    Crabcake eggrolls

We went here with another couple and we all enjoyed everything. Crabcake eggrolls were super yummy! Gulf shrimp entree had HUGE shrimp. Service was OK but server seemed young and new - we went when they had just opened. The restaurant itself has an older feel - it could be a little more lively. Theres still off track betting so the focus is on the TVs.

We made a reservation on Open Table and requested a quiet table. The restaurant is located in the center of the grandstand building at the fairgrounds. There is an elevator at either end that you can take to access the 2nd floor where the restaurant is located. As soon as we arrived, opened the door, and stepped into the restaurant, we knew that having a quiet dinner inside would not be possible. The noise level was so high - everyone was having to raise their voices to communicate with each other. I will never understand why restaurants do not do anything to mitigate the noise - this restaurant has all hard surfaces. My mistake was in thinking that this was a restaurant, when in fact it is a sports bar that serves food. It is a very large space surrounded by TV's and beyond noisy. When the hostess finally arrived, I asked her if there was a quiet table inside, and she agreed that there was not. So, we decided to eat outside on the grandstand concourse. Thankfully, it was not too hot, but at least we could hear each other speak. We had to wait a while while she seated other parties that arrived after us for her to come and clean off a table. She did that - put down place mats, gave us the specials menu and their regular menu and told us that Ethan would be our server. After a bit of time, Ethan did come out and asked us what we wanted to drink. We asked for water with lemon and the wine list. We also told him we needed silverware. Our friends had yet to arrive. He came back with the water and the wine/drink list which had no prices on it, and he was unable to tell us the prices of the wine. Our friends arrived and we debated as to whether we stay or go. We decided to stay and try the food. Ethan, our server, did a good job. My husband ordered the Hot Beef on white bread with French fries with gravy on the side. He was very pleased with his choice. I had the Shrimp Salad on a Brioche roll with lettuce and tomato with French fries and a pickle. The shrimp salad was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Our friend ordered the Soft Crab sandwich only to told that they were out of them, so she changed to a Shrimp Salad sandwich and her husband ordered a bowl of the half Maryland Crab and half Cream of Crab soup. After the food arrived, the only problem we encountered here was that we had no silverware to eat with, and Ethan had to go get some, which took a long time to get. When he returned, he explained that they were out of silverware, and he had to wait to get clean ones. All in all, we liked the food. Will we come back? - not likely!

What a great meal! We made our way to this new location of Costas Inn for a Sunday evening dinner. Though we had made reservations, we didn't need them as there were many available tables when we arrived. Landon was our server and she was excellent. We ordered water and as soon as it arrived put in our order. We each had crab soup and both the size of the cup and bowl were bigger than other restaurants. The soup was tasty with lots of vegetables and lump crab meat. I ordered the soft shell crab platter with fries and apple sauce. The others in my party had crab cakes and they looked and tasted very good. My soft shell crabs were big and meaty with a light coating. I opted to take my fries home so that I could get the rice pudding for dessert and it was wonderful. The rice was just the right consistency and very creamy. The meal was wonderful and it was a nice location, relatively close to home. I'm looking forward to returning here soon and I highly recommend visiting for wonderful food and service.

Full house during Thursday lunch hour! Very encouraging to see this house is catching on! The excellent? Server aka waiter was over the top and very attentive during this visit with my buddies and me. Ambiance? Hospitable and inviting. Food? Cream of crab was ok. Very thick and dense with Sherry. Other than that, tasty and abundant with crab. I loved the half n half at my flagship visit with soon to be extended family a few weeks ago! Entrees are abundant! Loved my Costas cheeseburger though a tad overcooked. One buddy had the open faced roast beef Sammy with fries and gravy. He enjoyed it and gave me an idea for my next visit. My other buddy ordered the cheesesteak. I don't know if he asked for provolone as the sub came out with American. Still enjoyable. I had the cheesesteak the last time with these guys and the meat was a little dry yet tasty. May need to revisit this one as well. So glad Costas is catching on at the track. I'll be back soon and very soon!! Recommend!

My server Mark was so nice, friendly and funny. The food was really good. I was thrown off because the Mac and cheese wasn't what I'm used to I thought it would be baked but let me tell you something do not judge a book by its cover that Mac and cheese is GOOD SO GOOD!! I loved my mussels as well, def recommend this spot.

Came here opening night and this place makes you truly feel like family. - A million TV's, great music, great food for a family restaurant. Having never even been to the original location, I highly recommend the Pit Beef Classic and was pleasantly surprised and loved the bite of the horseradish mayo. - Apparently they never fry in Non-Trans Fat oil and you can definitely tell a huge difference in their food. - The restaurant is located on the second floor up an elevator inside the racetrack and my wife and I had a beautiful walk back down to our car watching the sunset on the fair grounds. - Service was 10/10 and literally all the staff went out of their way to check on us constantly throughout our meal and made us feel apart of the family! Glad to give them their 1st review on yelp!

Nothing says girls' night out like great cocktails, delicious seafood, and lots of laughter, and…read moreBlueStone checked every box. During my recent trip back to Baltimore, my friends and I made reservations for four on a Saturday night. I'll admit, I was convinced my GPS had failed me when it led me into a business park. Just when I was ready to question my phone's navigation , BlueStone appeared like a hidden gem. The restaurant was large and looked upscale from the outside with plenty of free parking, making the first impression even better. We were seated immediately, and the hostess greeted us with a genuine smile that made us feel right at home. The ambiance is warm and inviting with a perfect blend of casual elegance. There are several dining spaces throughout the restaurant, including private rooms that would be ideal for birthdays, rehearsal dinners, or other special occasions. Our server was attentive without hovering and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our evening. We kicked things off with cocktails, including a French 75, White Cosmo, and Blackberry Bandit. Every drink was expertly crafted, but the French 75 was the undeniable star of the night, I enjoyed it so much I ordered a second. When it came to dinner, my friends all chose the crab cake entrée and they all enjoyed their food ( they are locals), proving that Bluestone knows exactly what they are doing when it comes to a well made crab cake. I ordered the Ocean & Gulf entrée. My dish included a jumbo lump crab cake, deep-sea scallops, and Gulf shrimp served over forbidden black rice with sautéed vegetables in a honey garlic beurre blanc. Every component was cooked perfectly, and the flavors blended together so well that each bite felt like a little celebration. It was one of those meals where the conversation pauses because everyone is too busy enjoying the food. As if dinner wasn't enough, we finished with Taharka Brothers Honey Graham and Vanilla Bean ice cream. It was creamy, rich, and the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. BlueStone exceeded my expectations from the moment I pulled into the parking lot until the last spoonful of dessert. Great service, good prices, decent portions and expertly prepared food and cocktails. Definitely an atmosphere that's perfect for everything from date night, a family celebration, to a girls' night out. This has officially earned a spot on my list of must visit restaurants every time I come back to Baltimore.

Sunday 5pm Fathers Day…read more Server : Jake We were on our way to Hampden for ice cream but missed our exit and landed in Timonium. The first place that came to mind was Bluestone. It was busy because of the holiday but Bluestone has a lot of seating. I asked the 3 girls at the front for a table with good lighting. The hostess didn't hesitate and we were seated immediately. There was a Fathers Day special of 2 separate entrees . Our Server Jake told us the Steak was sold out . That's pretty good for them. Sounds like I should try the steak another day if they have it. I wanted a small plate and Jake gave me 3 recommendations: BANG bang shrimp, mini crab cakes, & Crab Spinach dip. I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp and the beet salad. This was another "live in the moment" dinner for me. I am deciding to be more deliberate about enjoying my food and not taking as many pics. Everyone on Yelp has the same pics of the same food. The beet salad was so good. Very appealing plate. The Bang Bang Shrimp were swimming in sauce but still tasty. I really wanted to try a new red wine Jake recommendations were : JEZEBEL & Alta Pavina. I chose the Alta Pavina (a high alcohol content you may only need 1). I wasn't feeling like a Jezebel on Sunday and decided to wait for a Friday night for that red wine.

Got 1.5 lb crawfish boil, Cajun seasoned, hottest spice level…read more I used to live in NOLA, so I know what a Cajun crawfish boil should be. The Bad: - not spicy enough - flavor is not boiled into the critters, sucking the heads does not yield that spicy, umami-laden crawfish broth. Same goes for flavor in the tail meat. Redeeming factor here is that there was a giant pool of seasoning in the bottom of the bag that the meat, heads, potatoes could be dipped into. - many of the crawfish were small - took a long time to get the check The Neutral: - flavor profile is skewed too far toward Old Bay (unsurprising, considering it's Maryland) - cute, that it's served with drawn butter, pick, shell cracker, and bib/gloves - they don't purge their crawfish - there was a hint of sweetness in the seasoning - music was a bit loud so it'd be difficult to hold a dinner conversation This was nowhere near authentic as a Cajun crawfish boil. As one with a northeastern spin, it was pretty ok. I'd recommend it, for anyone who hasn't had a true, Louisiana crawfish boil to compare to.
