Service was VERY slow , But the view and atmosphere is nice. The food was just ok , I wouldn't say I would go back.

Upon arriving on a weekday, it wasn't very crowded, inside hostess was overwhelmed with a clothing sale, stood there for over 8 minutes, 3 servers standing at the bar talking, finally asked if we could be seated, they replied she can help you, she the one with the overwhelming sale... didn't acknowledge us. Another 2 minutes she asked, inside or outside? We said outside she replied there is a hostess outside that can help you.... No one else could mention that.... But no big deal, enjoyed the seafood flatbread very much, the beach was pretty had a cocktail and beer. Later the credit card company informed us that we left a 38% tip... no we didn't someone changed the amount. We left 20%.. called and the manager refunded the extra 8 dollars...however never offered us to come back or seemed shocked that someone changed the amount. This was with me and a friend and we split the bill and both left $4 and both were charged $8! IF YOU GO PAY CASH!!! read more

If I could give 0 I would. Super disappointed after having previous great experiences. They refused to seat people even though they had 30 tables open. Told the "kitchen was behind" and the wait would be an hour. We asked if we could at least sit and order drinks and was told no. It took them forever! And then food was just ok at best. Quite honestly this restaurant has the worst service I've ever seen. We waited over an hour for our food to come out after we ordered it. The people around us were receiving their food and leaving before our food came out. The waitress was a nice girl but she definitely should not be a waitress. We never got silverware for our food and when we asked for it, they said they did not have clean knives. Our food and drink orders were all messed up. Plus, the waitress overcharged us on the receipt. When we talked to the manager, things just got worse. He was very passive of our disappointment and very unhelpful in figuring out the check. He should not be working with people if he can't properly communicate and ensure the restaurant runs soundly. The bathrooms were absolutely trashed and the place had flies. The only redeeming part was the food being halfway decent. I would recommend carry out if you want to go here, not worth the hour long wait for food and the garbage service. Also, after the long wait for the food, we were given everything we ordered at once which included appetizers at the same time as our entree. After reading the rest of the reviews, it's abundantly clear that the service is awful and always has been, the kitchen is always "backed up" as they kept saying, and when you voice your concerns to a manager they don't care at all about you as a customer. Whoever owns this place needs to get their shit together and learn how to run a restaurant and hire the right people. read more

1 star for the ambiance and 1 for the cauliflower appetizer. My unseasoned food came out cold. I asked for it to be heated up and it came out lukewarm. I was over it and just ordered the cauliflower my friend had. They were hot, crispy and delicious. There were so many service issues that I can't even name them all. The place is beautiful! Just have to be honest... wanted to love the place but they gave me a horribly small beer, a overpriced mixed fruit drink ... I let that go because I was like maybe just maybe the food will be better. NO! I am not picky at all!!!! Literally at all but I paid $23 for chicken parm but it was cold spaghetti with a burnt piece of chicken, and they forgot my soup... also forgot the side I ordered. I don't even like to complain but I want to be honest - it wasn't busy at all ... the atmosphere makes me wanna love it - but I spent $124 on 3 vodka sodas, a blue moon, chicken parm & soup I didn't get lol... that's outrageous. Took out of town visitors for dinner...Big mistake. Waited 25 minutes for a table. After being seated and placing our orders waited an additional 40 minutes only to be told the kitchen was "backed up", and our meals would not be served for at least 35 more minutes. We opted not to wait. To add insult to injury, no compensation was offered for our inconvenience. Poor form...very disorganized and unprofessional. Never again! read more

My family of four ate there in late September when the weather was still perfect! It truly is one of the prettiest outside restaurants in Baltimore County! The food was delicious and our server was nice as could be. Definitely try the scallops over homemade pasta but save room for the bread pudding for dessert. Went to this restaurant for an indoor lunch (the full menu throughout the day is a bonus). Extremely satisfied with appetizers (Ahi Tuna, Rockfish Bites, Crab Soap, Crab Pretzel, and Truffle Fries were outstanding!). Entrees we're Crab Cake, Virginia Fluke, New York Strip Steak, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Burger, Mahi Mahi, and Italian Scallops. The chef here knows their stuff - the best food we've had in some time. We had dinner there last night. Everything was perfect! The atmosphere is fun and the sunset was gorgeous. The cocktails were delicious. My husband and I both had tasty meals. I had the Baja wrap and my husband had a chicken sandwich. We both polished our plates clean. Everything was efficient and lovely. The best part of the experience was how sweet the entire staff was to our fidgety 13 month old. Our waitress, Liz, from the start went above and beyond showing kindness and attention to him. She was such an attentive and helpful server. Our toddler was obsessed with her which was adorable. We really appreciate a business as nice as this being so accommodating to our child. I'm a African American man who Had the chance to visit Bowleys on the bay today. While sitting with my family of seven seated at two separate tables. The Manager Kyle proceeds to walk pass another table of seven seated right next to us. (Table of all Caucasians) and proceeds to tell me "that it's nothing personal but we had to separate our table as they can only seat 6 per table". He then proceeds to picking up the table I'm seated at and move it literally 3 inches away from the other table. I politely mentioned that the table he just walked pass also has seven seated and they have clearly been here for some time as the table was plastered with beer cans. He then walks to the table Where they were seated and says " (huffing and puffing ) we have to separate you "as if he was doing it for my pleasure. But after being seated we were greeted by our waitress she took our drinks which came out fast and then we put our food order in and had to wait an hour to receive our food while other tables around us which were seated after us had had their food.!!! Food was good, but it took an hour to get our food and my salad had blue cheese on it and I specifically asked for it on the side because I don't like blue cheese so my wife could eat it. This place has awesome views and the venue is clean and appealing. Waitress was nice but that's about where it ends. Had a 7pm reservation and when we got there the hostess informed us that our tables in the bar area had been given away. So we waited for 20 minutes to sit outside, no biggie. Ordered food and it was beyond slow. Soups took 30 minutes to come. They were tasty but 30 minutes for soup was odd. Then at 8:30, with no sign of our food after an hour of waiting, we asked to be moved inside since the sun had set, it was getting cold outside, and still no sign of food. The waitress was polite and handles this request well but the people inside were clearly flustered by this. Not sure why since the bar area was rather empty at this point. Clear lack of communication going on here. Finally at 9pm we had to politely approach our waitress and ask her if the food was close to coming, To which she had no clue. We decided to leave since the wait time was just unacceptable. This place has some nice and talented waitresses but there is a clear issue going on here coming from the top. She was very pleasant but we hardly saw her except running around waiting on other tables after we placed our order. The food we received did have a nice flavor.. We visited the restaurant 3/18/21. We had been their previously in the summer for drinks. Dinner was great! The chef's special was rock fish with pierogi's, corn, and crab and it was amazing! There was live music in the bar area, & drinks were great! Waitress was attentive, and had good recommendations. I assume he was the manager or owner, but you can tell he cares about his job and he is good at it! He checked on you, and even gave our family t shirts! No one check on us, offered an apology or even a glassof water while we waited.The only reason we stick around was because of the open seating near the water. My wife and I went to spend the evening to celebrate our anniversary. During this time of pandemic and social distancing, the Bowleys on the Bay seemed a good choice. Outdoor venue, tables spaced far apart, a warm summer evening, great view of the water, palm trees, music... seemed like a nice place. Arrived, were seated within 30 minutes, brought to a table that had not been cleaned, but were assured someone would be over. 20 minutes passed when staff finally came over to take our order - REALLY?! I asked for the table to be cleaned, a staff member came over within 10 minutes, spray bottle in hand BUT didn't spray the table, he just wiped down half the table with the rag in his other hand. - I asked him to wipe the entire table -he was not happy, but did comply to my request. CDC guidelines state that tables are to be disinfected before anyone sits at them. The menus were sticky, it seemed a good idea to leave at this point. I spoke with John and explained the scenario, his response was "Duly noted" - that was all he said. Disappointing service at a venue that is doing well during this virus. I am not someone who is typically over cautious (or I wouldn't have chosen to dine out) but I do comply with the rules so that everyone feels safe. read more

This must be the worst place I have ever been to. That's saying a lot because I didn't even get seated. I had a reservation for 1:30 today and the experience I had was a 0/5. When arriving I was told I would have to wait an extra 30 minutes because they had 1 server and the kitchen was backed up. I waited the 30 minutes extra come to find out I was told a second time they were not seating anyone because the kitchen was still backed up. Here's the worst part someone with a reservation for 1:50 was sat right away when I was in line waiting to get a time frame for the 2nd time. But they didn't have a problem crowding both bars to take your money. I ended up leaving and didn't cancel my reservation. I got a call from the hostess at 2:40 saying my table was ready. That's just sad. I will never give this place a second chance EVER again. TRASH all the way through. I will also tell everyone I know to stay away from this horrendous managed restaurant. read more
