I knew double bluff has an off leash section, but the multiple signs were confusing, especially the ones that say only humans can enter through a certain point. It was nice to see showers and dog washing stations, but the lower ones weren't working, and the main showers only work if you keep pressing. The only bathrooms were portables. It's a long walk to the off leash section, so if you want more room to yourself, you have to go farther. The beach was shallow enough for a long ways. The seaweed closer to the parking lot side of the beach seems to be wasting much of the shoreline, unless it's always like that. There were multiple dry sheets of seaweed throughout the sandy parts, but they can be avoided since the beach front is so vast.

The west entrance has a short downhill path beginning with the whale sighting bell (if you see an orca, you ring it!) and around the middle of the trail, there is a staircase that goes back up to 1st ave. If an orca sighting is found to be nearby, this is where you want to stop to try to have a look. There were several times people have sighted orcas just 25 feet from this park!

There is ample room for running around the structures. There is a paved walkway that kids can also bike on. There is no bathroom. And you can't access the YMCA at all from this side. Not sure they'd let you use theirs anyway. There is no parking lot. The YMCA lot doesn't allow for park parking. You have to park on the street. There is usually close parking available. There is no shade. It gets really hot during the summer. All in all, I like the park for its age range. I wish there was a bathroom. We've had to leave early a bunch of times because we need a bathroom.

An unusual sculpture garden and trail combined into one…read more I enjoyed the walk and the artwork along the trail. The trees, ferns and green growing things along the path were all so beautiful. Seeing the artwork and easy link to via the QR codes to the biography of the artist made it all the more interesting. It is a 40 minute bicycle ride the Ferry land to/from Port Townsend. There's the beach entry and then the wood trail from the south. Both are easily accessible but the beach has more parking. I'm still awaiting the day we walk and there's orcas swimming by with some humpbacks.
