Stood here waiting for almost an hour

Somewhat nice store but staff is far from helpful. Waited in customer service line for literally almost an hour. Seems like they care less about customers. Won't be back, although the store itself has potential.

Just home from the store with the Valentine's big 3.

Came here today to avoid the bad parking situation at my usual Fry's. So, found a nice wide spot, plenty of choices. Got the apples I was looking for, as well as some neat looking lemon plums. Rotiss chicken, a nice fresh lettuce and off to the canned goods for the pantry. Prices blew my mind! Little canned mushrooms for $3.49? Everything seemed about a $1 more per item than Fry's. Didn't buy them. Store still spacious, clean and well stocked though. Tomorrow, The Pork Shop, and an updated review there!

Overall, Albertson's is a pretty good grocery store, especially because they're open until midnight - seven days a week. Having a couple kids in grade school, their hours and convenient location have saved dinners, last minute school projects, and several other situations. On the flip side, they are definitely more expensive than our neighboring Fry's on any given day. They typically run specials which outweigh some of the cost, but it generally works out to a bit more. Their staff has always been helpful and pleasant on our trips here, with managers stepping up and manning additional registers when the lanes start getting packed. Good sized beer cave, complete with domestic, imported, local/regional craft bread and a healthy selection of spirits for any occasion.

The Liqour department has a huge variety to choose from and Trista is always so helpful and accommodating. She's the reason we shop there!

That changed radically recently as I decided to give it another chance as I was in the area and ended up scoring some unexpected and amazing deals. I don't go to HMart in Mesa much anymore as this store has just about everything I need and is so much closer. If you want live seafood, you'll find plenty here. I really like the abundance of fresh vegetables and they're really cheap. I always pick up a kombucha squash to roast for my fur baby too. Tofu prices are the cheapest I've seen so I stock up as I love making mapo tofu and spicy tofu soup. They also have a food court and a bakery inside the store so it's very convenient to grab to go or even eat there as they have a small seating area. I do wish they had more cashiers as the lines are always so long no matter what time or day it is.

They have some…read moreitems here that you won't find at other grocery stores like the many different varieties of hot pot fish/ meat balls. There are certain ice cream bars that I have only been able to find here too like the matcha ice cream bars that use good quality matcha. Some items here can be a bit more expensive so I usually go to my other usual spot instead for majority of things on my list. Was just here on Mother's day and picked up this new ube coconut spread which was $10 for 5.8oz. I would say that is expensive. They did let everyone take a carnation flower home on this day. That was nice. This store is always busy on the weekend. The parking is so bad. It can be difficult to get a parking spot on the busy weekends and people take forever to get in their car and leave the parking spot. Lately, I've been noticing how slow the cashiers are and the lines to pay can get pretty long. They really take their time picking items up, scanning and putting items into the bag. There is no sense of urgency at all. It would help to get some faster cashiers or retrain to improve speed, or even add a self check out area.

I've shopped here for 30 years and tolerated most things purely out of convenience. Today was my breaking point. You would never guess unemployment is approaching 5% with the quality of staff this store hires to care for its customer base. Christina S., the outdoor cart attendant, is rude and argumentative. DeShawn, the manager on duty, stated she is special needs and that somehow excused her unacceptable behavior. She presented herself as very capable and also possessed a snarky vocabulary. DeShawn didn't possess the aptitude to address the complaint properly and needs basic management training. Overall, the service just keeps getting worse. The store is very dirty and outdated. The checkout lanes are rarely properly staffed. In a culture that is profit over people, I do not expect this change. So after 30 years we are breaking up, Alberston's.
