If I could give 0 stars I would. We came here for my little sisters birthday with 16 people two of us did not want to bowl and we also had a 2 year old with us. We were told by the manager we would have to pay $25 a person even if we didn't wish to bowl. We were also told we would have to pay an additional $25 for the 2 year old even though she would not be bowling and in a stroller. I had high hopes for the place after finding it on yelp. There aren't many lanes that are reviewed in the Bronx. We came here for our family date on Presidents Day and waited 20 minutes to get a lane even though there was only one person in front of us. Second frustration came from the fact that the kitchen was closed, my family came here hungry looking forward to Pizza and some fries and had to convince the four yr old that the kitchen was closed. Sorry Bowlerland, I've been to better bowling alleys in Brooklyn. This bowling locale is in the boondocks of the Bronx, quite a scary spot late at night. One of the staff had a dismissive attitude, specially in the food bar section next to the pool tables. They advertise a lot of beers, but are limited to a handful. The food is bowling alley food, microwave oven pizza, and nasty salted nachos with that yellow thing it came with, "cheez" I guess. But what made me feel rough, besides the food,was the fact that this place does not accept Credit/Debit Cards, CASH ONLY!!!!! So if you don't carry cash don't bother walking in, you're gonna be inconvenienced. Come on Bowlerland invest in POS stations or have ATM's. This place is a miss. read more

They're understaffed, kitchen was closed at 4 something in the afternoon. It took them forever to bring drinks and food to my guest. Meanwhile I left deposit. So they knew I was coming! This place is in the cut looks like a its behind a truck route or something. It is accessible right off the I-95 and the Dyre Ave train station. Keep in mind if taking the train you may have to take a bus or a short cab ride as it is a little walk.. Had a birthday party for my 4 year old. Price for 10 kids 2 games was $260 which included 2 boxes of pizza, a pitcher of juice and a real bowling pin where the guest can sign. I found that to be reasonable being that other bowling alleys charged way more $$$ and u have to be out by a specific time. The grown-ups even decided to bowl...cost was $8 per game with the shoes being free. Please remember to wear socks if not you can buy at the vending machine for $4. I never felt rushed even though I went over my time. Staff was nice; one of the girls accidentally charged me for food although it was included in my package but the manager immediately returned the $$$ and gave me an extra box of pizza on the house. They provide u with a table cloth but I brought my own party decorations being that it was a theme. Helium balloons are not allowed as it can interfere with the fire sprinkler system; u can bring your own non-helium balloons just make sure u tie it down to the chairs. Bathrooms and surrounding areas were clean. Remember this is a no frills place so don't expect too much. Oh & bring CASH THEY DO NOT ACCEPT DEBIT OR CREDIT CARDS. This was my first time coming to this bowling alley and the location is kind of random. Luckily there is a gas station nearby because they don't have ATM machines and they don't take anything but cash. I mean its 2012 if you don't take debit cards or credit cards I think they should at least provide an ATM for the customers, so that was annoying that we had to go to the gas station to withdraw cash. The prices are reasonable. Open-1pm its $5.50 a game per person, and 1pm-close is $6 a game per person. And the shoe rental is free. There is nothing really special about this bowling alley it looks like it could do with a bit of remodeling but it serves its purpose. The prices for food a bit ridiculous but expected. If I could give this place negative 5 stars I would! Take yourself back to the 1800's when there were no bloody credit or debit cards. I went there with my brother my two nieces and my son. My brother forgot to bring cash so went back out. I gave my nieces the sandwiches that my brother prepared, they sat and ate. No one said a bloody thing. I called my brother and told him to bring my son a burger having tried to use my credit card here but with no luck because they don't take credit cards. Even the vending machine does not take them, have I transported myself in a timewarp lol. So my brother came back with a food, then this fat bloke came over and said no outside food, (he made it a point for me to take it outside) but wait my nieces sat and ate, no issues. He pointed out a sign, I am sorry I neglected to read your sign while I was taking care of 3 young kids! I tried ordering food but could not because your establishment is stuck in the Jurassic period and so are the vending machines. So I took my 6yr old son to eat outside in the car, meanwhile it is snowing outside. There is nothing in this area, my brother had to drive a good distance to get to a bloody ATM. A piece of advice if you was was want to take your establishment to the present year 2019, customers are the reason why you are in existence and the only reason, get with the program, start taking credit/debit cards or put a bloody Atm on the premises. Your worker with the bun and glasses, short and white, was beyond rude to me and my friends. I went up to order food and right away got attitude. I used to love this place but now it is just way too pricey and falling apart! I called in advance to request the birthday party package and was told parties are not done after 4pm. I had a group of 32 friends/family members. I asked if I can bring a small cake or cupcakes for my son's 10th birthday and was told NO. There is absolutely no outside foods or drinks allowed NOT EVEN A WATER BOTTLE!!! Because my son really wanted a bowling party and we had already told everyone in our group to go here that night, we decided to go anyway and thought that we would at a group discount. We arrived and were stunned by the treatment of the owner. He walks around like a drill sergeant keeping an eye on his staff at every minute. Not friendly at all. He has overpriced everything in this place.... $20 for a pizza pie (ordered 4)... $25 if you want pepperoni (ordered 1). $10 for a small pitcher of juice or flat soda (ordered 3).. $30 for a bucket of 5 hot beers (ordered 3). The bar has very limited bottles of liquor. If you see something you like, don't get too excited, it may be empty! There was no lemon or lime for the beers. The owner/manager did not approve any type of group discount for us... Also, I asked for a courtesy cup of water for someone who does not drink soda or beer and was told that they do not provide courtesy cups of water, I would have to buy a $3 water bottle. I had to get "permission from bossman" to pay for four lanes with two games at each one. My reaction?... Are you kidding me?!! I have a group of 32 people!! I was told he only approves two lanes at a time even if the place is empty. When I told them I would walk out and take everyone with me, it was automatically approved! The bowling shoes are old and worn out. The lights for the glow-in-the dark bowling were never activated which was what the kids were really looking forward to so that was very disappointing. Pool table.. $2! and you have to leave your state id! The restrooms were gross. Dirty tissue all over the floors...no hand soap... no hand towels. The only pro about this place is the staff. Not sure if its because of Mr. Drill Sergeant, but they were nice and attentive to our needs... it's the only reason I am giving this place two stars. Parking has gotten worst each time I come here. Their parking lot is full of potholes and there are many 18 wheeler trucks taking up the street parking. Would I go here again?....NO! Not ever giving them another one of my dollars! I recently went to this bowling alley with a large group and was horrified by the customer service. They don't reserve lanes even if you are prepared to pay for them. This is a bit ridiculous but understandable. Let's start with the owner, Gus. I'm not sure where he gained his business management experience but he needs to enroll in business school immediately! Even if your dream business is a low budget back alley bowling establishment, you should still invest in your business management skills. He was completely rude and disrespectful. He clearly did not need my business because after complaining he simply brushed me off. After engaging with him, I could understand where his staff got their rude behavior from. He doesn't care about customer service which trickles down to his staff. The alley has 32 lanes, a lounge, a small pool area and a place to purchase food. Guess how many staff were on duty, on a Friday night? A whopping 4 people! 3 of those people handle the shoes and the other disgruntled person handles the food area. Getting food and by food I mean microwaved pizza, chicken fingers and fries too anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes. I came to this alley a year ago around the same time with a large group and my experience was completely different! The staff at the time were so helpful and on top of their jobs. I'm not sure if management changed but whatever changed, they need to change back! You can't beat the price to bowl here but if you value good customer service, please take your business elsewhere! I like this place is pretty decent looking and the prices are good plus the shoe rental is free, the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because one of the employees was extremely rude idk if she was just having a bad day (which I hope so because I would go back) or if she's always like that all the time. She was so nasty with all the customers that night I notice a lot of people complaining about her. The manager or owner should definitely check with her what's up. I've worked retail for a while and i know what it's like to have both rude customers and unreasonable bosses but I have never and I will never take it out on customers that have nothing to do with the situation. What a shame. This is a place I attended for parties and would go frequently to kill a few hours with my son. On my recent trip, my land had constant issues. First balls not coming back, then instead of starting with 10 pins it would be 7-9 pins to start. Like a dope we played a few frames thinking it would correct itself. When it didn't, I finally went to front and they changed lanes. Instead of starting over or giving a free game when I complained, the guy at the front said "oh well, that's bowling". I continued to press on him and asked to speak to a manager and he declined. Not only will I never go back, but trust me I will spread the word to as many people as possible. Went to a kids birthday party yesterday and prior to the invite, I had never heard of this place. The party was from 4-7. The place seemed clean and my boys were excited to bowl. There were a few problems with the pins coming back up and the host of the party immediately asked for help. In my opinion, the few workers I saw were very slow and didn't seem happy to be working. I had to ask someone for help and the young man in food counter ignored me as I was standing waiting to speak to him. The host must have asked about 4 times , where the food was. They were slow and didn't seem to care that this was a party and kids were hungry. I would never have a party here. read more

Had a horrible experience taking our youth group to this place on September 27th . The manager was sooooo rude and disrespectful on numerous occasions . If the kids were not there I would left right away . We had called and was told it was $25 per person . When we got there and was about to pay while the kids were getting their shoes , the lady confirmed . The male was not like no , that price is for Thursday - Sunday not weekends . The lady that worked there was like no and went in the back to talk to him ( while we can still see them talking about the price). He came Back and said no . We were already there with the kids just finished putting on their shoes so we paid for two lanes . We asked to speak to manager because we were told the wrong info and he had a nasty attitude and was ready to say no nothing can be done before we even finished . Fine . We bought 3 pies and I tried to ask the manager about bringing in some water for the kids . He said no outside food or beverage. I'm like it's water . He said they could choke on the water . I asked but they choke on the water in the vending machine but you just want us to buy your stuff . We already paid for 12 bowlers and bought three pies . And he said no ! I understand that outside food cannot be allowed but he was so rude and dismissive . Then a parent who dropped off her kid came back in and had soup in a container that she was sipping and he came all the way in the back where we were bowling and very rudely told her to get out or he would take her back and out it outside ! I had a terrible experience with my husband and three children! My husband and I took our 2, 7, and 9 yr old with us with other members from the church. When we arrived we were told it would be $18 for unlimited bowling & pizza. So when my husband and I were paying, the manager said we had to pay for the kids at $18 each. We told him they weren't bowling. The manager was very rude and said, "They will be eating pizza, aren't they!" I told him I was going to sacrifice my slice for my children. He said no! That that couldn't happen. So I told them I wanted to pay for a game so they can play by us. He told us our kids would be placed on the other side of the bowling alley. Wt?!? Really? They are children!! Apparently the side we were on was for unlimited bowling and pizza. He had the nerve to tell his employee to charge us for the kids, even though we didn't agree. I told him not to, that I would buy their food seperately. The manager was rude once again. To top it off, while my husband and I were getting ready to put our bowling shoes on, he bypassed us and went to OUR children, who were by the games and TOLD THEM (once again 2, 7, 9 yr old) that they had to put money in the games. Needless to say, my husband and I were extremely disgusted and felt completely disrespected. We demanded a refund and expressed our unsatisfaction. He had no right to treat my family that way! This is obviously NOT a family friendly buisness. Thank goodness I've taught my children and all students I've ever taught that this is not the way to treat people. Terrible customer service.
