It was quite off putting, especially because my husband was literally looking at her with no interest in the furniture, no food or drinks in her hands, not acting rambunctiously, just sitting on a, again, not-cordoned-off chair. No signs that say, "do not touch", "do not sit", or anything. I'm pretty sure if I sat there, it would've been fine and I'm 4 times her weight. After telling off my kid, he went back to ignoring us by the register, not looking up from whatever he was reading. I lost interest in the cases, accessories, and furniture. Dogs on leashes were in the store (no complaint from me; love me some doggoes) and no one was chasing after them to not touch the furniture. Whatever bad experiences they've had with other children is no excuse to embarrass my child or make her feel like she did anything wrong, and yes, the tone clearly made her feel that way despite us cooly, and quietly leaving.

I can't believe I've walked by this shop a million times without going in. Chatted with the store owner who filled us in his travels to Turkey to bring the most interesting Tribal Rugs to the heart of Woodstock. He even went into detail about the weave and the type wool it takes to create a tasteful rug. Ok...Good information. You'll notice Anatolia by all the decorative pillows and small area rugs outside his shop. Inside is small, but loaded- he's been in business for a long time, so we didn't second-guess his expertise. We were also looking for a non-slip pad to go with our rug to place it underneath- but was out of those. He was kind enough to provide us with a binder full of non-slip samples to choose from and if we liked, we can jot down the (800) number to order ourselves. My small Persian rug and the decorative pillow we purchased, are excellent quality and didn't hurt our pockets. I wanted to shop til I dropped and replace some of our imitation Persian rugs with the real deal- but that's not gonna happen just yet.

As others have said, Scott is amazing. Very helpful, knowledgeable, relaxed, patient, and has been amazingly easy to deal with pre and post-sale. We aren't carpet specialists by any means but, being a bit OCD, needing a carpet and living a couple blocks from ABC, have done a decent amount of research online and on each floor of ABC to understand how rugs are made, what goes into the cost, and what was important to us. Ultimately ABC was just too expensive. At Anatolia, we were surprised to spot a rug that was beautiful, hand-knotted, and had the little details (subtle color variations from vegetable dyes made in small batches) that we loved at a much much more affordable price. Scott even made it easy to try it at home to make sure it worked for us. They also had some great antique rugs, but we had already decided that a new one was a better fit for our situation. Overall, a really a surprising and terrific experience. We'll certainly be back and will be recommending them to everyone.

Always found them to be very patient and helpful. The hardware store always has what I need. I used the lumber yard for a deck, with no issues. The prior review complained about handyman references. This is the Catskills. I've gone through roughly a dozen folks here. They all came recommended. They all were a huge disappointment - some after a few jobs, some after one. I've learned never to pay half up front without references, and I've posted to social media those folks who take half up front and disappear. Sadly, it has happened a couple of times. It's not the fault of the establishment thst recommended them.

There isn't so much wrong with Williams Lumber as there is with their recommendations of…read morecontractors. I relied on them to refer me to a contractor to do a roof repair on my home and they only provided me with two names. I went with Joe Remley- Builder/ Contractor or Ashland, NY and it turned out he was not such a good reference. In fact I had an awful experience. Remley required that I give him a down payment of several thousand dollars to have my roof repaired. I paid Remley the money he wanted and never saw him again. He didn't do any of the work he was supposed to do and has not been responsive to phone calls. Joe Remley is not directly affiliated with Ace Hardware/ Williams Lumber, that I know of, but I relied on Ace Hardware/ Williams Lumber to provide me with a reliable contractor and he wound up ripping me off and scamming me out of thousands of dollars with no work done. This is more of a warning to others to watch out for Joe Remley and to not put so much trust into Williams Lumber for contractor references. Very disappointed.
