I have pain in my hand from an old injury,…read moreand a rheumatologist referred me to Dr. Tucker for a longer-term solution (instead of cortisone shots). She took many x-rays and had me get an MRI. She acknowledged the inflammation and prescribed a custom thermoplastic splint (which helps if I want to wear a splint the rest of my life). But my hand still hurts if I use it. She said "we" only give shots when there is trigger finger (not just for pain). She said I have trigger finger - but I don't have the symptoms of trigger finger. My fingers don't get 'stuck'. But I do have pain when I use my hand. Child proof caps are a nightmare! She seemed stumped and asked what I wanted and I replied that I wanted a diagnosis & a treatment plan. She got flustered and said "I'm very upset and need to leave the room to gather myself" and walked out! 20 minutes later, she returned with a copy of my medical records and the name of three other surgeons. I've never been fired by a doctor just because she doesn't know what to do to help. Anyone know a good hand surgeon who cares about patients?

The first day I kept calling my mom but she wasn't answering which worried me ( she was on a lot of pain meds) so I called the nurse ( Mo) and he answered. Went to check on my mom and asked why I wasn't answering. He assured me my mom was ok which made me feel better. All the day nurses that took care of my mom were great ( Erin, Jackie, Mo, Dana, Angie, Melissa) I slept there for the week and a half she was there. The night nurses were ok, only came in to take vitals, give medication and clean her ( I got the feeling that they weren't too thrilled when they had to clean her) which is understandable but my mom had a fractured tail bone so she was limited to what she could do but I'm still thankful for them. Only thing was that I wish the food was better. Every week was the same thing I kind of wish they would change it up a bit & also the case manager I wish she would communicate a little bit more and guide us but nope one can only hope

All of the offices I contacted were booked for 3 - 6 months. The doctor is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism. She joined Cleveland Clinic over a decade ago where she built the inpatient diabetes program, among other important quality-improvement projects. Dr. Villabona has recently opened up her own practice and I am one of the fortunate ones to be treated by her. Dr. Villabona is caring, personable, patient, and thorough. She seemed genuinely interested in getting me back to tip-top health! I will be returning for a follow up soon, but it's also reassuring to know that I can reach out to her through virtual visits Monday thru Thursday from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m., as well as early morning on the first Saturday of the month.
