Every time we've brought our dog here (toy poodle), he has always had a great looking cut AND does not have any cuts on him (even with close shaves to his private regions). At other places - We've brought him to other places in the past where the groomers have shaved too close and our dog had visible razor burns/nicks on him. For a week while he healed, he would always be weary, lethargic, etc. Not here! He's always had a great cut, safe haircut and never had signs of injury. I've been here before, but something has clearly changed. I brought my senior long-haired cat in for a full groom and was only told at the appointment that they don't bathe cats--something that was never communicated beforehand. This is a service I've received in the past since we've been here for the past several years without issues . The groomer after I said he's good agreed to bathe him . When we got home, I noticed the groom was uneven. He usually gets a lion cut, but his tail was left fully furred with no explanation. Be extremely careful where you take your pet. Cat Diggity Dog Salon is NOT the same as it once was. Only look at reviews of the last several months. The 5 star ratings were from a different fantastic group of groomers who are no longer there. The current team had my dog for 5+ hours and she was traumatized by the experience. We went to pick up our cat at CDD Hicksville on 11/4/23 and found that he did not have a bubble bath that was agreed to nor did he have a proper trim done of his fur clean up his lion cut that was done at CDD3 1/2 months ago. We questioned why he was done so perfectly the 1st we brought him in, with him getting a lion cut from his full grown hair, he is a long hair Tabby- and a shampoo, conditioner and all was done as well. Yet, at this occasion he only was given a dry shampoo and a very incomplete and uneven trim. We did note after the 1st visit when we picked him up he was sleepy, slow to react, instead and by 11pm he was still unable to jump on the couch where he normally stays. We mentioned this to the owner and her answer was that he was exhausted from his spa day. We decided not to make a big deal At this time he was completely alert and his usually self. Since at this time he didn't look anything different from when we brought him in we asked why she said that in the 3 1/2 months his behavior had changed - However, his behavior has been exactly as it was both at home and at his last vet's appointment 2 days before this grooming and he was completely cooperative. Morgan is a 16 y-o cat with no front claws and according to the CDD owner was cooperative at the 1st visit but not at this visit, the owner stated Morgan wasn't a happy cat. He was returned to us with a spot on his rt front leg that has no fur and down to his skin. The fur on the back of his head and neck has been sheared off. See included photos. This is a review I was paid by the owner to remove: (Owner made me delete my review or she wasn't paying my dogs medical bills when he was cut in her salon) PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!! Unless u want them mutilated. I brought my fur baby here one time because I saw it had good reviews. When I picked him up the groomer showed him to me and said he got nipped him on his back legs. Not just one of them BOTH. When she showed him to me it didn't look bad I barely saw anything on his legs (I'm guessing she put medicine on to stop the bleeding). I brought him home, 30 min later he already had BLOOD ALL OVER HIS LEGS, he got blood on my couch which is now going to cost me 100's of dollars to clean. I can physically see he is in pain, he wasn't acting like his usual self when he was home. Bringing him to a groomer now will never be the same, Staff was nice and friendly but this service is just unacceptable especially having to pay for it. The worst part is I can't even tell my pooch how sorry I am for bringing him there. I feel the need to repost this after checking their yelp and noticing other dogs still facing the same type of cuts/abuse in their salon. My dog needed immediate medical attention but that wasn't given to him in their salon. He needed surgical glue for his wounds and faced an infection that made him so sick I watched him fight for his life. It's been about a year since this incident happened and he still has scars on his legs and is still afraid of every groomer. I'm deeply hurt now, especially with myself because since I was made to deleted my review another animal has experienced this pain and that just kills me. I hope at least one new customer reads this and reconsiders bring their fur baby there - you could save their life! The owner already paid for the abuse they caused my dog. I brought my 5 year old female Cocker Spaniel in for "the works" on 6/20/18. Due to illness, injury and long hospitalization, my poor Penny was very behind in her grooming. Honestly, she looked like a Wookie! The lovely folks at Cat Diggity Dog took her in, with nary a side glance about her messy, matted condition, and turned her back into the beautiful princess she is! What lovely people, so kind and helpful! Penny loved everyone! They did such a great job on her and for a most reasonable price and in a super timely manner! She was there about 2 hours. I called this office to ask why my moms dog (who is disabled and does not speak English) has been lethargic, barely eating and painful ear since leaving the groomer. I spoke to SHELBY, who is the MANAGER, and asked if they were any issues with the grooming. She said the dog was heavily matted and might be sore and who picked of the dog was made aware. She then spoke to the person who groomed the dog and confirmed that an infection was seen after cutting out hair from the ear. My stepdad who picked up the dog was never made aware. I told Shelby her groomer was negligent in mentioning that to my stepdad and she became very defensive and was speaking over me when I tried to talk. When clearly Shelby initially said, after reviewing the chart that soreness was mentioned to my stepdad. Very obvious if not written in the chart, that an infection was seen and owner made aware. I dropped my 10 month old Persian kitten and 3 year old mini bernadoodle at this grooming salon at 9:30am. I explained to them that I wanted my dog trimmed and my cat bathed and trimmed by her rear area. This was verbalized and agreed. At 12:00, I still hadn't heard from the salon, so I called and then said, "sorry- they've been done for a while- you can come now." I drove 25 minutes there to be told "your cat is not done yet." When I saw my dog- I didn't even recognize her! She went from cute bernadoodle to completely shaved different-looking breed! My dog actually ran and knocked over their gate because she couldn't wait to leave there. My beautiful, long-haired Persian cat was completely shaved to the core! They left her tail and the bottom of her paws! She looks like she belongs in a circus and is now petrified of everyone who sees her!! My family and I are beyond upset about how she looks now but it's hair- and it'll grow back. I realized her collar was left there so I called this morning to politely tell them I'll be there to pick it up. They insisted the collar was not on my cat when I got there which is absurd bc it never comes off of her! It was not on her when she left that groomer. Fine...It's a collar and I can buy another. Shelby, who is apparently the owner/cat groomer, apologized to me and said she would refund me for the grooming and collar but did ask me if the collar had "sentimental value" to me while laughing and giving me an attitude. I had tipped each of the two groomers $20 each before even seeing my pets (my bad!) and paid almost $200 for them to look ridiculous!!! Shelby also admitted to not looking at my cat's card first to see what services were to be done to her. Shelby became loud, defensive and rude to me after apologizing and stating I'd get a refund. When I said I was coming to pick it up- she said "I'm calling the cops if you come near here!" I do Not know who this woman is but she is completely unprofessional, and if she is an owner- she shouldn't be! And she certainly should NOT be grooming Persian cats!! These pics say it all! I had a situation before where the owner Shelby trimmed my dogs hair to a bare when I strictly mentioned I keep his hair a bit fluffy. She claims he was matted so I mentioned and have it in writing please shelby if you feel you can not dematt him let me know next time I will take my time with the proper tools and make sure it is taken care of rather then trimming all his hair off. When I dropped him off again and mentioned please keep his hair long she did the same exact thing and texts me after it's done then she trimmed his hair short.she just wants to take the easy way out rather then spending the time to do it properly. She has no right to make that decision herself. Especially when she was specifically told not to and made that mistake before. I have my wedding coming up and now my cute fluffy dog is almost bare skin due to her not listening to directions and not consulting me as requested. Never shall I go to this place again and will advise everyone to stay away. And when I was picking my dog up and told her what she did was wrong she then threatened to call the police. What an absolute joke of a place. On top of that I had her husband Dean call me on my phone and threaten me. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE EVER. If I could give this place less then 1 star, I would. They kept my dog for more then 3 hours and on top of that they didn't even clean my dogs eyes. They stated my dog wasn't cooperating hence why they had to keep him for so long. When my mother went inside to pick him up she didn't realize his eyes weren't cleaned but when we sat in the car we checked and brought him back to inform them regarding this. I had high expectations because every review on yelp is 5 stars. Their website says they accept walk-ins and close at 6PM. Last week, I walked in a little after 4pm and was told the groomers had left already. This week, I called ahead and was told to come in ASAP. Perfect. I walked in and asked for the 'Pampered Pooch' and the lady told me that this was Cat Diggity Dog, not Pampered Pooch. Pampered Pooch is a service they offer, per their website, and I assume she wasn't new because she knew the price, and the man at the front desk also asked her how much the total was at the end. I asked to stay and watch and she said it was better that I don't because dogs act out when they see their owners, and if I did they would close the door anyway. Understandable, So I handed her my dog and went to wait in my car. I also called back maybe 2 minutes later to say that I did not want my dogs anal glands expressed and was told that he would tell the groomer, but then they ended up doing it and charging me for it anyways. I got a text only 15 MINUTES later that my dog was about ready for pick up, which seemed very quick. If 'pampered pooch' was that fast I can only imagine how quick the 'express style' is. The first thing I check is his nails, they looked cut and felt rounded, but they missed the little nails on both front paws. She fixed that immediately as I was held him. When my baby shook his body out in the car, I had hair all over my entire sweater, and he is a hypoallergenic non-shedding dog. I guess I expected them to blow the stray hair off his body after his haircut, but it wasn't a big deal. When I got home I saw that he still had tangled spots on his paws. Pampered pooch specifically advertises that they will 'remove tangles and mats, give a soothing bath and make your dog look like a superstar'. His hair was also cut unevenly and had patches of long hair sticking out in random spots. I had to trim it again myself. This is what made me most upset.. For a service I paid over $70 for, I expected much more, not a job that I could've done better myself at home. His hair was left a little longer so I understand that the lengths would differ, however when I put the hair between my fingers, it's almost an inch longer than the rest, which is a big difference. 1 star for giving first time customers $10 off because I don't even think $70 was worth it, much less $80. My dog also didn't seem traumatized coming out, and his paws were trimmed nicely. Edit: no this is not a false review. My dogs name is teddy, he is a grey and white shih-Tzu Yorkie mix, and he was seen on Saturday, October 13, 2018. I'm sure you can check your computer for that information, the groomer wrote the information down on an index card and then the man at the front desk also input it into the computer. LOL I am not a groomer, I say I fixed it myself because it looked that terrible and uneven. You were closed for the next 2 days (Sunday and Monday) and I live 30 minutes away so it is not even worth it to come back on a weekday. Wanted to give this salon a second shot .... Unfortunately, we will not be returning customers due to the lack of detail the groomers took to grooming our dogs. Our male pup's tail and ears were not combed which left me to do it when he got home from the groomer. He was full of knots (I ended up cutting the knots out myself), his right front paw nails were not cut or trimmed but the other paws were, hair was not plucked out of his ear, his stomach area was not trimmed down . I just felt he wasn't taken care of by professionals or someone that cares what their work looks like when they are done. My suggestion, if you do end up taking your dog here, please do a thorough once over before you pay and leave the salon.... Tip to the groomers, please just have a more detail look when grooming the dogs, we bring our dogs to you expecting them to come back beautiful, clean and happy. read more

Mary, the owner is amazing and accommodating (she watched my dog for an additional 2 hours as I was getting my hair done) with no complaints. The groomer did a fabulous job on my yorkie. Very fast service, very thorough, very clean establishment, fair prices (even got $10 off my first visit), and most importantly they took special care of my adult dog. They have earned my trust which is not an easy thing for me as I don't trust anyone with my dog. I highly recommend this groomer. I will ONLY take my dog here!!!!!!!!!! I've tried several groomers in the area. Thankfully I've never had any major issues, but that doesn't mean I was a big fan either. My main issues were long waits (the main one I go to usually takes six hours, even when Rusty is the first dog in the office) and them booking many appointments at the same time, and thus putting Rusty with several other dogs when he's not getting groomed. To be fair, that works for plenty of people, but I'm not comfortable with it. I've also gone to places that were way more expensive. Ultimately, after trying about five places and not being enamored with any of them, I tried this one based on the ratings. I'm happy I did. It was excellent. Convenient, clean, very nice owner/groomer, fair price, just overall excellent. This is the first one in a while that I wasn't uncomfortable leaving Rusty with and he was very happy when we left. Since he's fairly terrified of groomers, and I'm miserable when this happens, this place provided me with great relief which can't be understated. I'd highly recommend Cat Diggity Dog. read more
