One of the best diners in the area. I come up regularly to the Mahoning Drive-In and this diner is our favorite to go to in the morning for breakfast. They are only open until 2 pm and they serve breakfast all day. Delicious food and great service to boot!

This was my first visit to Country View Diner. It was a Saturday at 1:00pm. I took a seat at the counter, following the sit where you want policy. I was greeted by a very chipper staff who engaged with each other with fun banter the whole time. This happened to me at a different restaurant once and they both said the same thing, "You get a dinner and a show." I ordered the Cowboy Burger which came with mushrooms and onions. I also opted for steak fries. I enjoyed my meal while listening to the banter. No television or music to interfere with "the show." Everything was fantastic. I don't have much luck with fries but these were prepared well. When I walked in, I had plans for a Pumpkin Spice cake but there was no room for that. I paid at the window near the entrance/exit and went on my merry way.

Three of us ordered Thai chicken and my wife ordered the Bangkok bowl. The ingredients were fresh and carefully selected, as the dish had a slightly sweet curry sauce on it. The chicken thigh was on top of a bed of short grain brown rice appropietly cooked for the dish. Veggies such as broccoli and eggplant were around the edges. The Bangkok bowl was slightly different as the samosas had a fair amount of heat to them. The waiter recommended mixing them with the rice and fried chickpeas, which worked well. For dessert, the rose and cardamom coffee glee had little rose flavor. I asked and they said it was infused as well as the garnish on top, but I failed to taste it. Ditto for the chocolate orange ganache, in which I could not taste the orange flavor. No points lost, the deserts were still better than average, not too sweet. Service was very good, the waiter loved to inform us of what to expect. Also, it was a good place for four of us to sit at a table and enjoy a conversation.

The only downside is the wait times, very long to get sat, even for folks who did have reservations, and then a very long wait for the food, for getting the bill, etc. likely just a bit understaffed but something to be mindful of if you're in a rush. It was a bit pricier than I would have expected but not horrible. Overall a very nice spot for a date night.

The staff insists that "it's well worth the wait," but the real question is: is waiting over an hour for food truly worth it? After placing our breakfast order around 10:40 AM, we eagerly anticipated a plate of fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon, but alas, time marched on. In fact, it marched so slowly that I'm convinced we slipped into an alternate universe, where time doesn't exist and food is just a mythical creature. By 11:45 AM, we were staring at the menu again, now featuring lunch items, and questioning whether breakfast is merely a figment of our imaginations. To make matters worse, the entire experience felt like a tourist trap--no pun intended--where dreams and appetites go to die. You know it's bad when you start contemplating whether the omelet and pancakes you ordered actually requires a passport to arrive. By leaving time (6pm) we contemplated making a pit stop on our way back to see if they were finally prepping our breakfast, we had resigned ourselves to the cold reality of gnawing on our own disappointment. Don't get me wrong; I appreciate a good mystery, but I didn't sign up for "Where's My Breakfast?" as the main feature of my day. So, if you're looking for a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal that may or may not arrive before dinner service, this gem is for you. But for me? I'll be sticking to an actual looking glass, where at least I know the reflection of my breakfast is not just a cruel joke. Never again. Nope. Edit** we walked down the road to Antonio's pizza, the place was packed but Magee to find one empty table. Upon sitting down our order was taken within 2min. Our food then took 10min until it came out. We were blown away! Antonio's for the win!
