in the mixture. I told him and he added some Jamesons Irish whiskey. No whipped cream in the building, and didn't comment on the also missing brown sugar. Fine. I'll just 'enjoy' this. And "this" cost me $5.93! Although this fellow had a sense of humor. When I accentuated my body language upon receiving the bill (to show my shock!) he said, "Well, the coffee is free. You're paying for the Jamesons and the Bailey's". So, as far as a sports bar goes, it looks like a great place. It filled up fast around lunch time. I really want a local pub with good food and big tv's to watch sports. Sadly Bout time is just not quite there yet. It has a very large space with clearly defines areas which I really like, but the TV's they have are all around 40 inches. I dont see the benefit to go to a bar and watch the game on a TV much smaller than what I have at home. They should at least have one giant tv for the main event like fights or sports. Now on to the food. I was here right after they opened this location and it was really good, but this time we ordered the Irish Nachos and they were clearly burned and had almost no ranch dressing on top. Bout Time is one of the more spacious and newer sports bars in the area. They've got TV's all throughout the place, pool tables and a couple video games including my favorite: Galaga & Pac Man. My most recent visit was on a Tuesday night and the place was pretty empty. We sat at the bar and were served immediately. This was an OK place. Fun atmosphere. Beer was a good price. However, the fish and chips claimed it was a "generous portion" but the three pieces of fish were very small and the chips were extra brown. My husband went home hungry. It was fun to watch the game but the color on the T.V.'s was bad. Orange was pink. The team was playing in red and pink. Most of the T.V.'s were that way, not just a few. The place is very large with pool tables and other games like Pinball and air hockey. Unfortunately, the whole place smelled of old stale grease, not very appealing for a long stay.
