For the last several years, I've experienced progressive upper shoulder/neck pain that traveled from the right to left shoulder. If I could describe it, it felt like I needed someone with a spoon to scoop out all the contents out from under my scapula! I have been going to Jane for many years. Recently I have been diagnosed with macular degeneration in my eyes. I have had her treating my eyes. After 6 treatments, I had an eye appointment. One the eye doctor could find any problems with my right eye and my left eye only had a little m d. Here I come with another review and this is for "Bowen Works for Healing" As some of you know my lower back lumbar is shot. In other words my last 4 bottom discs are herniated. 2-3 weeks ago I couldn't even sit. So I had to lay down or walk. This was a chain reaction from January when I busted my L5-S1 disc. I was in bed for two weeks with 8-9 constant pain and refusing to take meds. "I hate medication" So I started healing slowly, slowly naturally with Turmeric & Black Pepper, CBD Oil & lite exercises. As soon as I got better I went back to work and was OK for 2-3 months. Guess what I relapsed and the paint went up to L4-L3, L3-L2. My back started to pull constantly to left or right and the pain was unbearable at times. A friend recommended Bowen Therapy. I didn't want to try at first but she said "Emmanuel give it a try" you got nothing to lose and it's not invasive like chiropractic therapy. I did a little research on Yelp and "Bowen Works for Healing" came up in my search. Emailed Mrs. Jane and she got right back to me within 1-2 hrs (awesome service there). She got me in same day and my pain was 6-7 with my spine still pulling to one side. I booked first session 2 weeks ago and after the first therapy she mentioned that my back will be sore for about 2-5 days. She was spot on! After the 4th day I saw a huge improvement and my back adjusted itself. My pain from 6-7 was 4-5. 2nd session was last week and again my back was sore for 2-5 days but on 5th day got even better. Pain from 4-5 went down to 2-3. Forward to today which was my last session she adjusted me again and also worked on my sciatica. I felt a relief within 2-4 min. I advise people out there with back issues to try physical therapy, Bowen therapy, stretches, natural remedies etc. Be careful with chiropractors! Some can make things worse. I don't know what makes this therapy special but it works! I've had something stuck in my throat sensation, neck and shoulder tightness and my medical doctor diagnosed me for anxiety due to loss of my late husband. I did physical therapy, acupuncture, working out, massage therapy, counseling etc but nothing really solve my problem except Bowen Theraphy! I've tried a number of different things to try and get this pain in my neck (at C5 C6) taken care of, no pun intended. I went to Jane and she helped with the pain. I'm not 100% sure how Bowen works, but after putting my trust in Jane and going for several appointments I saw a definite Improvement. Jane is awesome! I was told about Bowen a few years ago & never did it because I had tried a lot of things (massage, chiropractor, yoga etc) that seemed to have temporary fixes. I even wore a back brace as a teen. I'm 33 now so I am use to the daily back aches. Last year I decided to try Bowen for my scoliosis. When I met Jane and told her I had anxiety as well, she incorporated those points into the therapy. First, my back feels sooooo much better overall. I have almost no back pain. I get sore when it is time to come in for a tune up. Second, my daily anxiety is pretty much gone. And it's way more tolerable if I do experience it. I'm so glad I tried this! I am so glad I found Jane at BowenWorks for Healing. I went looking for help on my back/shoulder spasms coupled with upper arm pain and poor mobility in my neck/shoulder. I filled out the form which asks you to check off about 50 possible ailments that might apply to you. So I checked off a bunch of things that I've been dealing with for months and had come to accept as part of my life: jaw pain, sciatica, lower back pain, mid back pain etc. (Wow, I thought - I'm too young for all these ailments!!). Anyway, I went for the 3 treatments and found them very relaxing. Jane has a beautiful, calming, and comfortable setting for her therapy. I felt like I was at a spa so that alone felt good! I was focused on my immediate problems that I went for, and at my 3rd visit, Jane asked how my jaw was feeling. Jaw? What jaw problem? I have suffered from tailbone pain for over 8 years. I have seen doctors, physical therapists and even a spine surgeon. I was never able to get any relief for my tailbone pain. X-rays always came back negative and finally I got a diagnosis that it wasn't my tailbone at all, but my pelvic floor had dropped and all of my pelvic muscles were in a frozen state and pulling my tailbone over to the side 90 degrees. I tried physical therapy for about 9 months and my problems were getting worse over time. My L1 to L5 was "caving" in from my spine being pulled over. I had a grapefruit size "hole" in my lower back. My back pain was aweful. Hurt to stand. Hurt to sit. Hurt to do anything except lay down. Then my L1 and L2 began to pinch a nerve and my left leg went numb several times a day and a stabbing pain started happening. I was getting worse and didn't know where to turn. A friend of mine (she is now what I consider my guardian angel) suggested Bowen Therapy to me and said I should give it a try. My friend had body problems of her own and she said Bowen helped her. At this point, nothing could hurt to try. I've tried everything out. I went in to my first Bowen appointment with Jane with a positive attitude and feeling full of hope.
