Lucky 13 is such a classic SLC spot and truly a must try!! They are a bar, so the whole party has to be 21+ and have IDs. We opted to sit outside cause it was a nice day. Their patio is great. Our server, Juan, was awesome. He checked on us just the right amount and was very knowledgeable on the menu!! For drinks, I got a Diet Coke (duh), and my husband got a beer. The Diet Coke came in a HUGE glass (as it should!!) and the brew was good. He got the rabbit foot brewing beach bunny and really enjoyed it. Juan let us know people have been loving this and that the owner of lucky 13 is involved with rabbit foot brewing. Love a local connection!! My fiancé & I tried Lucky 13 for the first time tonight after hearing good things about their food & vibes from his coworkers. Pretty disappointed to say the least. When we pulled up, the first thing we noticed and got excited about was their outdoor seating. There were multiple empty tables outside so we were looking forward to being able to get a table on the patio, however, after getting our IDs checked at the door we were told that they "had no tables outside" and we had to choose between bar seating or indoor tables. We figured that since it was a slow Monday night they might close the patio early, so when we paid my fiancé asked our server if the patio closes at certain time. Our server told us that the patio doesn't close early, he just "doesn't have tables outside" so he "didn't want to transfer our tab". Seemed incredibly lazy & honestly bad customer service. The food wasn't great either, pretty mid burgers especially for the price. We were frustrated that we paid over $50 for a couple of burgers & one beer and we were denied the option of sitting outside simply because he just didn't feel like it. They are not trying to be anything except a burger, fries and watering hole. We were age verified with a photo ID scan, never happened before, so much complaining about photo ID. We were seated and ordered the Celestial burger with bacon, caramelized onions, BBQ sauce cheddar cheese, cajun fries and a full order of beer battered rings. The burgers are huge, juicy, and almost over-sauced. The fries were coated in cajun seasoning and piping hot. The basket of rings were huge and had a good crunch. Lucky 13 is a local joint for the ballpark, burger loving crowd. Fancy is not in their wheelhouse but solid burgers live here. I enjoyed the burger, fries and rings, a real solid. For a bar in SLC, this place has fantastic food!! A famous burger joint that holds true to the fame. A great indoor bar vibe, they have also have plenty of patio seating for spring summer and fall. We visited today on Saint Patrick's day and had the opportunity to have their seasonal Irish-man burger topped with corned beef, beer mustard and Swiss ... fantastic.! It was the Monday during the holiday break after Christmas where no one is wanting to cook, so it seemed like everyone had the same idea of going out to eat.
