I think this office is fine! They get the job done for orthodontics and I definitely wouldn't be afraid of coming here. I thought the pricing was transparent and the customer service is fine. Care quality is fine too. With that said, I also didn't think it was amazing. I think they need a bigger space and more employees for how many patients they have. Excellent experience! Super lovely staff. Very clean office- everyone had on masks, hand sanitizer everywhere and they were super efficient and careful moving patients around. You pull up to a parking spot- give them a text you're there and they come get you- easy peasy. I felt super comfortable and safe the whole time. I'm not a typical patient- I had my braces taken off 18 years ago and this weekend my bottom permanent retainer finally gave out. They made time for me the next day to explore my options- I had it replaced and it was quick and easy and they were so nice and made me feel very comfortable. The women working at the front desk where I paid were also lovely and explained everything and just the experience was great from start to finish. Profit seems to be prioritized over patient care and customer service. If you're told anything by staff, be sure to get it in writing and read the fine print! They are extremely adept at luring you in, but once you sign the payment arrangement and the treatment has begun you're just another number. What's sad is that Dr. Bo built a great office prior to the expansion and is a fantastic practitioner, but he can't do everything himself. In my opinion, the people he has surrounded himself with either don't share his original commitment to patient care and customer service or his vision for the practice has changed. Either way I would not go back and I definitely would not recommend anyone else receive care from this practice. read more

Omg, this place is like braces wonderland, if there was such a thing. It's literally fun to come here! It's open & clean and comfy. There are all these different little nooks kids can sit and wait with and chairs and sofas and an overall home-like atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly. There's snacks, flavored water machine, multiple TVs (not too loud!) with various kids-through-adult programming, and my fav--Starbucks machine! Like real coffees, teas, & lattes. Just push the screen to choose and real Starbucks is poured into real Starbucks cups! I'm in love. Oh, and my son likes it too, LOL. I mean he's having to get braces so what more is he gonna say. I received a second opinion consultation by Dr Bo and ended up selecting him for my orthodontic treatment. His consultation was thorough and straight forward and he explained my treatment plan in language I could understand. My daughter has had a lot of dental work since toddlerhood, so I am very particular about her dental care. From the moment we walked in the door at Bovenizer Orthodontics we were treated like friends and family by everyone. The process for braces was thoroughly explained to me and to my daughter as well as the financials. The environment is fun and relaxing for adults and kids alike. The prizes and reward system are very motivating. I had to call on call just once and the attention was personal and the return call immediate for a simple question from someone who had never had braces herself. At Christmas time they had a donation tree and my daughter loved participating. Dr. Bo also donated braces to our school carnival fundraiser. Wow! This practice goes above and beyond and the community involvement makes us feel like family too. My daughter is 8 so this is phase one for her. Since she will most likely need phase 2 in the future once all of her permanent teeth come in, people commented to me, why would I get braces for her so early?? I trusted Dr. Bo's expert opinion and the explanation was thorough. This was not only cosmetic but a structural issue. If she continued to bite down on that permanent tooth that was pushed back, it would have eroded away. Plus she now tells me it bothered her to eat pre braces and she feels so much better. She says she won't mind going back for phase 2 at all. Wow! From an 8 1/2 year old. And to see my daughter's confidence post braces yesterday. I've been coming here for 4.5 months now for my orthodontic needs, and had nothing but good experience from the very beginning. The evaluation was free and fast, with clear pricing options and monthly payment breakdown. Orthodontic treatment for adults is not cheap, but check your dental insurance coverage. I was surprised to learn that mine covered a big portion. My treatment was estimated to take only 12 months, so I went with braces instead of more expensive Invisalign option. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, many of them have braces now or had them in adult years, so they know exactly what I'm going through. During my most recent visit Megan spent a lot of time answering all of my questions about the treatment and the techniques. I'm a curious person and I keep asking "What is this for?", "How long will this take?", "What's the next step?", etc. a lot. Nevertheless, she was very patient and happy to explain everything to me. Both doctors are great and thorough, although busy, they take time to get to know their patients and chat for a few minutes. They are very competent and run an extremely efficient operation with the best staff. I had originally started my orthodontic treatment in AZ and ended up moving to Goldsboro, NC due to my husband being in the Air Force. After searching for a great orthodontic office to continue and finish my treatment, I knew Bovenizer & Baker was going to be the best decision for my orthodontic treatment. Dr. Bo is the best! My daughter went to a different orthodontist in Raleigh before I found Dr. Bovenizer. Her teeth were not very crooked but she had a slight overbite. What should have taken a year to correct took 3 years and when she finally got them off, she had a crossbite and her upper teeth were squared off instead of rounded like a normal smile. I was upset beyond words. The told me it took so long because she was breaking her braces eating something, which I knew was not true. She never ate anything that would have caused that. She had the braces off for less than a year when she developed pain in her jaw. Then I found The Bovenizer. He explained that the reason she broke so many braces is because she should have had only one set of braces first to do minor corrections, then put the other set on. So it was the other orthodonist's incompetence that led to a 3 year ordeal and the expense of having braces twice. In about 18 months my daughter had perfect teeth, thanks to Dr. Bo. Not only is he an extremely skilled orthodontist, his is the sweetest, friendliest doctor you can imagine! He's so good with kids, it's unreal. His office is set up to be kid friendly and his staff is phenomenal. Best orthodontist in Wake County! Needless to say when it was my son's turn to get braces, we went back to Dr. Bo and he was done in no time. My son got the "best smile" award in middle school lol! I am very surprised that I am writing a bad review for Dr. Bovenizer. I was in agreement with all these reviews up until recently. We had a bad experience at his office back in July, but we did not post anything. We are once again having another issue with his office, and this time we are so aggravated that I want to let everyone know. We've been going to see Dr. Bovenizer for several years and he was great. Recently, it seems, ever since he moved to his new office, the quality of the service by the office staff and the follow up to issues by Dr. Bo himself has gone downhill. We recently took my daughter to see Dr. Bovenizer to have braces put on. Prior to having the braces put on, we provided our insurance information which was verified by Dr. Bovenizer's office and we were quoted a price that we would owe for the braces. The day my daughter was scheduled to have braces put on, we took her to his office, spoke with the person in the office, made our initial payment, and confirmed the amount we would owe. We were told that we would receive statements in the mail. We were all very happy with the experience. My daughter was excited. Later that same day, after the braces were put on, we received an email from Dr. Bovenizer's office that we would owe an additional amount of money and that the additional amount was already applied to the contract and our payments would now need to be adjusted to absorb this new amount. It makes the price we were quoted look more like a guess, than an estimate. The fact that we were informed about this after the braces were put on my daughter, did not sit well and is unprofessional. We spoke to Dr. Bovenizer personally about this and were told that he was aware of this situation, but it was not handled by his office the way he asked them to (Why is this?). He said that it was their mistake and miscommunication by his office staff, and that he would honor the original contract agreed upon, and that his office would follow up with us. We never heard back from anyone in the office nor did we receive any statements until we went in for my daughter's first checkup with the new braces. It was at this time that we were told there was a balance on our account and we were being charged a $25 late fee. We told them that we never received a statement. We paid the balance that afternoon, but Dr. Bovenizer refused to waive the $25 late fee, even though we were initially told that statements would be sent out. We now find out by the financial coordinator that they are not sending out statements as a way to cut costs. I feel that if they do not send out a bill, at least they should send out an email reminder, as every other company does. It seems that they are having issues. We used to be Dr. Bo fans, but are now very leery. It seems to be one thing after another since they moved to the new office. read more

His office in Cary is about 1 hr and 45 (one way) from my home but it is certainly worth the drive. Upon entering I am always greeted and usually engaged in a brief conversation.
