Update: I did an embark DNA test and it shows OUTSTANDING breeding and health characteristics. It's not always easy to find what you are actually told and advertised but in this case it was! Posting his official breed certificate. Again, it shows they deal with reputable and honest breeders. Exactly 50% Cavalier and 50% poodle in DNA blood line. This dog did not come from a puppy mill. It takes expertise and knowledge to breed to this caliber. DNA is everything when it comes to genetic personality expectations, traits and overall intelligence and or personality characteristics of the dog. After my beloved Sparky passed away I decided to adopt a new puppy. I took a ride out to Bow Wow and was greeted very warmly with care and respect. After talking with Maryanne, she got an idea of what I was looking for. she picked out a male Cavapoo for me. My total experience was very nice, informative and left with my new puppy Charlie. My husband and I wanted a cavapoo puppy but we were too late to the COVID puppy buying phase. We reached out to so many breeders who told us they would put us on a 9 month - 2 year waiting list which made me even sadder during COVID. I reached out to Jeff as my sisters friend had picked up a cavapoo puppy from Bow Wow a few months before that. At the time when I reached out he was out of puppies and I asked if he would put us on a waiting list. I thought to myself...another list. Three weeks later Jeff reached out saying he has a few extra puppies he didn't plan on getting and asked if we were still interested. I immediately put a deposit down but based on a lot of people's feedback to avoid purchasing a puppy from a store because of all the unknowns I was nervous to be excited. Jeff answered the long list of questions I had and he was extremely patient and informative. We picked up Callie a few days later and she was even more precious in person than in the photo Jeff sent. We were met by MaryAnne who made us feel so calm based on how nervous we were. She explained step by step what we needed to do from her sleeping set up to her eating habits. She wrote things down and outlined next steps for vaccines and said if Callie was sick within the first 2-3 weeks to bring her to 1 of 3 vets in their network and they would pay the medical bills. We brought her for her first check up and Bow Wow covered most of the cost. She had an ear infection from the flight (she came from a breeder in Arkansas) so she needed ear drops. Outside of that Callie was completely healthy. She was basically potty trained in the beginning which we were amazed by. She had no parasites or stomach issues which I felt so lucky based on the horror stories I heard from my friends and their puppy store purchases. A week or so later MaryAnne reached out just to check on us and Callie and see how things were going. I asked her more questions and she gave me more advice. I was so appreciative she called. The first few weeks were so overwhelming so we were desperate for any advice. Very long story short I would highly recommend this store. Customer Service goes a long way. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case here. I have been on the hunt for an adorable Maltipoo puppy and was super excited when I came across Bow Wow Babie's site. There was a puppy available and I immediately called for more information. I was quoted mid $3k and was told that he would be in store the next day to visit. I wasn't sure if appointments were needed, so I decided to text and was told that it wasn't necessary. Stephanie was actually super nice through text and even offered to provide puppy pics. I was starting to think I was going to have an amazing puppy buying experience. Before heading there, I called first to make sure the puppy was in the store. Now my experience started to change once I got there. I spoke to a lady by the cashier and asked her to see the maltipoo puppy. She then asked a few questions. She didn't seem as welcoming and asked me if I was even appraised. I told her I was quoted a range over the phone. I'm okay with pet stores asking questions because they want to weed out non-serious buyers but I'm a strong believer in 'It's Not What You Say--It's How You Say It.' The customer service declined from that point on. I decided to let it go because the puppy was my main priority. She proceeded to show me the puppy and gave us a few minutes to be with him. She then got back and I told her that I was quoted mid $3k but wanted to know the exact price. I was told $6k. I was a bit confused because I had initially visited based on the quote from the call. If this is the price they wanted to charge, fine by me, Maltipoos are popular and that is their choice as a business but I was upset that I was told one thing over the phone and then in person, the price doubled. After the visit, I emailed the business to find out the reason behind the change but didn't receive any response back. I also texted and didn't receive a callback. I made the mistake of going to this place when I was itching for a puppy. I called them and asked them if they had mini goldendoodles and she said yes and I told her that I had my eye on one through another organization and she said no they are puppy mill puppies ours come from reputable breeders. The unfortunate thing is their policy is if you purchase a puppy from them you have to use the West Hills animal Hospital, which is right next-door to them you pay for the stool test to be done but if there's any issues they pay for the medication. I was OK with it in the beginning but when it is 30 minutes from where I live and my puppy comes back positive for Giardia and I have to go back out there to pick up the medication for free .For me it wasn't worth it for the hour that I spent traveling and then the 20 minutes and I had to stand there and wait for them to finally take care of me. I had to do this at least 3 times. I opted to start going to my vet which is up the road. But unfortunately, eight months later my puppy still has Giardia they're saying that it's a rare strain and now they will not board him because of it being so highly contagious. If you ever want to get a purebred puppy go directly to a breeder, to their home, do you research I did that with my older dog and he has nowhere near any of the issues that this puppy has I have half of mind to bring him back there and let them keep him while I'm away on my vacation, but that would not be fair to all the other puppies that are sitting in the tanks and pens. They really need to change their policy and allow you to go to your vet and they still pay for the medication's when you wind up with a puppy that has issues. read more

We visited Bow Wow Babies twice before going home with our gorgeous baby girl. Adopting from a puppy-mill free store was very important to us, and we did a lot of research before settling on Bow Wow. In between visits, we went to a number of other pet stores in Manhattan and in Huntington, but none were as good to their puppies, as clean, or as friendly, so we were compelled to return. They say that puppies choose their owners and our little Goldendoodle certainly chose us, but not before we had spent a decent amount of time meeting the other little fellas in the room. It wasn't just the puppy we had a good feeling about. It was the way the staff treated us and the puppies. The first time we met Lisa, we knew we liked her a lot. She is patient and funny, and knows basically everything about puppies and dogs. We asked a lot of questions, and got a lot of answers. I think we spent all up about 3.5 hours in there, which just flew by. I have read some reviews here from people who were upset that they couldn't go straight to the puppies and start touching. But we really appreciated that we were made to sanitize our hands each time before handling the different dogs -- for their health, not ours! They are real beings with fragile immune systems, not toys (even though most of them are as cute as teddy bears). Now for the happy ending: we just took our girl to the vet for her first check-up and she is perfectly healthy and happy. We're completely in love and would come back and adopt a sister or brother for our pup in a heartbeat (some day later down the line -- don't get too excited Lisa!). The people here LOVE dogs and they revel in finding dogs their forever homes. They treat the animals with love and kindness, and they keep the pens and shop clean and as sanitary as possible. No, you cant touch all the dogs, but don't take this personally. It's not about YOU it's about the dozens and dozens of people that walk in there with filthy hands and want to touch everything, or they want to pet every dog and not sanitize their hands in-between. It may feel like an impediment to your selection process and overwhelming desire to play with adorable pups, but you will thank them when you get a healthy puppy to take home. I got my puppy Leia here and Jeff and his staff could not have been more helpful and kind. Candidly, I would say the staff loves dogs more than people, so expect they will prioritize making sure their puppies and your dog are healthy and well cared for first and foremost. Be happy there is a staff that cares that much. I've seen some shitty pet stores around with dirty pens and matted dogs, this is not that place. I've also been witness to some horrible potential customers, and if you are going to treat humans with disdain, why would any staff member feel comfortable entrusting you with one of their puppies? First of all my family checked out virtually every puppy place on LI, including some that were guaranteed to be puppy mill factories. Believe me, go into enough puppy palaces and you can tell the difference. Still we had not found the right dog; the dog that appealed and connected with everyone in our family. Over the two years, we re-visited BWB more than a half a dozen times, and not ONCE were we pressured to make a decision. The staff answered every question, were never rude, and obviously loved dogs and wanted us to get the dog that we were happy with. When we finally found Pixie it was a no-brainer. Was BWB the cheapest? No, but the dog we chose was healthy, happy, and had parents that other customers that had purchased dogs from the same group and were very happy. In fact we almost lost Pixie to another family that wanted another puppy from the same parents. We have had Pixie for two years now. She is a remarkable dog and we love her to death. My wife and I as well as my brother and sister-in-law went to the store last weekend to look at puppies and the first thing we noticed when we walked in was how nice all the merchandise was. When we walked into the back room where the puppies are we were greeted by Mark who was very nice. He asked us what kind of puppy we were interested in. We were interested in the French Bulldogs, which also happen to be among the most expensive dogs. He could have easily tried to make a really big sale but instead wanted to know more about our situation. When he found out my wife was expecting he said a non-shedding dog may be better for us because the baby may have allergies to a dog that sheds. He really cared both about our needs and the well being of the puppies. When we looked at the other pups we really like the shih-poos, especially a little brown one with a black face. When we were interested Mark asked us if we wanted to pet them which of course we did. Mark patiently answered all of our questions and provided all the info about the pup and his background. I see some posts where people get mad because everyone isn't allowed to pet the puppies which is just ridiculous. This place is not a petting zoo, it is filled with baby animals and the owners don't want a million hands in the pen getting the puppies sick. It is for the well being of the puppies, not because they are mean!! When we played with the puppies we liked the little brown one even more. We weren't 100% sure however if we were ready to take a puppy home or if it would be too much too have a puppy and a new baby in a few months. Mark said he would give us step by step instructions on how to train the pup but he did not try to push a sale at all. We left that day without a puppy but were really impressed by the experience. After talking about it and sleeping on it we decided to go back the next day and play with that one puppy some more. After playing with him one on one we fell in love and decided to take him home. Just like he said, Mark gave us step by step instructions, taking over an hour in the process, helped set us up with all the essentials for a new pup and was just really nice the whole time. As far as the price of everything, the dog was a very good price for the breed of dog and while the stuff in the store is not cheap, it is high quality and you get what you pay for. We have had Chewbacca in the house for about a week now and he is already a great addition to the family. He is already doing really well with his potty training because of what they do in the store to help that. He is adjusting great and is very healthy. We have called the store 2 or 3 times to ask questions and Jeff and Lisa were very patient and informative. As part of buying a puppy there much of the health care is included at the animal hospital right down the road which is also a nice perk. We had a really great experience and if we are ever looking for a brother or sister for Chewy we would definitely come back here. read more

Well, have no idea what "red flags" they were taking about, but we have seen real RED FlAGS regarding this store. Interested people may read the reply made by my wife Melody and one can draw his or her own conclusion. We are really tired of this whole situation and we have learnt the lesson. In the end, Melody and I both believe that finding a breeder instead of a pet store is a safer choice. Maybe a better choice is to adopt a dog from a shelter. Had the intention of leaving with a puppy today and that all went downhill the moment we went in. I was there today wit my 2 kids with the intention of buying a shihpoo or mini Goldendoodle. We walked in and headed straight to the nursery. Kids were excited and we saw signs not to touch the puppies which we didn't. There was a lady with dark hair behind the counter and didn't acknowledge us. She was on the phone which I gave her the benefit of the doubt. After she got off the phone still no acknowledgement of any kind. There was another lady white chin length blond hair that asked if we needed help. And when we said we were interested the mini Goldendoodle that was in the back, she told us that she wanted to introduce us to a little older but sweet one. The lady with the dark hair told her that she couldn't bring the puppy out from the back and so we followed her while she gave us some history of the almost 4 month old with her "best" price. We still asked about the original mini doodle and though she didn't know his temperament, she was going to take it out to see and have us get to know him. This all came to a halt when the lady with the dark hair told her that she couldn't let me touch it unless I was planning to leave with it. Immediately all thoughts of making a purchase here ceased. I couldn't believe what I heard. I thanked the lady for her help and as she approached the dark haired lady she proceeded to ask her what my intentions were and if wasn't to buy one then me and my kids couldn't pet the puppy. Well we left there with 2 heartbroken kids who thought they were leaving with a puppy. This is actually funny. We can post all the emails and texts between us and see what kind of people they are. There are "red flags not selling us the puppy"?? From the first email and I got from you you were trying to sell me the puppy. We were paranoid because unexpected things kept happening BEFORE we purchased the dog. You guys can read my previous reviews. Or you can reach out directly to me I can send you all the texts (posted two here :)). We indeed did not reach out to the store when the puppy was sick. We were busy taking him to the vet and ER at 2am in the morning. Anyone wanna see the proof of that? Plus, who would call the pet store when your puppy is sick, rather than going to the vet and ask for help? We wouldn't and couldn't drive to the store which is located 170 miles away to return the puppy as well because he was very sick at that moment. Had we only cared about getting the money back we could have just driven there with the weak and tired pup with us, but we would never do that. We sincerely hope he gets better soon in the future. The pet store owner was trying to ask us the name of the shelter and pick him up! Then what? Re-sell the puppy? Haha. Also, your dear staff called me TWICE in total, to tell me about the puppy at first, then the second time to talk about raising the pup. Then you called me once to schedule the appointment with you. I NEVER MADE ONE CALL. I texted to ask when the puppy will be ready because a) I reserved for him and b). I have the right to ask when should plan for the long trip. BUT DEFINITELY NOT EVERY DAY. It's not like we don't have our jobs and other things to do. Oops, Guess whose pants are fire now?? The purpose of having an animal shelter is for the animals to be saved and treated by more professional and suitable vets and people. We have the anticipation of and the ability to cover the cost of the puppy and his legitimate medical costs, but who will be willing to watch your dogs suffer and start to taking him to ER and vet endlessly from the very beginning of the journey? You said you "get" our situation two days ago and now basically saying we don't deserve to have a puppy? Since when did "getting a not-the-worst-quality product (I am sorry puppy)" become the new standard for making customers satisfied? Also, stop leaking mine and other customers personal information (phones, emails etc.) to other places. One shelter has already contacted me saying they found someone from the store was trying to pick up the dog and apparently gave them my number. Cyber security is not too hard to educate yourself. Keep things legal is the bottom line. We adopted our first mini golden doodle from MA in February. That was another unpleasant but interesting experience. People who bother to care and want to know more can ask us about that story as well. Up to this point we have nothing to lose. We NEVER asked for refunds. We are not asking for it but need to speak up for ourselves, for the puppy and for other potential buyers who are in doubts. Yeah you are right , guts feelings can be right.
