When I accepted a position at the health clinic in Supai, AZ., I expected it to be challenging. I was told it is very difficult to get fresh produce down to the village here at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The canyon has been closed since the pandemic and most places will not ship to us. Thank goodness for Kim at Boxed Greens!! The first order was a trial and I ordered an assortment of different fruits and vegetables to see how they would do on the Mules. Bananas, tomatoes, and Gala apples were almost liquid but the everything else was perfect and delicious! I let Kim know what worked and what didn't and she was very responsive. My second order came today and the packing team had lovingly snuggled everything together perfectly into one box and even wrapped the tomatoes in bubble wrap. It rode down the trail on the mules then sat in my office all day. Everything was still cold and fresh when I unpacked it tonight!! I almost sang with excitement at the picture perfect beets and chard and assorted peppers. They are at their peak and so tasty!! I am thrilled with Boxed Greens and especially appreciative of Kim for arranging shipment through UPS and packing my orders with such care! I highly recommend Boxed Greens! read more

Terrible company, terrible produce, and abysmal customer service. I ordered a dozen farm fresh eggs, a few avocados, and five pounds of kiwis. they were supposed to ship in one day and took a week to arrive. The eggs were obviously spoiled but I had expected the avo and kiwis to be edible. Turns out the produce they sent me was so overly ripe that it basically deteriorated during shipping and leaked everywhere If you want rotten spoiled fruits, vegetables, and eggs then boxed greens is perfect for you. When I reached out for a ref, they refunded me for the items but failed to refund me for the $40 shipping cost. I fail to see how it's my fault that their company sent me spoiled produce and eggs then took a week to deliver the package. read more

I was so looking forward to a rather large haul I had ordered from Box Greens. It was my very first order. The FedEx ground service I paid for was rather steep. The 1st time FedEx attempted delivery they sent an email stating my address was incorrect/inaccurate. I checked the address I placed on my order with Boxed Greens- it was correct. I checked the delivery address for FedEx and the house number where I live was missing. I emailed Boxed Greens explaining the situation. I stated to them that FedEx needs to be held accountable. Obviously, someone left off my house number which is essential in getting anything delivered to my address. I spoke to FedEx explaining the situation. They stated no address change could be made when package is "out for delivery". They said it had to be in transit. Made no sense to me but that's their policy. I received an email on Friday stating that the package had been delivered at 4:11 p.m. I was so excited! I checked the front porch and the back driveway area. Nothing there! Called FedEX again. I was livid. Told customer service rep. I want to take this as high as I could go. He sent me a pic of my house asking me is this where package is to be delivered. I said yes. From that day to this my box has never been located. Did some research on FedEx station my package was to be delivered from. Reviews indicated botched deliveries aplenty. Boxed greens was good about working with me. However, I still have not received a refund. I won't be using their service again. My suggestion to Boxed Greens is get another carrier!!!! One star too many. DO NOT BUY, consider yourselves warned! I ended up keeping some squashes and oranges, the rest I had to throw out. It already smelled like rotten produce! Extremely not fresh, the worst produce I have ever gotten. Strawberries for $7.99 a pound were smelling sour, and were mushy and rotten. Disgusting. If you don't keep inventory then where do you get this stuff? I am concerned with First off, selection. What's marked is from Mexico mostly, bagged carrots and broccoli are from California. Here's what I got in a large seasonal box in addition to what I have already mentioned: 2 zucchinis, a butternut squash, Russet potatoes, 5 very soft grapefruits, a pound of Brussel sprouts, and pineapple and red onion with straight up visible GREY FUZZY MOLD on them. There were a couple of delicata squashes and apples and pears. I have not tried those yet but they look ok. I also purchased additionally the dreadful strawberries that still make my stomach churn and three sour cucumbers, three individual bananas(they don't sell by the bunch, rather than by the pound) and finally, two pounds of Yukon Gold potatoes. Take a look at the Russet and Yukon Gold bags side by side and tell me if you can spot a single difference. Because I can't. Other than the Sharpie marker label written on the package. Do you take the produce from the dumpster behind the grocery store and then package it in your garage? I attached the image from their poorly built basic website that made me not want to buy, but I was curious and ordered anyway. As someone with mobility issues I order online not as a convenience, but as a necessity. Taking it back is not an option for me. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! And their 'Our Guarantee' means NOTHING! Chad Stevens is of No Assistance and obviously does not care! The box delivered was disgusting - smelled of expired produce - the packaging was literally unbelievable? BAD!!! The Berries were Old - Mushy and Fuzzy! The bananas were not fresh and browned and bruised - the apples were all old - damaged - bruised and smelly. The oranges are not appealing even to look at, or smell- As I told Chad Stevens - I really thought I was being PUNKED! But he didn't seem to be bothered - and only because I continued to email - right after the box was delivered - did I supposedly receive a whole $45.00 credit - for an order that I was charged over $200.00 - PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! The quality of the produce I got was not great, local grocery store is better organic quality. 2 of the items were actually molded / expired, but they refunded that quickly when I provided photos. But 2 items weren't available and weren't included in the box. They kept insisting that I hadn't been charged for them because they weren't shipped, but I was charged the full amount when I placed the order, and was never refunded the difference when it shipped. They claimed that shopify only paid them for the items they shipped but that's not my problem - it is their responsibility to fix how much I was charged even if it was through shopify since it is their store. Words cannot describe how amazing and wonderful Boxed Greens is. In the midst of this awful situation, they have far exceeded my expectations with organic produce and delivery of groceries in general. I received my first box order today and pretty much cried when I opened it. (Literally.) I didn't realize how I'd taken such small things for granted until this quarantine situation. I also didn't realize how many LOCAL companies offer such incredible products that could be picked up or delivered right to your door! Boxed Greens is one such place and I can tell you right now, you NEED to get your produce here, not just in this situation, but for good! (I will now never go elsewhere for produce, guaranteed!) Each item was lovingly tucked into separate bags inside the styrofoam lined, ice packed box. The vegetables were not only still chilled, but honestly the most beautiful veggies I've ever seen. (I am a professional photographer and these veggies and fruits were camera worthy, I kid you not. I've done shoots with produce in the past and have struggled to find produce of this caliber to shoot, let alone eat.) I was honestly flabbergasted at the time and effort the staff puts into selecting each piece of produce to put in. Not one piece was damaged, bruised, or mistreated. Not one. The quality FAR EXCEEDS any grocery store in this area, Whole Foods, Basha's and Fry's, I've tried them all. (I've included a picture of some of the bounty, sorry, I will grab more shots next delivery to add!) The romaine was by far the biggest head I've seen by far. Not wilty, not crushed, it looked like it came straight from the garden. The celery was the same way...I could go on and on, but you get the picture. I know that the salad tonight, our first in more than a month since I'm petrified to go out and shop...will be amazing. The rest of the carrots and potatoes and all will go into an amazing roast beef later this week. I really cannot thank the folks at Boxed Greens enough for their caring and dedication to their products and business. I appreciate you so much more than your know. I'm a customer for life. Most is good, some, not so much. Once or twice they mixup an item or two, but they correct it. Once we believe their system was hacked, and we got a virus email, that appeared to be from them, sent to an email address only they would know. Other than that, the fruits and vegs. are usually good in quality. As for prices, they can be on the high-side in some areas. Some items are double the price of a grocery store, even when you consider like organic items. A few times we find bargains, and they do have sales on some items. One really confusing part of ordering is the way you order. Sometimes its by the pound, sometimes by the item, and sometimes its not really clear. Fruit is usually sold by pound, so if you order apples say, you can't buy 4 apples, you have to buy in pounds. But, its not always clear. They had ribs, priced per pound, that stated most racks were 3 pounds. So, I ordered "3" figuring it was 3 pounds or a rack, but nope, this time, the number was the number of racks, so we got basically 9 pounds. Its not the end-of-the-world, but they could be clearer in their description of exactly what you are ordering. One final thing. Their delivery charge is based where you live. We are in North Scottsdale, and its about $16. We also get delivery from another food delivery service which happens to be located right near boxed greens in Tempe, and their delivery charge to our address is $10, so Boxed Greens delivery price does seem a bit on the high side. Overall, I think they are a good service, but they could work on a few things. read more
