Best Takoyaki in the middle of Illinois hands down. Crab Rangoon was very rangoony and not very crabby which leads to the 4 star. Ramen always tastes so flavorful here and you get absolutely what you pay for. The prices are what I'd expect years ago. Servers leave you alone as you eat and occasionally come to check on you. After living on the west coast for a couple years I've been on the hunt for a good ramen spot in town. This was the number one recommended place and I officially know why. The ramen was incredible! We ordered tonkotsu black ramen and spicy tonkotsu miso ramen. Neither one of them disappointed in flavor at all. We ordered take out and it was ready very fast and was still very hot once I got home. It was also my first time seeing the inside and it's quaint and cute in there. I'm not a hardcore ramen connoisseur, but have had it in larger cities (Indianapolis and San Francisco), and this was pretty dang good in comparison. I had the shrimp ramen and loved the broth, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly as well as the egg. Will definitely be back to try other ramens as well as their plates. The crab Rangoon had sooo much filling, too, it was perfect. I was able to bring my baby in her stroller and there was plenty of space for her, the seating is really nice and accommodating. Plenty of tables along the right wall and a few booths on the left. The greeter was very friendly and explained everything to us, giving us menus (you can get them by the door) and letting us know we go to the register to pay. Oh and I loved the jasmine green milk tea with boba!! It wasn't popping boba like I've always had, it was solid honey boba. Can't wait to try more drinks, too. This was the cutest place ever. Very comfy and aesthetic inside. The service was also very nice and explained questions I had. The thai milk tea was so bomb. Bowl plus is such a cute spot and amazing carry out option! I have had such a touch time finding vegan options in town but I have l found the absolute best vegan ramen in town at this spot. I order the spicy creamy vegan ramen. My husband, myself and two year old (she loves the noodles and mixed greens) are definitely able to split one order so cost per serving is insanely good and we all feel full and totally satisfied after the meal too! What a great meal I had here. I got the spicy vegan and added black truffle garlic oil. I've gotten this dish at least three times now and somehow keep finding myself returning to this destination. They are fast friendly, and always adhere to my special recommendations if you like, Rahman, and, awesome tofu I definitely suggest this dish. i got beef tonkatsu, noodles are my main problem,they were out of packaging, if you're going to make all your main entrees ramen then actually make the ramen... and the broth was just lacking in all aspect it was watery, and unseasoned best part about it was the bean sprouts... I would definitely recommend this little hidden gem however I'm not a world class ramen aficionado. My husband and I had the gyoza, takoyaki, tonkotsu black and tonkotsu shoyu. I also had the strawberry field drink with boba (which came in a cute cup that you get to take with you). We enjoyed every single bite of everything we had. Some notable points... The broth was very flavorful with a "clean pork" flavor. The pork was super tender and also very flavorful (not like the bland boiled pork most places serve). The dipping sauce for the gyoza had a bit of sweetness to it that married well with the gyoza. With it being tucked into a small bland shopping area and the outside looking so "cookie cutter", we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere inside. It is decorated with a tasteful asian flare and set up with booths and counter style seating. The lighting is just right, not overwhelming but not dimly lit either. It smelled and looked clean when we were there. You walk in and order then have a seat. They bring everything out to you and clean the table when you leave. We are planning on making this a regular stop when we come to Springfield as it is by far the best we've had in the area. I would say it is definitely worth a try for yourself especially since it isn't overpriced. read more

We are new to Springfield and we're glad to see a ramen place close to us. We ordered takeout. The quantity was good and it was hot. We will come back. That said, it was not outstanding flavor. The spicy miso ramen was absolutely watery, not spicy and tasteless and there is no way the broth is simmered for 8 hours as they market. The Tonkotsu black ramen was passable. But if you're used to legit authentic ramen you can get in bigger cities you will be sorely disappointed. read more

We were greeted and seated immediately and handed menus. We both ordered a bowl of Tonkotsu Shoyu and we shared some Calamari. The Calamari had such a gooey batter that was way too thick. We had hoped it would be more light like a Tempura. The ramen was just blah, the broth looked good but had no real flavor and the noodles seemed more like spaghetti than ramen.
