I'll absolutely admit it. I want to be beautiful. And although beauty is pain, I'd like to offset a bit of that pain by coming to a doctor's office where I can feel comfortable and at ease. Thankfully, I found Dr. Sabour. I was looking for a new place for my quarterly Botox and after a bit of research, Dr.Sabour seemed to fit perfectly with what I was looking for: calm, caring, and best of all, close to where I live. I arrived at 1pm on a Monday holiday and waited a short time before being greeted by the doctor. He took me to one of the patient rooms and asked which areas bothered me the most. I ended up getting 30 units for my 11's, bunny lines and orange peel chin (which I absolutely hate). I was seriously happy with what I got, but most of all, happy with Dr. Sabour himself. I met Dr. Sabour almost 10 days ago. I purposely held off writing this review because I wanted to see the results with my procedure. I could not be happier with the final results. To be honest, part of me would rather keep this man a secret but his talent should be appreciated and experienced by the world at large. I was on the hunt for a new Botox provider and after speaking with several Med Spa's I chose Resplendence Med Spa. When I called their office Dr. Sabour picked up the phone and was super nice, his cadence and confidence gave me the piece of mind others had not. The office still has a new car smell and is gorgeous. It's super clean and well maintained. I met a receptionist named Avery who couldn't be sweeter. His office provides an online client intake portal which eliminates filling out forms while in the waiting room surrounded by people. SWEET! Avery walked me to Dr. Sabours' office. He is a tall glass of water, extremely knowledgeable and posses a shining spirit. The doctor was professional and spent time answering all of my questions regarding possible procedures. Dr. Sabour has a skin analysis machine that looks like something created by NASA, it's amazing! In just a few minutes we were able to asses my skin and mutually decide on the best course to take in order to achieve my desired results. Personally, I prefer a conservative approach to cosmetic procedures and at no point did I feel up sold or pressured to do more than necessary---a practice all too common with other Med Spa's. I chose to go with Xeomine injections in lieu of Botox after the doctor explained the difference between the two products. BOY was he right! Every single time I have had Botox injections the liquid burned, I always bruised, bleed and spent the following 24 hours with noticeable bumps on my face. Not with Xeomine, not at all! This was by far my best Botox/Xeomine experience EVER! The procedure did not hurt at all! There was mild discomfort during the procedure but nothing like my prior torturous experiences. His technique and gentle touch made the procedure smooth and memorable. The guy is good with his hands...PERIOD. On my way out I chit-chatted with Avery and asked her about their selection of skincare products. She's super knowledgeable when it comes to their products and introduced me to a skincare line called KUL Glo. I tested the moisturizer and serum and my skin fell in love with both. The full spectrum moisture contains CBD, probiotics and micro-algae and their KUL serum is Heaven sent. These products gave my skin an instant and noticeable brightness along with a youthful glow. My friends have literally asked, "what did you do to you're skin and how can I get some"? I can not praise Dr Sabour and his office enough. I went to Resplendence Medspa to get my Xeomine injections. Dr Sabour has a very good technique for making the injections. My eyebrows lifted up a little bit and I got the perfect look of my face. Also I really like the Imagepro device which scans your face and gives you a detailed report about your face condition including pores, capillaries, moisturize level and more. He listened to what my concerns were, and without any kind of pressure he described, in detail, what my options are. My first visit, I had Botox around my eyes and on my forehead. He did an amazing job and used less units than any other time I had Botox and with better results. He asked me to come back in two weeks to make sure I was satisfied, which I was. I recently had The Tetra CO2 Laser at Resplendence Med Spa and the whole experience was smooth and delightful. Dr. Sabour, MD is not only a perfectionist at what he does with treatment but he is also a gentle and honest physician who is passionate about his work and is apparent upon meeting him and only confirmed whilst having the procedure. His bedside manner is polite, caring and treats the patient with great empathy. One does not feel like the typical conveyer belt approach like most cosmetic doctors. The Resplendence staff is alert and hospitable and took great care and time with me. I had post procedure questions that were addressed immediately after I returned home. BEWARE: This place should be written up by the medical board and put out of business. The 5 star yelp reviews must be paid for. I had scheduled a 60 minute facial off Groupon and was scheduled with Rita - the experience was unprofessional at best; medically negligent at worse. I was given no forms to fill out regarding allergies or medical history. I immediately asked her to please put on a mask since I am immune compromised. Barely looking at me, she suggested microneedling "because the results last longer than a regular facial." I had absolutely no idea what that was. She said it was a more intense form of microderm. I told her I have very sensitive skin. She said only that I would look like I had a sunburn for a couple days and that this procedure was good for sensitive skin. (I later learned this procedure is CONTRAINDICATED for sensitive skin). I asked if I should stay out of the sun and she said yes - weird that I had to ask this myself. Throughout this time, Rita kept trying to sell me her personal skincare products. The doctor came in and looked at my face - I told them both I had very sensitive skin, was immune compromised, and suffered from Rosacea. He recommended microneedling, too. I told them topical products usually burn my face because my skin is sensitive so I can't treat the rosacea. The doctor said microneedling was a good option for sensitive skin and rosacea. I WAS GIVEN ZERO INFORMATION ON AFTERCARE PROCEDURES OR POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS AND WAS HANDED NO FORMS TO SIGN CONSENTING TO THIS. This was framed as a kind of facial that was just a more intense form of microderm. No one cleaned my face beforehand. Rita began putting lidocaine on my face which made me concerned - what IS this treatment? I stopped and had her explain in more detail what exactly she was doing. After the procedure, Rita put a clay mask on my face and then while she was removing it, had me get up and stand over the sink where she grabbed literal Neutrogena wipes, wet them with water, and sloppily removed the mask over the sink as I got drenched. Then she just tossed the dirty wipes in the sink. On the counter nearby were my used needles just wrapped in tissues. She told me to take her number and she'd make me a special mask for my face that I can pick up from her apartment. Wtf? I went to put my covid mask back on and she told me, "please don't." Because of irritation and bacteria. I nearly had a heart attack. I asked for how long and received no answer. How did no one mention this when I told them I was immune compromised? I went to check out and the doctor couldn't figure out how to work the computer and "accidentally" charged me twice. Something I only saw when I checked my bank statement right then and there, finding it odd that he said he pressed cancel when I clearly saw the screen read, "approved." I was refunded in cash. Later, I read on the internet COPIOUS instructions regarding aftercare for this procedure which were NEVER told to me. Feeling ill-equipped, I broke down and texted Rita for further aftercare instructions. This treatment that was casually given to me was a medical procedure with crucial aftercare to prevent infection! She said she was going to make me a moisturizing mask and to come get it. Seems odd that a professional is handing out product from their residence but I had no idea what else to do. When I got there, I was handed a concoction in a water glass with saran wrap on it "made from avocado and cucumber." When I got home, I applied the mask to my face. It BURNED like CRAZY. I texted that something was wrong and she called to say that it's supposed to burn and I'm not the first one who has had to endure this. [SIDENOTE: NO. Other professionals confirmed it is absolutely not and you shouldn't aggravate your skin for 24 hours.] I washed it off after 15 minutes and my face was bright red. The next day, I called a dermatologist to find out when I could wear my covid mask and was told a few days because my face has to heal since I have sensitive skin. NONE of this information was given to me and I now had to take a week off work! I NEVER would have had this done had I known. Rita called me that morning (why was she calling me?) and I told her that I now had white splotchy discoloration which looked like hypopigmentation from burns! She pretended to not know what that was (A WELL KNOWN COMPLICATION OF MICRONEEDLING). She told me she'd give me a moisturizer and got defensive when I asked her to tell me the ingredients. Apparently she put an ointment "from Greece" in both this and the avocado face mask - and that ointment contained Vitamin A which can DAMAGE AND IRRITATE SKIN AFTER MICRONEEDLING. This was why my face was literally throbbing and now has white, splotchy, discolored patches which will not go away. I did some digging on the internet and Rita Aleksanyan was arrested and spent 6 days in jail for literal fraud. RUN. I am disgusted by every aspect of this so-called "business." read more
