Wow! First time here, definitely not my last. Came here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, sat outside on the deck, and listened to the live band. I'm surprised by how large this restaurant is both inside and outside. There are lots of choices on the menu. My friend got a burger and said it was delicious. She's been here many times before. I got a bowl of Maryland crab soup, and it was really good and filling. I also got the Bay Bridge Wrap, which was big and heavy, and I took half of it home. The Bay Bridge Wrap had a huge crab cake and shrimp salad with lettuce and tomato, and it was so good and extremely filling. I opted to get it with fries instead of chips. Highly recommend. I was having trouble finishing even just the first half. It will make a really good lunch tomorrow! So many things to try there. I'm looking forward to going back. Bella, our server, was fantastic and kept checking in with us. She was quick to refill our water whenever we needed it. Highly recommend and looking forward to coming back soon. read more

The food has huge portions. We came on a Saturday night for a friends birthday. The main dining room was packed with people having a great time, the outdoor seating appeared to be full and a good time as well! However, service was sloooooow. And we expected some wait for food as there were so many people during dinner hour. But as most of the dining room has cleared out, service is still pretty slow. Again, good food, huge portions. My husband and I had an excellent dinner at LoonAsea! Our server, Chris, was excellent and very attentive. After a 30ish minute wait, we were sat at a lovely table outside with great water views. We tried 3 different crushes and all were fantastic, but we both agreed our #1 favorite was the Dole Whip! We shared the wings as our appetizer and while they could have been a little warmer, they were very meaty and had plenty of sauce. Our main dishes impressed as well! Nice location on the water with inside and outside seating. Very large bar. Small parking lot, but I think they have a satellite parking lot where they bus you in (check their socials). They did have live music when we went. Very loud. Asked to be moved further back, but hostess said no due to the server in that section being cut (dining room was empty). Our server came to greet us and she saw we were struggling to hear and invited us to move further away. Told her what hostess said. She said she didn't mind serving us from further back so that we could hear her and ourselves. Server was terrific. I think her name was Alina??? Could be wrong. She was terrific. Very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. She made this a great experience. Very wide variety of options on the menu. You won't have an issue finding something. Ordered bang n shrimp for an app. Was okay. Serving size small. Wouldn't order again. Got the chicken tenders in old bay/honey sauce and they were delicious. Also had a steak (perfectly cooked and seasoned) that came with Cole slaw (yum) and the most delicious green beans. Very impressed. Also had the Chesapeake chicken sandwich (no roll) and the chicken was good. Crabcake on top not great. The sweet potato fries were fabulous (way better than the Looneys North location). Overall a good meal. The servers attentiveness and friendly manner would easily have us return to try other food. We love to come here for the bands and food. But we've tried to come by boat and there are often docking issues. No response from the dispatcher and can't get slip info which makes it difficult and confusing. I would recommend an experienced adult to manage the slip assignments because it can be overwhelming during busy hours. The young adults do their best but it's a lot to handle. read more

Some family and I visited on Memorial Day. The outdoor area was packed but there were plenty of empty tables indoors, yet we still experienced an hour-long wait for indoor seating. Not sure if they were short staffed or if there was a back up in the kitchen. There was a live band playing outdoors and it was SO loud and the sound carried throughout the inside of the restaurant, making it difficult for conversation. We started with the crab pretzel, which was tasty but had very little crab. For our main courses, we ordered salads and chicken tenders. The salads were on the smaller side, and the tenders seemed like standard frozen ones, not particularly impressive. On a positive note, our server was fantastic, very attentive and friendly, even while handling most of the indoor section. First time coming here and i was pretty surprised with how spacious the place was. Someone was having a birthday party so it was packed. They had live music which is always a plus. Loonasea is a nice area with both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the water. There is also more than one bar inside and one outside. Service has been good for the 4 times in which I have visited this restaurant. The food is good and decently priced. I love the Caesar salad, old bay wings, boom boom shrimp and the crab dip! The drinks could be a little better; they aren't strong at all. They almost taste as if no alcohol is present. However, they had a lady selling Jell-O shots (only one time that I went) and they were delicious! read more

I visited Loon A Sea as part of a going away gathering for my boss. I left pretty impressed with how they handled the large party. My first impression of Loon A Sea was that it is massive inside. They were easily able to accommodate our party of 30+ and still continue service as normal. The food was out quickly despite the number of people. This was something I didn't expect. Part of how they handled this large party is by using a limited menu. My coworker worked with Loon A Sea to customize a menu for the evening. This was a great idea that helped both the business and patrons. I ordered the Brussel Sprouts which typically come with bacon and cheese and they were able to customize them for me. The portion was huge and the sprouts were excellent. I love that they were charred and crispy without being overdone. I also had some of my coworkers fries. I felt these were well done as well. Overall, just looking at the menu, Loon A Sea doesn't seem to be a place I'd frequent because they don't have a lot of vegan options. But with fries and Brussel Sprouts on the menu, at least there is something for me when my place of employment inevitably winds up celebrating there again. read more

We visited during one of the first weeks of Loon A Sea opening. As big fans of Looney's establishments, we looked forward to checking out this bar by the water. The service was slow and I do not blame them, there simply was not enough staff for all the tables, so we had to wait 1 hour before a table can be open. But they were very good communicators, recording our names, and texting us when a table would be ready. The staff said that reserving tables will be a feature available in the future, so that should help improve the rate of service. Parking, oooof! Parking was tough. There is a shared parking lot by Loon A Sea and Crazy Tuna, but it is first come first serve. There was another parking lot, but you had to pay $20 to get a $20 coupon for Crazy Tuna. I really hope the parking situation can be improved! Ambience was excellent, we loved the live music, we loved the decorations and vibes of this bar by the water, it was beautiful! And the food was DELICIOUS! I loved the Mac and cheese and I ordered a chilly Baja Blast drink, a delicious cocktail version of the Taco Bell Baja Blast. We will be back again soon! Wow. What a place! What a Great Leap Forward from the prior establishment housed here. Four of us converged for Friday lunch at the bar on a balmy November day. Bartenders were courteous, attentive and thorough. The house has a lunch special too good not to try. Well, almost. We passed on the $1 oysters. For the very reasonable sum of $12 you have a choice of a bowl of soup and a half sandwich. Soup choices today were MD Crab, Cream of Crab, Oyster Stew and the Soup du Jour. Seafood salad, shrimp salad and BLT were among the sandwich choices. Among the four of us we ordered two MD crab, one cream o' crab and one oyster stew, three shrimp salad and one BLT. The plates included a pickle and a generous heap of kettle chips. All soups were generous with oyster and crab while the shrimp salad Sammie's had a huge amount of shrimp with very little mayonnaise and fillers. Very satisfying and a huge value! Atmosphere is casual and scenic as we were overlooking Middle River. I know I'll be back for lunch soon with a friend who craves shrimp salad sammies! Recommend. Short ribs didn't look like ribs at all. A plate of cubed meat served over a mountain of bland mashed potatoes swimming in jarred gravy. Land and sea kabobs obviously frozen, then thawed then tossed on a grill. Uneven cook and the steak was too tough to eat. Too many menu items. Focus on basic items and cook them well. A bit pricey but not totally outrageous for that area. All 3 food orders were delish. The jerk tuna app comes with 3 large pieces of fresh tuna. Only complaint is only 1 of the 3 pieces of tuna actually had jerk seasoning on it. Hot crab dip was large and had big pieces of crabmeat in it. Came with bread, carrots, and celery. Fried rockfish sandwich was fresh and also a large portion. Definitely a place I will go again for lunch or dinner. Not somewhere I'd want to drink a lot at because of the prices, but their specialty drinks were tasty at least. They have orange crushes on tap, though we didn't try that. read more

Coming in, we were greeted right away. There was a short wait so we grabbed a drink at the bar. The table was ready fast and we sat and ordered an appetizer pretty quickly. The space is large inside with a stage to have live music. Outside is a sprawling deck with a full bar overlooking the water and a second stage. The staff was curious and knowledgeable. We ordered tuna ceviche which was very good. I had the fish sandwich which was pretty good, not overly battered. (Sorry forgot to take pics of the food lol) my partner had the smash burger and it was very good. Overall LoonAsea is beautiful and spacious. The water atmosphere makes you feel like you are on a beach. The food and drinks were delicious, but they did take a while to get to our table. We did have a large party, and our waitress was amazing, but again we had to wait for food. They also had many gluten free options which is a plus. This won't deter me from going back, but be mindful it's a new spot still working out the kinks. read more

New spot from the Looneys owners in the Riverwatch location. Ambiance, layout, and decor is a big 5. Feels how waterfront locations should feel. So many TV'S, both inside and out, which be a big hit on game days. Staff is good, still figuring things out, which is fine on their first day. The food leaves a bit to be desired (3.5 stars). Conch fritters were a lot of dough though good flavor, both the bun and tortilla were not prep'd (just straight outta the bag, not warmed or toasted), seafood salad sammie was good but had to ask for the lettuce and tomato. Most sides are bagged/frozen, the home-made mac and cheese was a good choice. The bathrooms had cup holders in both men's and women's (!) but no hooks for bags/purses under the bar. And the stage for live music looks great, hope they book a wide variety of acts to entertain the house. read more

Went back for a second time to see if things had improved. Well, yes they have. Service was still very good. Band was too loud for the size of the venue. Now comes the food. Mussels were plentiful, a huge serving big enough for 4 as an appetizer. They were tasty in a butter sauce. I've had better but have also had much worse. I had rockfish tacos, very good. My son had a crab pretzel. It had just enough heat in the crab dip topping to make it spot on. My husband's fish and chips were a respectable portion and quite tasty. If I had one criticism it would be that there was some sand in the mussels, they could have been cleaned better. Worth visiting again, just not while a rock band is blasting. read more

It pains me to give them 2 stars because I love looney's, but my first impression of loon a sea wasn't great. We came here July 3 around 6:30 pm and walked in to see that there were tables open, so we assumed we would get seated. Well we were wrong. The hostess said they weren't adding any more people to the wait list because the kitchen was "backed up." I was definitely disappointed but we decided to grab a drink at the bar before heading over to crazy tuna. The bar had quite a few open seats but the bartenders were not attentive to us at all. We practically had to wave them down to ask for a drink and they seemed almost annoyed that they had to take our order. We just ended up having the one drink and leaving. I get that they just opened but I was really expecting better. I will say that I love the renovations they've done to the building and that the security guard who stamped us when we came in was really nice and hilarious. read more

Loon A Sea is really fun. The live music is always great, and the venue is a vibe. They decorate for holidays and have tons of really good seasonal cocktails every season...lots of TVs for sporting events....The staff is really nice, attentive and accommodating. That being said, the food is okay - some of it is really good and some we would never order again. But we will definitely go there again and again despite it not being our favorite. It's like elevated bar food, so we have brought lots of guests there for the overall experience and get mixed reviews on the dinners themselves. Loon A Sea has great chicken strips and fries, good soups, we like their salmon dinner and have enjoyed several sandwiches. The short ribs have tasted inedibly old, the fish and chips have been mostly breading, the corned beef has had mixed reviews though the Reuben is decent. They had a great Jamaican inspired salad during restaurant week but a subpar steak. So although you may be rolling the dice on an amazing dinner, you will rarely will you have bad food and will always have a nice ambiance and a decent price. read more

OK went for lunch last Thursday by boat. Atmosphere is a total 5 that's for sure. They got rid of all the nasty Riverwatch junk and upped it 100x better. Sat at the inside bar and ordered 2 ice teas, it was Noon. The bartender said she needed a credit card, What???. Told her we would be paying cash. She said its policy, Really??? So, a retired couple comes in and sits at bar for lunch and Loonasea thinks they are going to skip on the bill. Give me a break. I can understand in the evening when the bar is packed but there were about 10 people at the entire bar. Policy here needs to change. Food was ok. I had shrimp salad and hubby had New York Rueben. He did love the Rueben and said it was very tender corn beef. The food menu is in a font of about 6 so bring your glasses. This is ridiculous! Bartender never asked us if we wanted refill on our ice teas. I guess Loonies doesn't do that either. Dockhand was a bit slow when we walked out on pier to leave. Since there were only 3 boats there, he should have been right at the boat helping us get untied. So, I think the customer service needs some help. It will be a bit before we go back and try again. Bill was $52 with tip (no alcohol at all) so a bit pricey for lunch. read more

awful!!!! I do not know who is in the kitchen, but they do not know how to cook anything. My clams casino was awful. It was a enormous clam with shredded cheddar jack cheese on top.. No flavor whatsoever and not even the proper way to make clams casino. Continuing onto prime rib special for 12 ounce prime rib for $24.99. And it came with a baked potato loaded. My choices for the prime rib was grilled or blackened. I am not a blackened girl and my fault for assuming that it would be seared on the flat top after a slow roast . I ordered it medium rare and it came out well done. At this point, I didn't want to send it back because I had already sent back the Clams Casino and I don't usually complain about food unless it is terrible and not edible. My husband and two other people who are with us both got Smashburger. They weren't even asked how they wanted those cooked. And they came out charred. overall, this is not a place that I would go back to for anything. Four of us sat together and not one of us. with anything that we ordered. The second time at the outside table the service was extremely slow 30mins before even asking if we wanted a drink (beer) and another 25mins before we got one.
