This place was one of our favorite stops when we visited Vermont two years ago, which makes this review especially disappointing to write. We came here three different times during that trip because everything was so fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was a completely different experience. The cafe has really gone downhill. My favorite menu item used to be the turkey BLT wrap, and it was amazing. It has since been removed from the menu, and now bacon is a $4 add on, which seems absolutely ridiculous. I ordered the turkey and Cabot cheddar sandwich instead, and it was honestly one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had. The bread was supposed to be sourdough, but it tasted like stale white bread. The sandwich looked like it had been thrown together. The tomatoes still had the stems on them, and the turkey was incredibly dry. I could not even finish half of it. I ended up asking for a refund, and even that took about 20 minutes to sort out. We hoped the cider donuts would make up for it, but they were dry and not hot and fresh like we remembered. That was another big disappointment. I am leaving this review because I genuinely want to see this place succeed again. It used to be a must visit destination, but now it feels like the quality has dropped while the prices have gone up. Please bring back the turkey BLT wrap, make every donut hot and fresh, and bring back the lemon bars. Those were some of the things that made this place so special. I truly hope Cold Hollow Cider Mill can return to the quality that made us come back three times during our first visit to Vermont. We went to Stowe for a little weekend getaway, hoping to get all of the fall activities in. After we went apple picking, we stopped by at cold Hollow cider Mill from a friend's recommendation. We actually stopped by this location twice in one week. We loved the cider donuts so much the first time we stoped by again to have lunch at the cafe across the way and pick up more cider donuts. Both visits the staff was nice and helpful. We loved the lemon sugar cider donuts the most. A friend recommended this spot to us and we happened to be driving by on our way to and from the von Trapp Brewery, so we stopped in to check it out. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's a huge store, donut shop, and there is a little cafe. We had fun looking around and probably could have spent an hour just browsing the store. They have tons of goodies like jams, candies, chocolates, snacks, drink mixers, etc. as well as toys, home goods, decor, gifts, kitchenware, the list goes on and on. I saw so many interesting things I've never seen at any other gift shop. I loved the apple cider tank where you can dispense your own sample. The cider was super fresh and not overly sweet. I knew I had to try a maple creamee, since it was my third visit to Vermont and I still hadn't gotten one - it's Vermont's famous rich soft serve, flavored with maple syrup. I was expecting it to be super sweet, but honestly it was just right for me. The texture was luxurious and it's definitely rich... and creamy! I'm so glad I finally got to try it. We also got a donut which was just ok (though I'm not a huge donut person). The cafe seemed cute and had alcoholic ciders, but we didn't get anything off their menu. We came here driving through Vermont for my cousins wedding ! We spent wayyyyy too much money here on sauces jellys syrups and ciders but well worth it because we're from Texas! My fiance LOVED the cold apple cider! I also tried the warm but personally enjoyed the cold more myself as well I think bc it wasn't super cold out. Probably one of the best cider mill I have visited. When first arriving it was extremely busy and there were staff directing traffic around the parking lot. We visited the store and Apple cider "factory" and my god it was the best cider ive had in my life. It was just the perfect blend of sweet and I just wanted to keep drinking more. The line at the store was extremely long as well as the coffee and cider bar. It smelled amazing in there and they had a large variety of snacks/pasteries/merch and more. We then visited the cafe/restaurant part on the other half of the lot and wow. We ordered an alcoholic flight and some food. The bbq was amazing but the real winner was the hot cider. They also have the best souviners and I always leave with at least 1 thing. Cold Hollow Cider Mill is definitely a must visit if you come to Vermont. My husband, our little girl dog and I came for a visit this past Monday afternoon (yes this place is dog friendly). Although there were people, it wasn't too busy and it was easy to find parking. There are 2 buildings at this cider mill. The main one is their store in which you can purchase freshly made cider donuts (they truly are best when consumed warm), apple cider, apple cider frost and other delectable baked goods like cookies and pies. You can also purchase souvenirs and all kinds of cute knick knacks. You can also learn about the difference between cider and apple juice and how the process of making cider works. But most importantly, you can also try a sample of cider (as much as you want. You get to pour it in a cup and go back for refills). That cider sample we had was so refreshing, we ended up purchasing a half gallon bottle for $6. We also were able to get a free cider donut with Yelp check in (make sure you ask the employee to get you a freshly made one). In the other building across from the main store, is a restaurant that you an purchase hot food. You can also purchase a hard cider tasting at the bar, like my husband did. He paid $11 for 4. I honestly wasn't a fan of any of the hard cider (I do like hard apple cider and have only found one type that I like that is at a farm in California). I do want to mention that the paper that was given with the hard cider, it was written that if you post a photo of yourself with your hard cider on social media and tag this cider mill and use their specific hashtag (check out my photos for the information), you can get a voucher for 6 free cider donuts. Good thing I read the slip of paper. My husband did just that and ended up getting a half dozen of freshly made cider donuts (and in total we got 8 donuts for free, what a great day!). Please note that there are restrooms (which were clean and adequately stocked with the essentials) inside the main store. As for the restaurant, you can either dine inside or outside.
