Average diner food, but above average pies. Ok soups. My problem with this place is how they treat you. If you're a local they're nice to you, but I've gone in there too many times and have been given the cold shoulder. Good, honest cheap diner food. Reliable. Standard diner fare. Good breakfast, good lunch, good dinner. You can get anything here from a fried egg sandwich to a lobster tail. Its like stepping back in time going to the Bowmanstown Diner...in both setting and prices. I brought some people from San Francisco here and they were amazed at the prices. They actually thought it was a joke...like a menu from 20 years ago. Thats how cheap it is. Some of my favorite things: cheesesteak omelet, egg salad sandwhich, cheesesteak, black diamond steak, roast pork sandwhich with gravy and fries. Don't forget to order the gravy fries here. Whatever you do, don't forget. Their french fries are handcut and fried to perfection. Gravy is just a bonus. And the diner serves RC Cola. And Diet. How many places serve RC??? Be warned - the place gets packed around 2 am on Friday and Saturday when the bars close. It is drunken chaos but the waitresses are used to it and handle it as well as they can. It just seems best to avoid it at that time but it you're in the Lehighton/Palmerton area at 2 am and want to eat, its either the Bowmanstown Diner or Mcdonalds. My husband went there years ago, so we decided to check it out. His French onion soup had no flavor, neither did the gravy fries. The bread on his ham & cheese was stale & my chicken sandwich was bland & dry. The server was also not friendly at all. Will not be back. read more

This place was really excellent! It was very clean, the food was well priced, and the waitstaff was very friendly. I had the baked chicken, filling, corn, and a side salad. The kids had a burger and BLT. All the food was tasty. Be sure to sit in the front part of the restaurant (rather than the dining room) to get the charm of a classic diner. read more

Awesome Diner ! The waitresses are so nice and friendly. They make you feel very comfortable. The food is very good quality and delicious and the prices are so reasonable. Extremely unfriendly service. My 8-year-old ordered apple juice, and they charged almost $3 for it. Our server told my 10-year-old daughter that they weren't serving ice water and that she'd need to order a soda or iced tea, despite the fact that my 8-year-old and I had already ordered drinks. (??) I get it that's a good way for them to up-charge, but really... Ended up paying $38 for 1 adult & 2 kids (before tip). They don't have kids meals. Food was okay. Sandwiches, fries, & onion rings for the kids. I got the meatloaf special. Not bad, but nothing special and definitely not worth the rude service. I left a decent tip, mostly because I felt bad that business must be so bad that they need to milk every dime out of every customer, but I won't be going back anytime soon! Nice, old fashioned diner. The food is always good. Only issue is, they stop serving breakfast at 11:30 on Sundays, and our church (as most) don't let out until then. Cant stand attitude. People here are very rude. Sitting here now and I been driving since 4am, I had a dunkin donuts coffee and wanted to throw it away. I noticed there was no trash outside so its sitting here on the table. And the one waitress makes a loud comment about people not knowing to not bring coffee from outside in. First of all it wasn't coffee and pretty sure they dont have chai tea. Not everyone drinks coffee. But I'm not even drinking. Hate that. People don't know what's going on in my life and then make rude comments. Little do they know I'm a veteran and nursing student and care for people all the time. Found this lovely diner through Yelp. First let me say ask for Liz as she was an awesome waitperson. My date ordered the western omelette and loved it. Could not eat the whole thing as it was huge. I had scrambled egg well done and crispy bacon cooked just right. Original tabasco sauce a must and they have it. Nice coffee and they kept my glass full. Service was Ok but it was obvious that if you weren't a local you weren't their favorite. The food was typical small town diner food. Not great but not awful either. My family & I really enjoy eating here. We really enjoy the dinner specials that they have. When you order them they come out really quickly. Some of my favorites are the Fresh Breaded Haddock, Broiled Haddock, Broiled Scallops, Chicken & Turkey to name a few. My best friend really enjoys their Pork & Sauerkraut. During the day, they are really good... French fries are fantastic... Just don't go here later on at night... We got overly greasy burgers, enough to make the bun soggy with grease... same with the French fries... Asked them to throw them back in the fryer for a few more minuets, and we got told they won't, and that is they way the fries always are..... funny, I know they are fresh cut, which are generally a bit more greasy but not usually enough to make a grease slick on the plate... Even at home I can make fresh cut fries more crispy and less greasy, and I have a cheap fryer.... Servers eating right behind the counter out in the open.. isn't that what lunch breaks are for?? I came here to refuel after Spartan race. I don't expect much from a diner so hence my high rating for the place. I had the cheesesteak sandwich which was fairly good-- although I could've heated it myself from the frozen aisle. The burger steak platter (or something similar) with gravy was bland and too tough to eat. Their hamburgers are like hamburgers you cook at your bbq which isn't bad at all for its price. Stopped here for breakfast many times. The food has always been great. The service is quick and the waitresses have always been attentive. Coffee refills etc. The only negative about this place is the prices have risen dramatically. I had 2 eggs, scrapple, home fries, and toast. The bill was like $9 and a $3 tip. Nine dollars is a lot for a two egg breakfast. I would have given five stars if this place wasn't pricing itself out of business. Also, the old diner style booth seats are old and lumpy and you have to kinda figit around to get comfortable. Plus, they don't serve breakfast after 12 on Sunday.(2pm weekdays) The irony of this is that you can order an egg and bacon on toast sandwich anytime. But you can't order bacon and eggs separately. I typically like small town diner food and atmosphere. Being from out of town I wanted to try this local experience. Eating at this place has changed my mind! Upon arriving the waitress was pleasant. Once seated, the waitress took our order and I noticed her looking at a small cold sore I happened to have on my lip, I had a very small amount of medicated ointment on it, she most definitely noticed! She proceeded to walk about 2 feet away from me and tell another waitress to "look over there that woman has something on her lip, it's white". The other waitress looked over at me and they both chuckled about it. Normally this wouldn't bother me but I was self conscious about the sore and was not expecting someone to be so obviously rude as to point it out. When the waitress came back to the table I confronted her about it and she just stammered and walked away. She then sent the other waitress over to serve us . The second waitress was not friendly and didn't seem to care to serve us. I ordered a cheeseburger, which I did enjoy. My gravy fries were served without gravy. I went there for the gravy fries! Once we got the bill the waitress didn't remember what we ordered! What customer service! I totally agree with previous reviews that refer to locals being treated better, this place does not like tourist! I will NOT be back. Get a new job ladies! read more

The food here is decent and the prices are good. However if you arent a "local" be prepared to be ignored and not attended to very well. Several years ago I had taken a small group of 8 seniors to this establishment and was told that they are to busy with the regulars to have a group during the lunch hour.
