I've gone there several times - they are not the same anymore ... better go elsewhere for better food and better service

This place is so much nicer than you would expect from a restaurant attached to a mall!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is almost TOO GOOD, they are so attentive and helpful. I'm truly impressed by how knowledgeable they are about the menu options. The server told me that every time the menu changes, they have an All Staff Meeting where they all eat the new items while the chef educates them about the ingredients and cooking process. Every restaurant should do this!! I was there with my Mom and we both had amazing meals that were so good we were happy to have leftovers for later! I'm not in the area very often but I look forward to visiting whenever I am!! read more

We came for dinner on Sunday night. It was behind the White Oaks Mall. There was a lot of free parking in front. This Cooper's Hawk winery looks exactly the same as the ones in Florida. Brie waited on us, she was personable & on point. We started with sangrias, there were 4 to choose from. I absolutely love this restaurant! I've also been to the one in Orlando. The other night, my husband, our kids, and I had dinner there, and we enjoyed everything! The food was delicious, as it always is; they never disappoint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was great, and the vibe was perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Before you sit down, you can enjoy a wine tasting, which is a nice touch. For appetizers, we ordered the potstickers, and they were fantastic--served on a bed of flavorful cabbage slaw. Family of 7 adults wanted dinner on a Monday night. Thought we could just go in about 5:30 and get seated but thought we should call first. No such luck. Ended up with a 7:45 reservation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was seated near the main entry aisle, which we did not like.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got 3 appetizers: the egg rolls, Brussel sprouts, and the bbq brisket flatbread that was on special. The flatbread was really good but The Brussel sprouts were just so so. Thought they were too sweet. For dinner there were a variety of dishes but in the photos are the Skirt steak fillet with fries and the Surf & Turf-Parmesan crusted medallions and drunken shrimp with mashed potatoes and veggies. She was very slow at bringing drinks and did not check in with us regularly. Twice, we had to ask a different server have our waitress come to our table. Racist team & horrible service in the two times I've been there. Not to mention every food item I ordered from the menu was atrocious.

The service was excellent. The Hostess greatest us and took our name, as there were not any seats available. We approached the wine area, where we were asked if we were interested in tasting their wine. We took the offer and sampled several of the wines. It was a wonderful experience. I actually joined Cooper Hawk's Wine program. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After tasting the wines, we were seated for our dinner. The dinning room is very nice, and the service was excellent[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The waitress was very attentive. My wife had the pretzel crusted pork chop. (I forgot to take pics) the pork chop was excellent. It'll be my go to dish from here on. Coopers Hawk is a favorite meet up spot for my in laws and my husband and I. They are gluten free and Cooper's hawk also has a completely gluten free menu which makes for a stress free dining experience. My favorite is the gnocchi carbonara and we always get the Thai lettuce wraps and drunken shrimp for an appetizer! I recently tried the wine tasting with some friends and found wines that I really enjoyed that I didn't think I would! The service was pretty slow while at one point we were the only ones up there. They were probably exhausted with the holiday rush. Our waiter that night also let us know they were out of several things but he was so sincere and sweet and gave us some money off our bill! read more

I'm not sure I would ever go back to this place. I had a reservation for Mother's Day -made weeks in advance and was seated at my table an entire hour later than my reservation. If I could give them 0 stars I would. We had a 6:30 pm reservation. Sat for 20 minutes without our drink order even taken. Other tables that had gotten in after us were getting there food. We had been told by multiple servers someone would be by to help us, but nothing. We had to leave. The manager called and wanted to make things right. She offered to send me something in the mail. We went there last night to celebrate our anniversary. Our server, Jessie, was wonderful. A couple of the managers touched base to make sure everything was going well. We had a reservation at 6:45. We didn't get seated until 7:20. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a chain restaurant with decent food, but when they don't offer you anywhere to sit while you wait over 30 minutes past your reservation it isn't worth it at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was unbelievably rude and uncaring. They rolled their eyes when after a half hour I asked how much longer. Unbelievably bad. No apology, no "hey here's a free drink while you wait" or "here's a free appetizer as an apology for us screwing up so badly". Not even an "I'm sorry for your wait". That shows a lack of leadership, poor management, and a bad staff. Corporate should clean house and try again. When the food came around 8:00, my brother's medium rare stake was a hockey puck. My mother and I's pasta had clearly been reheated in a microwave, and my other brother's flatbread looked like it had been dipped in a bowl of soup. When the bill came, it was for $152. The tip below showed that 20% of that was $48. I shared a picture because I was absolutely stunned. They not only screwed up the entire meal but then they tried to get us to leave a 33% tip by calling it 20%!? This place is a scam! Do not eat here. Ever. 11/14/25 today my bday and I've always been a fan of cooper-hawk but tonight was terrible like I reserved my table and it took them 30 mins to seat us And then we get to the table we order a few tasting which was great then we notice how busy and overwhelmed our server was , took another 30 mins to order wine and received them !!!!!!o.k coo I was still happy and fine at this point but dang and hour went by and we just now ordered food nd however long later I got the Prime sandwich it was tasteless nd cold my cousin food was salty she got the jambalaya nd our server didn't come back nd check on us for a good 25 mins so I did end up getting a burger instead but was ready to go my reservation Was at 6:45 we didn't leave until 10:15 so I politely went and found the manger and just to tell him about the experience and also I didn't want the server to get in trouble the manger sort of look like Santa lol no disrespect and he talk to me nd didn't do anything he didn't walk to the table to tell my family anything , didn't take anything off our check or do anything to make us feel better!!! 7:30PM reservation for MY BIRTHDAY, seated at 8:20PM. Yes, 50min after reservation time. We were so far behind schedule we quickly ordered drinks, appetizer and entrees within 5min of sitting down. First round of drinks appetizers arrived in an appropriate amount of time, but it was 1hr 5min from ordering until our entrees arrived. Subsequent rounds of drinks were extremely delayed, often going 25min+ without seeing our waiter. THEN, to top it all off, they messed up the payment method and lied to us about how much they charged to the cards, when later checking it was $28 more than what they showed. The food was some of the worst I have eaten - ever - and I travel to third world nations. My dish looked like vomit. I will never go back to this overpriced and underwhelming restaurant. There are several restaurants in Springfield that have far better food and will get my business and the clients I bring. I was back home visiting and we stopped here for dinner and boy was I glad we did. The customer service was amazing. They were warm and friendly. The staff was knowledgeable about the dishes offered so they were able to answer all of our questions and make recommendations. We started with the Mexican Drunken shrimp they was delicious and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the red wine braised short ribs and they were moist and tender and the flavor profile made you want to lick the bowl. I ordered gnocchi carbonara it was so flavorful and the gnocchi was cooked perfectly. I loved that they gave enough gnocchi to sauce ratio. I have been a member of Cooper's Hawk since they first came to Springfield, IL. It is my go to restaurant when I want to dine out.Their selection of wines is extensive and I particularly enjoy trying out all of their different appetizers. I have also attended many of their Wine Dinners, which are truly an experience. All of the waitresses and bartenders are very professional and wonderful at their job. I would. also like to take this opportunity to tell you about the assistant manager in the Springfield, Illinois store. Her name is Teresa Sisco and she is an amazing ambassador for Cooper's Hawk. She is welcoming, always has a smile on her face and seems to be everywhere at once greeting the customers. I have seen her solve problems with grace and diplomacy. Drunken shrimp appetizer was very good. Service was a little slow but good. Steak was cooked as ordered. However, the steak was very tough, the marys potatoes? We went on Mothers Day so this may have affected the experience. First time going here, we had made a reservation for right when they opened to beat the crowd. We were sat quickly, but our food took roughly an hour to get to our table even with us being one of the first to place an order. We were repeatedly told it was going to be out soon and then when it finally came out all the food was slightly above room temp like it had been sitting for awhile. The taste was ok but the temperature really negatively impacted the dishes. The worst thing was their "Parmesan fries" which were basically just pre-made frozen, grocery store-like French fries with what seemed like Kraft Parmesan grated cheese sprinkled on top. For how much you're paying I just expected more from a higher-end restaurant in Springfield. The service however was great, our waitress was very attentive and repeatedly checked up on us and tried to give updates on the food as much as she could. read more

Literally 0 stars. The worst restaurant experience. I made a reservation for my birthday with my family to eat here and hopefully have good food. We are trying to enjoy our night even though we are a bit squished but hey, we can work with that. It takes awhile to get our appetizers and when we do they were subpar.the calamari was not good and overcooked. Then our waiter informs us that he just put our order in...ok not sure why you waited until after our appetizer. We had a reservation for 6:15, probably got our appetizers at 6:45/7ish. By 8 we still had not had our food. We had been there two hours and only had 2 little apps and anytime we asked our waiter like hey, where's our food, we were constantly told, oh it should be out soon. Finally I was like this is ridiculous, we are all hungry so I got the manager who said, oh we will take care of it. I'll go check on it. I was like ok maybe he will actually fix the problem and get us some food. 30 more mins go by and still no food so another of my family members goes back to the manager who said he has our food in and cooking. No, still no food and at 3 hours, we walked out. That is not a way to treat your customers. I was patient, way more than I should have been. I would really like my 3 HOURS, spent here back. I will never go back there again. Worst service. 5 stars to raising canes that fed my family after leaving this dumpster fire of a restaurant at 9:20 at night.
