Behind the park is the Garden Grove Activities center, and a separate large Children's Adventure center that kids can go play in for $2 fee. They appear to try and keep it maintained, but there's many large patches of muddy soil from the rain, and dry patches without grass. There's ONE large covered shelter area with benches to have lunch.

Bathrooms are clean enough and decently well stocked. Parents can grab a seat on one of many benches and there is good visibility as the kids run from area to area. There are baby and regular swings, and one big flat disk that you can lay down on. There are also spider web ropes for climbing. The softball fields are great for running the bases in between games, or flying a kite in the outfield. We tend to come in the evenings when it's cold so we haven't had a chance to use the splash pad but the structures in the area are still available for climbing. Solid choice for running off some kid energy.

There are various swing sets here of different styles fit for different ages. There was ample parking. Many of the areas are shaded. The bad: We came upon opening hours and the gate wasn't open yet. People opened it around 7 minutes late. My husband and I were about to leave but luckily stood around trying to make phone calls for long enough that someone eventually came and opened the gate. Inside has several playground area and two large areas with picnic tables. We were only there for the splash pad. It's much smaller than Sigler and the kids got bored easily. The only advantage I see is if you throw a gathering and have your party hang out at the picnic tables. Then they are free to room Atlantis which we didn't explore. The splash pad is open until mid October for the season.

The play area is turf and surrounded by picnic tables and Adirondack chairs, with plenty of shade. The design is thoughtful and makes for a great place to spend an afternoon. The parking is free and right next to the play area. It feels secluded and somehow also right in the middle of everything. The only thing missing is a bathroom and while I understand that it's prevent homeless people from moving in, it does limit the amount of time that anyone can hang out here (especially with littles). Still a nice place to enjoy a coffee or picnic and let the kiddos play.

Parking is easy with a large lot right next to the lake, opposite of the lake are some hiking trails if you have more time. It's a nice loop going around with some different areas along the way such as a small creek, reeds near the shore, and some water works that looks like they have been turned off or no longer function. Even in Winter there are a lot of different birds around. My kids loved following and chasing the large pelicans in the lake. You can fish here and there are children's fishing competitions. Just keep in mind to have a permit because when we went there was a police officer checking and ticketing people.
