Great drinks and food! Ambience is esthetically appealing. I've been here many times and each time never fails.

I was on time for my 7PM reservation and good thing I had a reservation, thanks to Felix. Home Bx was packed, with only a few tables remaining and all the flatscreens and a new screen behind where the live entertainment plays, broadcasting the England victory over Norway and the Argentina victory over Switzerland. It had been a while since I had been here and I was focused on the number one item on the menu: the 53oz bone in Cote de Boeuf, always medium rare, which I believe is one of the best values for carnivores in town. Once seated in the corner near the front window, I perused their new menu off the new menu from the QR code. I noticed the pork belly over chickpeas and ordered that along with a glass of red sangria. Irma took my order and I explained I wanted a fruity non fortified red sangria. It was very good. Irma forgot the bread and butter they usually serve and they brought it later after her shift ended. The pork belly was very good and so crisp. The serrated steak knife was necessary. The fat was largely rendered out, but still present between the crackling skin and the savory meat underneath. It was two thick slabs over the chickpeas and a substantial appetizer for 16 bucks. Some appetites could enjoy this as a main with a salad and be fine. That would not be me this evening. I ordered the Cote de Boeuf medium rare, which comes with grilled onions and two sides, which I chose the whipped potatoes and the asparagus, the latter new to the menu. I also ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese as an extra, which is now served with Gruyere as an additional cheese to the mix. The Gruyere is new and it adds a sharpness juxtaposed with the sweet lobster meat and puts this over the top for me. They adjoined the neighboring free table and presented the steak sizzling and pre-cut nicely from the kitchen. I tried to take a video of that moment without success. I told them to hold all the sauces they offer and just bring the citrus salt. This magnificent cut only needs the citrus salt and nothing more; though, you will find those grilled onions go well with this cut. At $125 for this hunk of bone in excellence, this is one of the best cuts served in NYC at an irrefutably great value, with the sides included, save for the Lobster Mac and Cheese. So juicy and flavorsome highlighted with the citrus salt, that pink center with the ring is evident of what the skillful chefs can do here at Home Bx. The steak at Home Bx may be aged, dry or wet, I cannot confirm; however, the edge goes to less than a handful of the other steakhouses for flavor, but none at this price. The whipped potatoes are great and are the perfect accomplishment for steak. I don't know why the whipped potatoes are served modestly for such a large steak, but they are very good. The asparagus, new to the menu, are about six large spears and are not overcooked. The salt and juice runoff from the steak go well with the asparagus counterpoint. The Lobster Mac and Cheese deserves repeat mention, with the addition of Gruyere cheese. It now has more refined and balanced flavor, with the Gruyere and lobster playing off each other. The Lobster Mac and Cheese is a must have here. It's that good and goes well with the steak. 4.3 stars! Stay tuned for part two of this review. I went to Home BX Steak for my 36th birthday dinner, and overall it was a mixed experience. The ambience is really cute--definitely a nice spot for a celebration or a night out. The service was also top tier. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time, which I really appreciated for a special occasion. As for the food, it was just okay. My steak had a bit more fat than I would've liked, and while it was still decent, it didn't fully meet my expectations. The drinks were on the sweeter side, which may be a plus for some, but weren't really my preference. My friends and family felt pretty similar--everyone said their food was okay, nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out. Overall, it's a cute spot with great service, but the food could definitely be better. I'd still consider going back for the vibe and maybe trying different menu items. read more

Celebrated Father's Day here. I actually liked the decor and set up of the restaurant. I was disappointed in the appetizers that was available on Father's Day. There really wasn't much to share with small kids so we settled on bacon - yes you read that right. They have bacon as an appetizer lol. It was ok - on the thicker side and a little greasy. I had the seafood pasta, others had the steak and the short ribs. The pasta was creamy and the steak was good. The short ribs I didn't care for the sauce it was cooked in. We also had pitchers of Sangria - we figured it would be cheaper than paying by glass but beware the pitchers are $110 each. The restaurant is not cheap but it's nice to have a more upscale restaurant on that side of The Bronx. I enjoyed it and wouldn't mind going back. read more

This is a great little spot in the Bronx! It's not your normal steak joint, it has all other types of entrees paired with yummy apps. I've patronized this spot a couple of times in the past years and visited as recently as this past Saturday. You get what you pay for here. The chef loves his job and we can taste it in his creations. The music is loud but I honestly can't complain about the selection. The waitress didn't visit much but we also didn't need her. I have absolutely no complaints and should probably visit more often to get a full experience of the menu and the chefs talents. The only possible inconvenience I can foresee is parking if you're not one of God's favorites. Other than that the music's good, foods great, the temperature is accommodating. Enjoy. read more

One of my friends who lives in the Bronx recommended Home Bx Steakhouse, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. We went on a Tuesday night, and the place wasn't too busy. We were seated right away, and the service was prompt and attentive throughout the night. The food? Absolutely amazing! We ordered a feast: calamari, tostones, mac and cheese, whipped mashed potatoes, fries, and a massive steak to share. Everything was cooked to perfection. The steak was tender and flavorful, the sides were indulgent, and let's just say there were no leftovers--always a sign of a great meal! The drinks were on point as well, adding to the celebratory vibe. By the time we left, we were stuffed and completely satisfied. Overall, Home Bx Steakhouse was a hit. It's a cute spot that definitely has a lot of potential but, it's lacking service in terms of getting a cocktail in less than 15-30 plus minutes. Not your traditional steakhouse in my opinion but still a steakhouse if that makes sense. It gives a nice rustic family vibe with an open concept. I had this place bookmarked for over a year made my way down 2 weeks ago because I wanted oysters and they had happy hour where they were $2 each. Let's just say I made the most of this and downed about 18 oysters by myself lol the happy hour drinks are good I didn't like the coconut mojito too much but the white sangria 10/10. The service is friendly warm and attentive I also enjoyed the comp bread and butter, I also had the pork belly with garbanzo beans and that was soooo yummy the highlight for me mad I didn't get dessert. I've been a customer with you for three years now. I've been dining with you since you opened your establishment. I truly fell in love with your baked oysters and also loved being able to get them raw as well in the summer days. Your staff always went above and beyond for service. This year I will say the consistency of your food has definitely gone down so has the service. We came for Valentine's day was the 4th table to be sat early reservation to beat the crowds. Didn't need the menu we already know what we like to order. Unfortunately because it was Valentine's Day everything else was available but the oysters. Which is what we can for yet there was nothing on the website about a speciality menu that day so I was truly disappointed. We can again in April sat at the bar just to order oysters and drinks. The oysters took almost an hour to come out then they are the smallest baby oysters I've ever seen plus the taste was off you can definitely tell they didn't use the proper ingredients. We left very disappointed when you're paying $24 for 6 mini baby oysters um doesn't make sense. We came back again on the 4th of July sat outside just ordered 2 orders of baked oysters then after we were done we ordered some raw ones. The consistency of the oysters were back to normal delicious and creamy due to the cheese. They even were bigger than before but the raw ones were again mini oysters smaller than your pinky. Smaller than the baked ones. The condiments were a mignonette, cocktail sauce, and a supposed wasakaka sauce that were delicious paring. We missed them so much we went again last night ordered a French onion soup, 2 orders of baked clams and 2 orders of raw oysters. The wait for raw oysters was still an hour which completely baffles me cause when they come again the smallest raw oysters . So you asked yourself what takes so long. Besides that the condiments for the oysters were different this time of the sauces were extremely hot it cleared our sinuses which it wasn't what we had last night. Baked clams come out ten mins after that again they are delicious. When the soup came out it was inedible to eat. There was barely any broth you literally choked on the cheese because that's all it was. Just really disgusting . When I first came in we ordered soda and water know one ever refilled our glasses. I was only asked if I wanted a refill after I requested my check to go. I question how would the service be if it was busy night because there was maybe a handful of tables. Tonight was my first time visiting this spot and I enjoyed everything about it. It was 7 of us, so we made a reservation. The service was very good. The guy/hostess who greeted us was very nice and accommodating to our party. The ambience is semi formal. Dim lighting with candles in the tables. Music is low enough to allow you to talk. The waitress who took care of our table, was also very friendly and on top of our needs. The menu is good. Has a lot of good options. They are a steak house but also have a bit of a Hispanic/Latin twist to the menu items. So you'll find tostones (fried plantains) and arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas ) as a side. I got the ribeye with a side of the Parmesan fries but I also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts. (Which were delicious) Others at the table got a side of the yuca fries, lobster Mac and cheese, burrata salad and other stuff with their steaLike I said , the menu is good. Honestly not going to hide the truth I was a little skeptical about trying this place being that it took so long to open. We had the zucchini dip and bacon to start The dip was very good, nice texture and nice flavor. The bacon was ok, it was missing the black pepper but had a descent taste. The entrees were amazing. I had the filet and my wife had one kf the specials. She said her fell off the bone and the risotto had a great flavor. The filet was probably one of the best i have had in a very long time. Since I write reviews I had to have dessert and the apple tart was not to be missed. Yes they have S&S cheesecake but I live in the neighborhood and could get that anytime. Home Bx Steakhouse had been on my list of places to visit- and what a letdown! First, we wanted to place the order for pick up and when we called the person on the phone was LOST. The girl stated that they were having an event and advised us to order on UberEats- very dismissive! How about speaking with the customer and seeing what you can work out- not everyone has UberEats... and again, it was an order for pick up. Nobody was trying to dine in! Then, I explained that if they are taking orders on UberEats, it would be the same (on their end) as taking it over the phone. Either way, they would have to use their kitchen... it would have been different if they had the kitchen only available for the event. However, that was not the case! Anyways, I finally spoke some sense into the person on the phone... when we arrived, we called to let them know- the event that they were having was exposed... you could literally see everyone dancing from outside the restaurant - That has nothing to do with MY experience, but it was awkward so I thought it was worth mentioning... Back to my experience-- When I got home, and I opened my food... the first thing I noticed was that the food was visually unappealing... the food was not giving "fresh" or "delicious." The churrasco was a bad cut and it had a lot of fat pieces. As soon as I took my first bite, I made a comment of how spicy it was. I had never had a SPICY churrasco... I got a reaction- my face turned very red and I was uncomfortable. The next morning, I was still feeling the effects of the food. The whipped potatoes were bland... I cannot speak on the asparagus- my baby did not try it either... total waste! Straight to the garbage.... The burger- mediocre... The only thing that saved it was the bun! My mother and i had come here a couple of years ago and didn't have the best experience. Finally! A Spanish style steakhouse in Riverdale. I had the eggplant "tollito" (little mess of seasoned eggplant) with pita bread for an appetizer - Delicious! Should have taken a picture. Nothing like it in the area and only reminded me of my Nana's. Salmon was cooked to perfection and seasoned flawlessly. The service was very good. My friend was not pleased with her dirty martini but they quickly offered to fix it. Home BX Steakhouse is a fairly new restaurant in Kingsbridge. The atmosphere is really lovely. They have an area that's set up with a piano for live music. Just a heads up, the live music started around 10 PM on a Friday. The servers are very attentive and helpful. We ordered the truffle fries, burrata, beef Bourguignon, and apple tart. The presentation of the beef looked really beautiful, but unfortunately it was overly salty and hard to enjoy. The happy hour specials made up for this. The location is convenient- right off the highway and close to the subway. The restaurant is sexy and the decor is well thought out. Now the food... wow! I've been searching for a place that made grilled oysters and they did not disappoint. I was part of a party of 5 and everyone genuinely enjoyed their meals. The lobster Mac and cheese and lobster bisque had actual chunks of lobster, the lamb chops were tender and flavorful and the sangria makes you do a little shoulder shimmy when you take your first sip. Home BX Steakhouse newly opened and wanted to give it a try. Didnt know the name until it actually opened. Saw a sign outside promoting its happy hour so I figured that would be a nice introduction. The space is open and romantic but not enough to reconsider sitting at the bar. They have live music on Friday nights. Not sure how often so check their IG for more info. They currently have some of the drinks on the happy hours. Im assuming no apps as of yet. The drinks are truly made with quality and for happy hour prices, its a must! Classy AF is currently my fav (not a happy hr drink but definitely worth it). I had the Fillet Mignon and it was *chefs kiss*. The salmon was also pretty good. Just the right portion. The mac and cheese was good despite that i am not a breadcrumb fan. The oyster always seem to have picked correctly and fresh. The Chef Harold makes himself known by making sure the meal is exceeding expectations. The bartender Adonis is great when at maintaining that quality control of the drinks. The other bartender Eric is also great with superb music selection. The staff here are empathic. I see myself coming here often. This place is truly welcoming. I'm sure HBS will be a huge impact on the community which most definitely needed a space like this. read more

I met up with a coworker here on a Thursday night in March at around 7:45. We made reservations but when we arrived it didn't look like we actually needed them. Better to have them and not need it than need them and not have them though, in my opinion. Our server came over and checked in on what we wanted. I think he may have been a bit worried because we were taking long to order because he kept coming back anxiously, however once we did order it was as if he would disappear at some points lol. *For the Drinks* We had a glass of sparkling water ($7), each had a margarita ($14 ea- $28), and one of us had a drink called A Ride Home ($15) and the other had a drink called The Critic ($13). *For the food* Appetizers: He had the onion soup ($12) which he said was really good, which had a havarti and sharp cheddar cheese, and I had the crab cake ($18) which had mango chimichurri, salsa criolla and was very nicely cooked and a decent size. I believe was asked for a salad that never came (one of the times the waiter disappeared and was long enough where we didn't want it any longer) but it wasn't included on the bill so no big deal. We also thought about adding on the home wings but when the salad didn't come we didn't bother with the wings. Entrees: Yes, it is a steakhouse, and yes I ordered the Grilled Lambchops ($32). (In my defense I just had steak two days before) They came with a delicious sauce and some roasted veggies along with a side of rice and beans. I also had a side of Maduros ($8). Everything I had was delicious. I also had plenty where there was enough to wrap up to go. His was the NY Strip 12oz ($45) and he also had lobster mac & cheese. He said the steak and the sauce were awesome together and he devoured the mac and cheese. This was another time where the extended disappearance of the waiter made us change our mind about adding items. We were going to get tostones, creamed spinach and/ or whipped potatoes but since the guy never came back we just decided against it. I would definitely come back. The sometimes inattentiveness of the waiter did not diminish the time that we had nor did it change how good the food was. They don't charge extra for using credit cards and they did not automatically add gratuity. I see many experiences where people came for events and didn't have the best time. I don't know if that plays a part in the service... it shouldn't but that seems to be the similar trend in the disgruntled reviews. Hopefully for those planning events here that changes but for those who are just going for dinner and to catch up with friends it seems like a chill place to go. read more
