Dear Aldi, You've been my weekly grocery stop every Thursday, faithfully, without fail. Typically, you'd earn five stars from me. But today left a bitter taste in my mouth. Your cashier, April, is in desperate need of retraining--or removal--from cashier duties altogether. I'm not sure if she's a manager or simply on a power trip, but her attitude at checkout was nothing short of disgraceful. I genuinely feel sorry for any employee who has to work alongside her. This morning, I came in with my one-year-old and my disabled, elderly mother, expecting the same kindness and efficiency I usually receive. Instead, I was met with April's sour expression and clear eagerness to rush me out of her line. Without so much as a word, she began throwing my groceries into a separate cart, completely disregarding the fact that I might want to keep the cart I was using. Every other cashier has been thoughtful enough to let me keep my cart, understanding my circumstances. But April couldn't spare the extra seconds it would've taken. In her haste, she managed to break my eggs and even nagged my disabled mother to hurry and hand over the cart, never once pausing to consider why she might be moving slower than most shoppers. Her behavior was rude, unkind, and thoughtless. Aldi, I urge you to reconsider April's position. She does not represent your values or your loyal customers well. After today, I'm seriously considering taking my business to the new WinCo closer to me instead of driving thirty minutes from South San Tan Valley to shop at your store. read more

Shopping at this location is great until you check out and you have to deal with your groceries getting thrown into the cart! When I say thrown it's literally being tossed into especially when the cashier just started his/her shift! Horrible attitude to customers but sweet and great to the daily shoppers or their own neighbors. Been there about 5/6 times and the attitude we receive is unpleasant! read more

Yay. Yeah yeah yay. Aldie is in the Phoenix area and we couldn't be happier. I really like this store out of California and I'm so glad to see it creeping into Arizona. This is a wonderful store to find all kinds of goodies like trail mixes, nits, chocolates, chips, nutritional bars, organic fruits, yogurts, and other products. I can't quite say for sure, but it's almost like a dollar store meets up with a grocery store. There are some items for the house like cleaning supplies, and storage items; but what you find here is what you find; in other words, it's never the same twice. Lots of goodies if you're just in for the discovery. If you like, finding some goodies at a decent price, give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised. read more

Prices can't be beat and many things I've purchased there are so good - sourdough bread, low sugar yogurt, every thing in the bakery section is fabulous, all the desserts are tasty, the crab legs, shrimp, Burman's sauces, the Specialty vinegarette dressings! Finally gave this place a tryout. Easy parking, shopping carts readily available, bring a quarter. Inside, not at all crowded. Clean and orderly. We'll stocked , but limited choices. Produce looked average, though prices seemed lower. Small packaged meat section. Didn't see anything that interesting. Overall, just wasn't impressed. Spent about $50 on some ice cream, chips and salsa, sandwich buns. Everything tasted good, and feel we got good value, but was hoping for some interesting Euro items. read more

Of all the ALDI locations in Arizona, this one is the best! Always an exceptional selection of unique in-house brands, always stocked well, and very clean/organized. Cashiers always very friendly and is centrally located near a new Costco and a Wal-Mart. One of the first places I go every week when grocery shopping. A+! read more

Come on down to their Grand Opening today! Prices are low like Winco. It's bright and clean, wide aisles with lots of variety and the feel a neighborhood market in the spirit of a Trader Joes and World Market. I'm definitely coming back! read more

I had seen so many commercials for Aldi, I figured I'd better check it out. Have to admit, I wasn't too impressed. Their own store brands were an excellent price, but when it came to other, national, brands, they were higher than many other stores. They do have excellent large pizzas that are quite reasonably priced. The prices are hit and miss as to whether they are a good deal or not. To get a grocery cart, you must put a quarter in the cart handle slot. Then, when you return it, it pushes your quarter back out. Someone in the store told me it saves employee time by not having to gather up carts. read more

Love ALDI it has so many fun and easy items. There are so many good finds that range from drinks and food to furniture and clothes. Although this store is small, it has so much greatness! The AOS aisles especially have all the best items in them that change weekly. The workers there are very friendly and are always willing to help. If you're in town looking for a fun place to shop, ALDI is definitely a wonderful stop! read more

I live right down the road from Aldi and it is super convenient not to mention worth every penny. The prices are amazing, the produce is always fresh! I'd like to make particular shout out to Orlando the store manager. Many times I have gone in there and he has gone out of his way to help me especially when I dropped a carton of eggs or cheese spilling all over the floor and just today I forgot my bags and he gave me a box to carry out my groceries. I will continue to go to Aldi because of the great prices and the incredible customer care! We love this store! read more

We've only shopped here twice when we didn't have something we needed and both times they didn't even have the basic items we were looking for. High prices, low inventory and changed me twice for some ice cream that was pretty terrible. Didn't notice until I got home on the receipt. I'd rather go to Costco once it's open across the street and get double the amount of stuff for probably the same price. read more
