We love it here! The donuts are the best. The cider is better! It's what my kids love about fall.

We came here three different times during that trip because everything was so fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was a completely different experience. The cafe has really gone downhill. My favorite menu item used to be the turkey BLT wrap, and it was amazing. It has since been removed from the menu, and now bacon is a $4 add on, which seems absolutely ridiculous. I ordered the turkey and Cabot cheddar sandwich instead, and it was honestly one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had. The bread was supposed to be sourdough, but it tasted like stale white bread. The sandwich looked like it had been thrown together. The tomatoes still had the stems on them, and the turkey was incredibly dry. I could not even finish half of it. I ended up asking for a refund, and even that took about 20 minutes to sort out. We hoped the cider donuts would make up for it, but they were dry and not hot and fresh like we remembered. That was another big disappointment. I am leaving this review because I genuinely want to see this place succeed again. It used to be a must visit destination, but now it feels like the quality has dropped while the prices have gone up. Please bring back the turkey BLT wrap, make every donut hot and fresh, and bring back the lemon bars. Those were some of the things that made this place so special. I truly hope Cold Hollow Cider Mill can return to the quality that made us come back three times during our first visit to Vermont. Right now, after this last experience, it makes me question whether we would return again.

We elected to sit outside on the deck under an umbrella. We could hear the band from the Japanese restaurant next door. I ordered a flight which consisted of four ciders that I could choose. The server wrote the initials of my choices on a board and told me what they were. I ordered less sweet, more dry kinds. There were subtle differences between them based on the fruit notes. I did miss getting a Huckleberry flavor like I do when I go to Washington state. Our server was upbeat and friendly even though we only ordered drinks. It really depends on your palette, and you have to understand that the grapes local to the area will not be your typical grapes. My family got flights, both sweet and dry. We really liked the 2023 Louise and 2022 Marquette. In fact, the Marquette was the best of the bunch from my point of view. The ciders were both really sweet, but the Eden Angeljus was pretty good and reminiscent of Mead. The Riesling was also a favorite. We got a cheeseboard for two, and that was freaking delicious. It came with a maple cranberry preserve that was out of this world. But the cheese, and even the crackers, were exceptionally good, too. Beyond that, the service was exemplary. Ruby in particular was a joy to talk to and quite good at her job. Finally, the live music they had playing was surprisingly good. I did not expect that kind of quality on a random Saturday in May. I highly recommend going to this winery.

We ended up trying a few different types of ciders, but the Macintosh and Maple sealed the deal for us. It was so good that we returned to buy a few four packs and bottles. Surrounded by the orchards and flower gardens, this was a fantastic setting to sample ciders and have a bite. Soups were brought to us in the garden, and we really had a chance to enjoy the day. We stopped in the store to get a case of our favorite ciders to take home - and, of course, a couple fresh apple cider donuts for the road.

Wine tasting is $3 per person for the full menu of wines. The wines are GOOD - just as delicious as they are unique. The wines are unique, too; nearly all of the grape wines utilize imported grapes, so a majority of the wines grown on site are made from berries. All of the wines are very good, but I have no words for how beautiful the dry blueberry wine is - you'll have to pay the three dollars for the tasting and see what I mean. It is BEYOND. Our wine guide was charismatic, knowledgeable, and a delight to chat with. We only spoke with one staff member and I sadly did not catch her name but the summer staff is so kind and knowledgeable about the business that I'm sure the entire team is a treasure to the Charlotte community. My only regret is that I didn't pick up more of the blueberry wine. Oh well. I am not from this area but will certainly be ordering more wine online for years to come.
