It's a bias review because this place does have some of the best fried rice meals I have tried, it's a comfort and a to go for me! And the place is always kept cleaned and the Staff are sweet people, yes some dishes could use some work or maybe attention to them but they are still decent pretty good prices with great portions, I do recommend the food ! :) read more

Not bad! I went to another Chinese restaurant here in Allen, but it was closed down. I took out my faithful Yelp app and it directed me to Bowl & Chopstix. Not sure I would have come here on my own, but I was in the mood for some Asian food. Sometimes ya just gotta follow suggestions and do it! I ordered at the counter and then decided to eat in house. I had the string bean beef, not what I expected, but it was ok. I think I was expecting it to be a little drier, especially the beans. They use canned beans too. Not my favorite. I have this idea in my head that every Chinese restaurant uses fresh green beans. I know, I need to move on. I also expected it to be spicy, turned out to be fairly bland. The white rice was spot on! The service is super fast and the servers keep the tables bussed quickly. The front area is clean. In a pinch I'd for sure go back. Since I had one order to go and one in house the staff did not make my second order till I was ready to go. Kudos to the wait staff for understanding and accommodating me. Grateful for good staff. I don't know what has happened to this place. It was one of our favorites when we lived nearby. We happened to be passing through Allen tonight with a big craving so we stopped here. The only thing that was up to par was the potstickers. The peanut sauce for the fresh rolls had a really weird flavor. The pad Thai was incredibly bland and the Singapore fried rice was just plain inedible. Maybe it was just a bad night, but we won't be back. I've eaten here for quite some time, but they have added a lot of items to the menu. In particular, they added Pho and do a pretty good job at making it. I like the fact that I can bring my kids here and find something they both like (they are picky eaters). I gave it three stars because threes no real WOW FACTOR. let me first admit that i try to refrain from commercialized chinese food, but today was one of those days where Royal Chopstix was the most convenient since it is in my neighborhood and I was in a rush. Unfortunately, every time I've been to Royal Chopstix I have been underwhelmed. This time was slightly different and there were some ups and downs. Pluses: They do have some of the best veggie egg rolls i've ever eaten, even compared to authentic chinese eateries. Plus they are super large. I could get full just from the eggroll and soup. The food is made to order They have the spicy mustard that I like. The kind with horseradish and that goes through your nose Lunch specials are cheap for what you get (an entree, an eggroll, soup and a drink for one price.) Most places do not include the drink nor do they give you both a soup AND eggroll. The food is just okay. You can't be that picky about cheap, chain chinese. But for like 6 bucks, you're getting a steal for made to order basic chinese The customer service is good and timely Minuses: Royal Chopstix is supposed to be chinese. They recently added my fave THAI soup (Tom Yum) to their menu, so I tried it. It was a disgrace! Absolutely disgusting. I wasted it because it was too nasty to digest. Someone needs to advise that they remove this from their menu. They don't have waiter/waitress service, which is okay for a fast food chinese place. My issue is, since they don't have wait staff, they need a place for people who dine in to dump their own trash or dispose of their own dishes. When you dine in at Royal Chopstix, the food is delivered on real dishes. When you are done eating, you have no choice but to leave the table filled with your dirty dishes. It looks tacky. And if you are walking into the establishment and see several tables filled with dirty dishes, it makes you re-evaluate your decision to dine there. When I walked in today, there were several empty tables with dirty dishes. They need a better process to clean empty tables or they need to provide a place for people to pick up after themselves....or have wait staff. read more

I asked them to make another order and instead of making a new order they called the person who they gave my food to to tell them to bring it back. When I let them know that I did not want food that had already been handled they became angry and told me "it was only gone for 30 minutes". Great portions and amazing food for the price. My wife and I got mandarin chicken and noodles and sesame chicken with brown rice. The food quality was excellent and very flavorful. The noodles where some of the best I've had and the mandarin chicken had just right level of spice to bring out the flavor. The sesame chicken was very well prepared and the sauce was delicious. We thought at first this was a Panda Express type fast food place, but here you sit and order and enjoy a fresh cooked meal. The prices are perfect. Same you'd pay for a fast food meal. The chicken plates where each $6.25. We are rating 4 stars; for us that means the food was amazing, the place was clean and friendly. Beef Egg Rolls are hard to find as most restaurants only have pork, chicken or vegetable. My order of Chicken Lo Mein weighed almost two pounds very impressed, but had little chicken. Some of the worst Chinese food I've eaten. The vegetables were limp and tasteless. Ot seemed like the vegetables were par-boiled ahead of time and simply reheated with the sauce and par-boiled meats. I finally found my favorite place to get food. Too often I get a place that just lightly fried the rice, or only gives dark meat, or don't listen to instructions, or the food doesn't taste good. EVERYTHING I ordered was PERFECT. Chicken, plump, white meat (upon request) and the honey sauce was delicious with a nice kick. I had been craving chinese food and was hoping this would help. I stoped by Royal Chopstix last night. I ordered the Chicken with Cashew Nuts and a Crispy Spring Roll. Although it was housed in a lovely environmentally-unfriendly styrofoam container, my food was still very hot when I got back home. The spring roll was decent. Although I wouldn't order it again... I just dont like shrimp in my spring rolls. As for the Chicken with Cashew Nuts... um, apparently Green Bell Peppers were on sale the last time they had a produce delivery, because that was the only vegetable in my dish. And they were huge chunks of pepper. I picked most of it out. The fried rice was good enough to calm my chinese food craving for a little while. I'm moving in August, so I doubt I'll have another craving that bad within the next 56 days. read more

I was not sure what happened, but sometime later the quality of the food went downhill...so much that I could not stomach to eat there. Recently a good friend of mine asked me out to lunch and wanted to come here. I was not really in the mood for it but I went anyway. I am glad I did.
