At my most recent visit, I checked in as usual and was then called back to the front desk and told-- for the first time--that they now require a credit or debit card to be kept on file. I was not informed of this policy in advance when scheduling my appointment. I explained that I do not have a card on file, but I was fully prepared to pay my copay at the time of the visit, as I always have. Despite that, I was refused care. What was most concerning was not just the policy itself, but how it was handled: - No prior notice of the change - Being told only after check-in - No accommodation offered, even for a long-time patient in good standing I later confirmed this is a corporate policy and no exceptions are made. Patients should be aware that even if you are willing and able to pay at the time of service, you may be denied care if you do not provide a card on file. I recommend asking about this policy before scheduling. and have always paid my copays and any out-of-pocket costs at the time of service. To be honest, I was a little apprehensive walking up to the door. Looks more like someone's residence than a business, but it's downtown, so I suppose that's kind of normal. My fears were quickly alleviated as I walked inside and it looked like a quaint little doctor's office. Was immediately roomed and seen by the physician more quickly than I can recall being seen by anyone, despite him apologizing for his tardiness. Dr. Kasch appears to be very kind and genuinely cares about his patients and their outcomes. Explained everything he was doing, why he was doing it and the reasons that previous treatments have failed. Price for service was extremely reasonable. I'm not able to use my insurance, but I honestly don't care. I've been dealing with this issue and multiple failed attempts for about 6 years now, so results are the only thing that really matter and he is making that happen. On top of all that, he sent me a text to check on me the next day (a Saturday mind you) to make sure that things were progressing as expected. Where have you been all my life? What phenomenal service!! I can 't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Kasch! The world we know would be a very different place if all physicians functioned at this level!!

We went over what I'd been taking, what had changed, and what made sense from there. I also liked that the office had a fairly quiet, organized feel rather than the usual rushed doctor's-office chaos.

During my appointment, I asked for her opinion about CO2 laser skin resurfacing. I had applied a sunless tanning product before the visit. She advised that, because of what she believed was my darker skin tone, I could be at higher risk for hyperpigmentation. I explained that I am naturally fair-skinned and that the color she was seeing was from a temporary sunless tanner (washes off after a week). Despite my explanation, she told me I was a "woman of color" and said, "Look at your palms--it's evident of heavier melanin." Although flattered that my tan looked real, I was genuinely surprised that a fake tanning product fooled a dermatologist. More concerning to me was that she seemed unwilling to reconsider her opinion after I clarified the situation. She treated me like I was an in denial of my true self and skin tone. She did address my other concerns effectively. I left feeling dismissed rather than listened to and because of that experience, I will not be returning.

Four other dermatologists and allergists all got it wrong; the misery continued unabated despite their best efforts (or guesses). After making Dr Malviya's prescribed changes re medication and especially with regard to personal skin care procedures, the misery was totally gone within two weeks, and stayed gone. It was nothing short of an amazing turnaround. I consider myself exceptionally fortunate to have been directed to this doctor for my skin problem.
